"If you stay here too long, you'll end up frying your brain...." - Random Drunk Guy?
On the latest trip through "EarthBound", our heroes find themselves in a weird parallel dimension known as "Moonside" where they fight melting clocks, sentient gas pumps, 'abstract art', and a mysterious golden statue! We then go on one of the strangest / most tedious side quests in gaming history as we make our way through a labyrinth of monkeys for a trout-flavored-yogurt-machine that we then need in order to gain access to the top floor of the Monotoli Building, to save Paula... again... where we're then attacked by a legion of robots?!

"Before I go, here's my last haiku poem - when on your way out, be sure that you say goodbye, then lock the door tight..." - Al Everdred
We pick up our ongoing "EarthBound" saga as Ness, Paula, and Jeff make their way into the city of Fourside! While there, they get buzzed at the cafe, wander around a dinosaur museum, see a concert (or two), get hit by a taxi, pick up some stinky socks at the bakery, get kicked out of a skyscraper, fight our way through a department store, and ...find a dead body in an alleyway?!

"Your existence is a problem for me and my religion. Defy me and I'll end your pitiful game!" - Mr. Carpainter
After erasing a pencil-shaped-statue, Ness fights his way through Peaceful Rest Valley, swarming with an onslaught of robots, UFO's, and walking trees, on his way to save Paula from a creepy cult leader in "Happy Happy Village". From there, Ness and Paula use their psychic powers to fight off some bears and moles to reach the Second Sanctuary Sound, before heading back to Twoson, and paying off some debt for a blues band called the Runaway Five, who then give them a ride to the (haunted) town of Threed - which appears to be undergoing a zombie infestation...

Erik and Frost team-up to announce our next game for Season 8 of the Super Switch Club: 1994's "EarthBound" for the Super Nintendo - along with a breakdown of rules on how to be a part of this season!
Directions:
10 minutes max! - we're going to be enforcing the limit a lot harder
Don’t narrate everything, be selective about what you talk about - focus on things you loved or hated.
Leave pauses between subjects in your audio (these will not count against the time limit)
Note: For the manual episode specifically - Don’t read the whole thing, there will be a secret narrator. Just call out things you care about in the first 14 pages.
Suggestions:
Take notes beforehand
Edit your submission down (leave bloopers at the end of the sub)
Be proactive and submit before the deadline
Don’t describe every battle - please
Note: The Manual Episode is also a good time to talk about your nostalgia for the game and any behind-the-scenes trivia.

On our latest episode in the 'Star Tropics' saga, we're covering Chapters 4 and 5: "Confession" and "Captain Bell"! We get trapped in the belly of a whale, uncover a secret code, go fishing, make friends with a parrot, decipher a janky music puzzle in the memorial of a local celebrity / cult leader, fight some pirate ghouls, hit some balls, run through some Indiana Jones style traps, sink a historic landmark, and sing the British National Anthem!

"You want to enter She-Cola, don't you?" - A Mysterious Fortune Teller
In the second half of Star Tropics - Ch3 (Storm and Calm), after fighting a cave full of Flying Monkeys and... Shit Demons(?!) - Mike Jones continues his excruciatingly long 'side quest' to save Chief Mira-Cola's daughter (Bernadette?) by finding a hermit on a mountain - so that he can get his sub repaired and save his uncle, Dr. Jones! Along the way however, we encounter the fortress of She-Cola, a castle run by Amazon warriors? Mike enlists the help of a Fortune Teller, but she lost her Crystal Ball in a lake near the graveyard of "Ghost Village", so naturally our hero, armed with his trusty yo-yo, fights his way through an army of undead mummies in a never-ending underground crypt!

"Suddenly it gets dark and stormy on the ocean. The sea tosses Sub-C..."
In the first half of Star Tropics - Chapter 3: "Storm and Calm", we once again get sidetracked from our main quest when our submarine crashes in a storm! We then find out that in order to fix our sub to save our uncle from aliens, we first need to save a girl from a spell by finding a hermit or something? So we trudge through what might be the one of the most infuriating sections of the game... so far! We fight our way through a lava labyrinth of ninja monkeys, do-do birds, zombie flamingos, and mud monsters, before facing off with a freaking fire demon?! ...and it turns out we're not even halfway through this section of the game!
To be continued...

Our group of podcasters continue their quest to save Hyrule in "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link" (on the NES and Nintendo Switch virtual console)! On today's episode - Jay goes down memory lane! After obtaining a magic hammer from Death Mountain, we trudge through a creepy graveyard, rack up some XP, raid a church in Mido Town, fall down a hole, turn into a fairy, find a crappy raft, fight our way through a frustrating legion of Red and Blue Iron Knuckles (who we vanquish with the "D-Stab"), and finally conquer the Island Palace! (but we tragically lose Scott along the way...)

"I am Error."
*Originally posted on "Bill's JRPG Adventures and Other Trappings"!*
Our group of podcasters continue their quest to save Hyrule in "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link" (on the NES and Nintendo Switch virtual console)! After successfully conquering Parapa Palace, we head west through a dark cavern to Ruto Town. We meet a guy called "Error"...? and figure out how to jump real good while fighting some boomerang-throwing kangaroos, before aimlessly trudging through Midoro Swamp in search of a homeless dude named "Bagu". After wandering around Hyrule, completely lost, we eventually figure out where the Second Palace is and immediately regret it...

Welcome to the start in a new series where I (Bill) get a group of podcasters to join me in madness! This is Zelda II... Podcasters Assemble style! (Not heard of Podcasters Assemble? Check out the podcast here!) Before we begin our quest, we're taking a look at the original instruction manual for "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link" (NES, 1987)! Arguably one of the hardest and most divisive games in the entire Legend of Zelda franchise!

On this mini-episode, Bill explains what the Super Switch Club is, how it started (as a spin-off of Bill’s JRPG’s and Other Trappings Podcast), what inspired it (Podcasters Assemble), and where it's going! "The Super Switch Club" is a documentary-style, crowd sourced, hype/re-play podcast where players from around the world are invited to relive the nostalgia of retro games on the Nintendo Online virtual library - from the NES to the 16-bit era (and beyond?). It's kind of like a book club, but with video games! (Part of the We Can Make This Work Probably Podcast Network!)
