Blessed Miguel Pro was a Jesuit priest who lived a life of utter love and sacrifice, but knew how to do it with humor. When the Mexican government began persecuting the church and killing priests, Miguel Pro used his cleverness to continue ministering to the faithful Catholics of Mexico City. When he was finally captured and falsely accused, he maintained his courage to the last.
This series contains moments of intensity and danger. A character is depicted dying from an illness. Executions are mentioned. Several characters smoke tobacco throughout the series. Religious characters are threatened with interrogation and torture, and one is described as having been tortured. Government persecution of religion is depicted. A failed assassination attempt is described. The series ends with a depiction of a martyrdom by firing squad.
