The Kundalini Shakti awakening process is highly individualized though there are general overarching themes that we see across the board. Some will have a Kundalini rising from the Root Chakra toward the Crown Chakra, others will experience a Descent of Grace from the Crown Chakra downward, for example. There are an infinite amount of mystical phenomena that can be experienced and no two journeys are identical.

The same attitude that you approached puberty with can be applied to Kundalini. The processes are very similar. You didn't trip about puberty. Don't trip about Kundalini awakening, either. Just like how you didn't need to read everything about hormones and do things to facilitate puberty, you don't need to read everything about chakras and nadis or do anything to control Kundalini rising, either.

Some practices, like effortful pranayama, breathwork, visualization, kriyas, and psychedelics shouldn't be engaged once Kundalini Shakti rises within you. Many don't understand this idea and end up overclocking and destabilizing their system unnecessarily because they push too hard with spiritual practices when they no longer need to. On the spiritual path, there are sometimes different ideas about managing conflict in our lives and the world. After spiritual awakening, the limitations that hold us back from really allowing immense amounts of Shakti to flow through our nervous system comes in the form of emotional blockages and trauma, known as vasanas in the Yogic tradition and samskaras in Buddhism. Resting in samadhi in meditation is absolutely critical at this point in order to allow our consciousness to expand and be integrated.

There are so many spiritual teachers and guides out there. How can we be sure that we’re working with the right ones? For someone seeking spiritual guidance, healing, and support from others, it’s absolutely imperative that discernment is cultivated and practiced on an ongoing basis.

We don’t all have the innate ability to simply just know whether a spiritual guide, teacher, or teaching is right for us. When it comes to discerning where a teacher might be on their own path, most cannot just look at a person and say whether they’re spiritually awakened/Self-Realized/enlightened, or not. There’s no halo that suddenly appears over one’s head or anything of that sort.
