Hamas says its now holding 200-250 hostages in Gaza

There are new warnings that Gaza is on the brink of complete catastrophe amid horrific scenes of destruction and increasingly dire shortages of life-saving supplies. Civilians are desperate to leave Gaza but are trapped with a critical border crossing into Egypt remaining closed. Israeli forces declare they are ready to launch the next phase of their response to the Hamas terror attacks with troops appearing poised for a full-scale ground invasion of Gaza.
