With insights from their new book “Lunchroom theology” they help us explore if there’s a different way we can live in this divided world, more aligned to the ways of Jesus?
Hosted by Hanna Mingay and Chris Mingay
In this episode we talk to Rich Robinson about his new book All Change, Unlocking Kingdom Potential in a World Weren't Prepared For. Everything about the gospel message leads to the cross, and proceeds from the cross. In fact, within the narrative of Scripture, the crucifixion of Jesus is literally the crux of the story―the axis upon which the biblical story turns. In our ongoing quest to make meaning of the cross, we need to recognize that this conversation will never conclude―that there is always something more to be said. In this episode Brian Zahnd invites us to experience the kaleidoscopic mystery of the cross and the infinite ways to behold the crucified Christ as the beautiful form that touches and transforms all aspects of life.
In this episode, we are joined by two friends from Palestine. They share the history and plight of the Palestinian people, as well as open up about their own personal experiences and impact that the latest Israeli invasion in Gaza has had on them and those around them.
We speak to Angela Lam, founder of Hagar's Voice about abuse and the environments that enable them in the church but also how we can find routes to healing and safe spaces of transformation in the movement that Jesus started.

In this episode we have great conversation with Mike Frost about his new book 'Mission is the Shape of Water: Learning From the Past to Inform Our Role in the World'.
Join us as traverse through the rich tapestry of Christian history revealing how context shapes mission, just as a bottle shapes water. You'll encounter some well known and perhaps some unexpected voices, people and movements who have been loyal to the soil of their time and announced the universal reign of God's good news in profoundly transformative and beautiful ways.
Where will the water flow next? What might the shape of mission be for our time and place, and how can we play our part today?
Pete Enns is an author, scholar and professor. This podcast takes some of those Christian ideas that usually scare, intimidate or worry us, and then make those very places a meeting place with a God who is bigger and more wonderful, mysterious and trustworthy than we ever could have guessed.
The Gathering Network - Micro churches in an European context
In this episode we have a conversation with Charlotte and Adam Penketh, the leaders of the Gathering Network in Glasgow. They invite us into a conversation about small missional communities, activating the whole body of Christ and what’s it’s like leading a network in Europe with its unique opportunities and challenges.
In this episode we meet Alan Hirsch award winning author of numerous books on missional spirituality, leadership and organisation and Rob Kelly who serves as a catalyst for city networks that unite the church for the flourishing of cities. Together they have just co-authored and released a book titled 'Metanoia". In this conversation we talk about the profound gift embedded in these first words of Jesus and explore with new eyes and new language this ancient call to realign our hearts and minds to Christ sparking the deep rooted transformation in people, churches and organisations that we so desperately desire.
Rev. René August is an Anglican Priest from South Africa who was mentored by and served alongside the great Bishop Desmond Tutu. A veteran of the anti-apartheid movement, René currently works for Tearfund and serves as a peacebuilding specialist walking alongside communities and churches as they seek to respond to the issues of poverty, injustice, and division. This episode firstly calls us to interrogate the narratives that we hold around scripture, power and privilege and religious authority, and secondly inspires us to contemplate once more what happens to the movement of power in any context as a result of the presence of Jesus.
Reflection Questions
In this episode we talk to Brian Sanders founder of the Underground Network about his book The 6 seasons of Calling in which he invites us to see 'calling' as something dynamic and ongoing rather than something that is static or a one-time only experience.
