Kyle Ma was born in the year 2000, he developed a love for art at an early age after being exposed to the works of the old masters through museums and art history books. Kyle says that painting allows him to express his viewpoint of our world. In 2010, Kyle moved with his family to Austin, Texas where he began seriously study oil painting under Elizabeth Locke. Here, Kyle learned the importance of having a solid foundation in the fundamentals to be a successful representational artist. Kyle also took workshops around the country with master artists to further his art education. He enjoys painting En plein air since it allows him to be immersed in the landscape during the process of creating. In 2016, Kyle held his first solo show with Wilcox Gallery. The show was successful and encouraged Kyle to consider art as a full time career after graduating. Kyle holds a BS in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin but chose to pursue art as a career. Kyle believes it reinforces the idea of making careful observations and seeking to understand these observations, a skill Kyle feels is extremely important in art.

Kyle’s work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the country, and has received several awards including the gold medal in the 30th annual Oil Painters of America National Show. Additionally, Kyle is a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, Plein Air Painters of America and member of Salmagundi Club. Kyle was also featured in Southwest Art Magazine, Art of the West Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur, Western Art Collector Magazine, and American Art Collector Magazine. Kyle teaches workshops around the world and has presented at Plein Air Convention and Portrait Society of America’s conference. “Painting, to me, is an extremely passionate experience. I paint as much as I can, and hope that I can communicate with the viewer what I saw and how I felt each time that I pick up a brush."

Nicholas O’Leary (1986) was born and raised in Gisborne, New Zealand and has been painting since childhood and exhibiting since his teenage years.

After graduating from the University of Auckland with a degree in Architecture in 2009, he moved as far away as one can from the sunny paradise of Gisborne, to Bergen, Norway. He still resides in Bergen where he can be found hiking in the spectacular mountains, amoungst the fjords or along the rugged coastline with his easel strapped to his backpack in often challenging conditions.

He has studied with and painted alongside many artists along his journey, most notably with Odd Nerdrum in Norway.

O’Leary works largely from life whereby the observation of previously unnoticed subtleties are prioritised. The recognition of these subtleties allows O’Leary to bend physical rules in his paintings and challenge our perceptions of truth and deception, reality and fantasy.

The accumulation and manipulation of observations is not limited by a specific subject matter. He paints across the board, and has won international prizes in portraiture, figurative paintings, larger imaginative compositions, landscapes, cityscapes, and still lives.

Scott was born in Chicago, where his mother and father early on encouraged his interest in Art. "I spent a lot of time in hospitals as a child and remember my mother showing me how to transform simple shapes like circles, triangles, and squares into objects like planes, helicopters, and fish. It seemed such a magical thing and made spending so much time in casts and on crutches much more bearable."

In high school, Scott began taking life-drawing classes at the American Academy of Art under the legendary Bill Parks. "Though I'd always loved drawing, it was Mr. Parks who filled me with the enthusiasm and discipline necessary to improve my skills. His love of painting and creative expression infected us all." After finishing the Academy, Scott continued his study at the Palette and Chisel Art club, where he met his wife, painter Susan Lyon. "It's a wonderful thing being able to paint together all the time and grow as artists together," Scott says.

His ideas for paintings come from everywhere. "What makes a subject attractive to me are the same things that attract us all. The beauty of a young girl, the character of a weathered face, the solitude of a farm at sunset, or even the story itself behind someone or something that makes it interesting." Scott believes it is the job of the artist to recognize this when it happens, analyze why, and use his technical skills to convey the feeling to someone else. He notes that some paintings are as simple as stopping at the sight of something interesting, while others may take more time to research than to actually paint.

Today, Scott and Susan live in a rural area of North Carolina..

Patrick Okrasinski was born in New York City in 1996. Even as a young boy, he was consumed by drawing. The time he spent with his grandparents in the idyllic Polish countryside helped fuel his love of the natural world.

In the Fall of 2016 he found his way to the US branch of the Florence Academy of Art in Jersey City. There he was able to study at the highest levels of figurative painting, under the tutelage of Jordan Sokol, Amaya Gurpide, Stephen Bauman, Cornelia Hernes, and Edmond Rochat. As a student he won numerous prizes, including the ARC Scholarship Competition.

After graduating, he spent three months as Artist in Residence with the Claude Monet Foundation in Giverny, painting in Monet’s garden and the surrounding French countryside.

In 2020 he was awarded the prestigious Donald Jurney Travelling Fellowship Grant for the purpose of travelling and painting the great historic and cultural centers of Europe. In light of the pandemic, this adventure was postponed, and he instead turned to painting the local landscape of the North East, and winning multiple awards in National Juried Shows.

In 2021, he was awarded the Hudson River Fellowship at Wethersfield, a collaborative fellowship that brings together classically trained artists to study and paint nature for three weeks. Later that summer, he painted and traveled Europe, thanks to the Donald Jurney Travelling Fellowship.

Susan Lyon grew up in Oak Park, Illinois. Her initial interest in art was sparked by a PBS television show on Georgia O'Keefe, that inspired her to take weekend art classes. Lyon studied art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and was an active participant in Chicago's Palette and Chisel Club. It is there she first began exhibiting and selling her work. She entered the Oil Painters of America. Susan draws inspiration from painters of the Guilded age such as Anders Zorn, Joaquin Sorolla and John Singer Sargent. She also is passionate about artists like Philip Malavin from Russia and contemporary masters Richard Schmid and Nancy Guzik. Lyon's technique is to paint wet on wet to start and then wet on dry for her finishing touches. "My style is realistic with as much impressionistic color as possible. I like to combine wide brushes for sweeping strokes in the background with small, soft brushes for subtle details in my center of interest. One of my greatest passions is drawing, I hope to show collectors that works on paper is a wonderful addition to a serious collection."

Susan lives in a rural area of North Carolina with her husband, artist Scott Burdick, whom she met at the Palette and Chisel Art Club in Chicago. She and her husband travel widely "The excitement of traveling, seeing so many new sights and people, plus incredible works in museums; combined with the challenge of painting on the spot make me a travel addict! Even before I go on a trip I'm planning the one after."

Susan works equally in Oil and Pastel/charcoal and Mixed Media.

Daniela Astone ( b.1980 Pisa )grew upon in the sea-town of PortoSanto Stefano ,Italy, formally began studying art at the age of 14 in the High School of Arts in Grosseto.

After graduating in 1998 she moved to Florence to study Illustration at the international school of comix, in her second year she started to work indipendently for several editors and in the studio of illustration Inklink.

At the age of 21 Daniela decided to change direction and to re-start studing drawing and paint from life at The Florence Academy of Art under the direction of Daniel Graves.

She began to teach to the younger students in the Academy when she was in her second year , she graduated in 2004 with the end of the year award , but she continued to work as a principal teacher for the Florence Academy of art .

In 2005 she had her first and very successful Solo show at the Ann Long Fine Art Gallery in Charleston so she decided to build up a studio in the Tuscany countryside.

In 2013 Daniela became the director of the intermediate program at The Florence Academy of Art , entered in the BP award in London and recived a honorable mention from the Mod Portrait award,Spain .

Her work has exhibited internationally and in 2016 it became part of the permanent collection of MACS ,the Contemporary Art Museum in Sicily.

She also collaborated with Tiac ,China with Liveandlearn ,Thailand ,with Streamline , East Oaks Studio and teaches workshops of landscape painting in her studio-house in Chianti Tuscany and around the world.

In 2019 together with Gaia Grazioli she curated the Show “Corpo a Corpo” in the Museum of Villa Bardini in Florence thanks to Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and Carlo Sisi.
