Coronavirus cases nearing 20 million worldwide. 25 percent of all coronavirus cases are in the United States where the death toll now tops 163,000.

Experts are saying that there is "no way" the Moderna vaccine will be ready by election day as Trump suggests. The FDA chief says that the agency will "not cut corners" to approve a Covid-19 vaccine. Trump also defends his executive orders as the White House struggles to explain them. A source says that the White House looked at executive action on mail-in voting as Trump attacks the process. Trump is denying that the White House asked about adding him to Mount Rushmore. 

More schools are reopening this week as data shows almost 100,000 United States children tested positive in the last two weeks of July. At least 484 students, 21 staff are in quarantine in one Georgia school district. Georgia school that was seen in a viral photo of a crowded hall temporarily closes after nine test positive. The Georgia governor defends reopening schools as educators voice fears. Reports say the Big 10 may cancel its college football season. 

Texas coronavirus positivity rate hits record high at 20 percent.
