DISCLAIMER: If you are a bonafied practitioner of Palo Mayombe we would like to humbly apologize for presenting information from Montenegro who, as I have since learned, is NOT a bonafied or legitimate source for Palo Mayombe. I have been contacted by practitioners of the craft who were kind enough to point out quite a few MAJOR ERRORS as DISINFO we unwittingly repeated on the show by using Montenegro as our source. After discussing some of the things we got wrong, specifically, I came to the conclusion that we had fallen for colonialist propaganda. So while spirit pots, ancestral worship, orishas and white rum offerings are all real - we got enough historical and religious info wrong to warrant a strong warning that you might want to take this episode with a grain of salt or just skip it. I am officially calling ourselves on our bullshit and we will do better next time.
