Derek Chauvin's charge has been upgraded to second-degree murder. The three other police officers present at the time of George Floyd's death have been charged with aiding and abetting second degree murder. All four officers involved in Floyd's death charged "in the interest of justice" says Minnesota attorney general. Protests are underway as all four police officers are charged in Floyd's death.
Former President Barack Obama speaks about George Floyd's death and nationwide unrest. Obama says, "the involvement of young people makes me optimistic." "Young people have the power and talent to make things change," Obama said. He also says, "bring about real change by highlighting problems, making people in power uncomfortable, and then voting." Obama talks about there being a change in mindset taking place, "we can do better." Obama also says the now compared to the sixties, there's "something different here."
