White House Sows Confusion About Trump's Condition

40 min • 4 oktober 2020

The White House is sowing confusion about President Trump's condition after he tested positive for COVID-19. Trump's doctor offered an assessment of his condition Saturday, stating he had been "fever-free" for 24 hours and that his symptoms which included an "extremely mild cough, nasal congestion, and fatigue" are improving.

However, a well-placed source familiar with the President's health told CNN the next 48 hours will be "critical and that we are still not on a clear path to a full recovery."

Sources also confirmed Trump received supplemental Oxygen on Friday despite the White House's refusal to say whether he needed it. Those messages were among the latest in a string of contradictory information about the president's diagnosis and his condition since being transported to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Friday night.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he spoke to Trump. He tweeted, the President "sounds well and says he's feeling good."

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie checked into a hospital Saturday after testing positive for COVID-19. He told CNN he's doing it as a precautionary measure. Christie helped the President with debate preparations. He was also in the audience for Trump's Supreme Court announcement, where many guests were seen not wearing masks nor practicing social distancing.
