The man, the myth, the ledge — singer-songwriter and all around incredible human Harry Hudson joins the Lautners today to discuss his cancer journey, the importance of music in his life, and his charity, Hey, I'm Here For You. Harry was diagnosed with cancer the same week he turned 20, and he discusses the existential brain shifts that occurred as he processed his reality and embraced death. He attributes music to saving his life and talks about the intersection of music and mental health when used as a healing tool. He speaks to the psychological toll of being released from the hospital free of cancer and being unsure how to process what you’ve just been through, as well as feeling like he wasn’t allowed to be sad. Harry also lost his father at 23, and shares how, while he embraced death for himself, he wasn’t prepared for it to happen to someone else. Lastly, he talks about the inspiration and mission for his charity, Hey, I’m Here For You, which helps enhance the lives of teens and young adults undergoing cancer treatment.
