Greg Hodgin - How To Build The Star Trek Warp Drive

Nearly 30 years ago physicist Miguel Alcubierre described a real-life version of the Star Trek Warp-Drive - but it required materials that don't exist yet. Dr. Greg Hodgin joins us today to discuss a new approach to warp-drive design that might put the dream of FTL travel within reach of today's technology. Dr. Hodgin is the Executive Director and Founder of Peacebuilding Solutions and the ZC Institute. He graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry and from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s in History, a Master’s in Political Science and a Ph.D. in Political Science. Greg was inspired by a peer-reviewed 2020 paper indicating that a specific class of “warp-drive” is feasible with present-day science & engineering, he enlisted the help of physicists and other subject matter experts to launch the ZC Institute with the goal of developing the world’s first warp-drive.
