President-elect Joe Biden is stumping for votes in Georgia in support of the Democratic candidates in the state's US Senate runoff election. He held a drive-in rally on Tuesday in Atlanta, early voting kicked off Monday.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has acknowledged Biden's 2020 presidential election win. McConnell chose Tuesday, the day after the Electoral College affirmed Biden's victory, to congratulate him.
A White House adviser, when asked about McConnell congratulating Biden responded saying quote, "you can't always get what you want. " The adviser referred to a song that was used to signal the end of President Trump's rallies. White House officials also say Trump is still involved in election litigation.
Across the United States, health care workers are getting the Pfizer vaccine. Operation Warp Speed, a public-private effort, developed the vaccine in less than a year. The vaccine is now available at 425 sites.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expected to grant emergency authorization for the Moderna Vaccine within the next few days. The FDA will hold a meeting on Thursday.
The Coronavirus has now taken more than 300,000 lives. There are more than 16.6 million cases of Covid-19 and hospilizations are at an all time high in the U.S.
