This week Jim Reid and the RecPoker RECing Crew interview the President of the Women’s Poker Association, Tara Smith! Tara shares some details about her own entry into the world of poker, and how she became drawn to the cause of advocacy for women with the game. She shares some of the origin story of the WPA and her role with it now, as well as outlining some of the issues women face in the poker world and some of the solutions the WPA and other great organizations like it are hoping to implement over the next while. The group also talks about how men specifically can help support and encourage players of every demographic, and Tara gives some specific and helpful advice for how any of us can make the poker table a more positive and encouraging place for anyone to join. She also shares some details about their advocacy programs and how our male listeners can become a Purple Tie Guy and show their support for the cause.
