We continue our dive into platforming games. We look at the three main "schools" of thought brought about in the 2-D era. We start with the fast platforming pioneered by Sonic with Crash Bandicoot. The cinematic platformer of Prince of Persia is continued with Tomb Raider. Nintendo, makes its shift into 3-D with Starfox, and the development of the N64. This culminates with the release of Super Mario 64. These early transitions continue to evolve into the modern action platformers of Uncharted, and Super Mario Sunshine.
