Kenneth Wharton - Retrocausality in Physics

36 min • 2 april 2023
Can the future influence the past? Dr. Kenneth Wharton discusses retrocausality, time-symmetry, Aharanov’s “two state vector formalism”, and the implications of the 2022 Nobel Prize in physics for non-locality & local realism in quantum mechanics. Dr. Ken Wharton, a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at San José State University. Ken’s research is in the field of quantum foundations, with a current focus on time-symmetric and causally-neutral models of physics, working towards the ultimate goal of reframing quantum theory in a manner fully compatible with general relativity. He has also written a number of popular science pieces, appearing in venues such as New Scientist, Aeon, and Nautilus.
