April Kauffman was described as part princess, part bulldog… She was beautiful, funny, charismatic, generous, incredibly philanthropic, and would stop at nothing to give back to the causes she believed in. One of the things she believed in most was helping Veterans. Her passion for helping Veterans is what drew her to Jim Kauffman, her third husband. But after 10 years of marriage, she wanted out. After finding out he lied about being a veteran and that he was running an illegal pill mill with a local motorcycle gang, April asked for a divorce. But rather than risk losing half of his net worth, Jim paid someone in that motorcycle gang to murder her. After years of her case going cold, her daughter pushed for justice and ultimately landed those responsible behind bars, thanks, in part, to a member of the gang who snitched.

Susana Morales was 16 years old, living in Norcross, Georgia when one night she suddenly disappeared. July 26th, 2022 was a seemingly normal evening, and Susana spent a few hours that night a block away from her house with a friend, at her friend’s apartment. This was something she did often as it was less than a 10-minute walk from her house. But when she never came home that night, her family began to worry. She was reported missing the following morning, but it wasn’t until early February of 2023 that they got answers. On February 6th, Susana’s skeletal remains were found 20 miles from her home, and evidence left at this location led police officers to her killer, fellow police officer Miles Bryant. Bryant has since been arrested and charged with Susana’s murder, along with a string of other crimes he had committed.

Lauren Dunne Astley was 18 years old and had her whole life ahead of her. In the fall of 2011 she was planning on attending Elon University for college, but not before spending her last summer at home in Massachusetts with her friends. But that all changed on July 3rd, 2011, when Nathaniel Fujita, her recent ex-boyfriend, strangled her to death in his garage. His motive? Their breakup. On March 7, 2013, he was found guilty and convicted of first-degree murder. Jennifer Dulos, a loving mother of five, was two years into a bitter divorce battle against her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Fotis Dulos, when she suddenly vanished. Though her car was quickly found a few miles from her home, Jennifer’s body has never been found. My name is ____, and I am writing to you on behalf of Nancy Ng’s entire family, who have gone months without answers regarding what happened to her on October 19, 2023, on Lake Atitlán. After kayaking out into the lake, she disappeared in an alleged drowning incident. The one and only person who witnessed Nancy’s drowning has been uncooperative, and there are now allegations that a bribe occurred to have her statement omitted from the police report. This person then left the country without aiding in search efforts and has refused to cooperate with the family and search teams.

It is my understanding that you have the power to escalate her case to the appropriate authorities in Guatemala because, as it stands, little is being done to investigate her disappearance. Please help her and her family.

I am asking that you please:
- Request that Guatemalan authorities ask U.S. officials, such as the FBI, for assistance in this investigation. The United States has resources that would prove incredibly valuable to this investigation, as well as in the search for Nancy’s body.
- Facilitate a conversation between the Ng family and someone in Guatemala who is actively working the case. Currently, their family has been ignored by the prosecutor. Please help connect them with someone with more information regarding the status of Nancy’s case.
- Lastly - I am asking that you please not forget that Nancy was human. She was a sister, a daughter, a teacher, and a friend. All her loved ones want is to know what happened and to bring her home to lay her to rest. Their patience has been taken advantage of and it’s time someone stepped up to escalate the situation for them.

Niqui McCown was a 28-year-old mother living in Richmond, Indiana, with her 9-year-old daughter, Payton, and her fiancé, Bobby Webster. In July of 2001, they were 3 weeks away from their wedding, and Niqui was said to have been very excited. But on the 22nd of that month, she vanished. After going to church that morning, she took some clothes to the laundromat, and rather than wait around for them to be ready, she went to her mother’s house, who lived not too far away. When she got there, she explained that she was being harassed by two men, and so her mom advised her to get her clothes and come back over. But after Niqui left, she was never seen again. Suspicion fell on her fiancé for a while, and it also fell on Payton’s father. But the true main suspect was her coworker, Tommy Swint. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Tommy was responsible for the murder of a woman back in 1991. But before any arrests could be made, Tommy took his life. Many believe he also took the answers as to what happened to Niqui with him.

Kelley Stage was funny, kind, endearing, and goofy… qualities that made her loved by everyone she met, including local hockey star Thomas Clayton. After meeting in a bar, the two quickly began dating, and a year later, they were married and starting a family together. They had what many perceived to be the perfect life. That is until September 29th, 2015, when Thomas came home just after midnight from a poker game to find his wife brutally bludgeoned on their kitchen floor. He called 911, and within an hour, the place was swarming with police. Though he performed well, the officers weren’t buying his story that he wasn’t involved. So much so that that same day, he was arrested for her murder. Even though his alibi checked out, too much pointed to his involvement. All investigators had to do was figure out who did the actual killing. And he wasn’t hard to find. Michael Beard, a recently fired employee of Thomas, was brought in for questioning, and after several hours and a failed polygraph, he confessed to everything. Though he later tried to recant, a jury didn’t buy it. They didn’t buy Thomas’ pleas of innocence either. Both men were convicted of 1st and 2nd-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Myrtle Simmons-Brown was not just a loving mother, but a leader in her community. Myrtle had just turned 73 and was living in Maywood, Illinois, with her oldest son, Sergio Brown. Sergio is known for his 7 successful seasons playing in the NFL, and for reasons we don’t know, he had moved in with his mom and didn’t have much to his name. And on September 14th and 15th 2023, when neither responded to loved ones, people grew concerned. So, on September 16th, a loved one went to their house to check up on them but found nothing - no sign of forced entry nor of Myrtle and Sergio. It wasn’t until family members reported them missing to police that neighbors got involved in the search. And it was only then, late on the 16th, that Myrtle’s naked body was found wrapped in plastic in a creek bed 150 feet from her own back door. After days of looking for Sergio, he was located in Mexico where he had made several concerning posts on Instagram. He was eventually extradited back to Maywood, where he is now facing a 1st-degree murder charge and a concealment of a dead body charge.

Madison Marie Russo was a 19-year-old college student at St. Ambrose University who, for actual reasons we may never know, decided to fake having cancer. Her scheme began on TikTok where she spread her story to thousands of people willing to listen, pray, and follow her along her “cancer journey.” It wasn’t until anonymous witnesses brought her story to the police, citing medical discrepancies in her story. Investigators subpoenaed her medical records and it confirmed what many suspected - Maddie did not have cancer. But for months, she was able to solicit $37,303 on GoFundMe, not to mention that she was supported by several foundations, funds, and schools. She tricked innocent people into giving her money to fight a disease she never had. Maddie was thankfully arrested and charged with theft by means of deception in January of 2023, and in October was finally sentenced to 3 years probation and restitution.

On the night of December 21st, 2023, 18-year-old Savanah Soto and 22-year-old Matthew Guerra left their apartment in Texas to sell marijuana to 19-year-old Christopher Preciado unbeknownst to their families. Then, two days later Savanah missed her appointment to be induced into labor. She and her boyfriend Matthew were expecting their first child together, a son, named Fabian. Their families reported them missing and a CLEAR alert was issued. Sadly, just 3 days later their bodies were found dead in Matthew’s car. Thanks to surveillance footage, San Antonio police detectives were able to determine 3 persons of interest. On January 3rd, 2024, 2 suspects were arrested. 19-year-old Christopher Preciado and his father Ramon Preciado. Then, a week after their arrests, a third arrest was made. Christopher’s stepmother, Myrta Romanos was also arrested and charged for her involvement in concealing the murders. More information is expected to come out in the coming weeks.

Valerie was a 17-year-old girl, living with her family in Arlington, Indiana. Her mom had moved them there, just outside of Indianapolis, to help get her daughter away from violence. During the summer of 2023, Valerie was working a handful of jobs, including helping her neighbor, a 59-year-old man named Patrick Scott, with his lawn care business. The two seemed to have developed a friendship and even when they weren’t working, they sometimes spent time together. However, on June 7th, 2023, Valerie went to work that afternoon for Patrick and vanished. After being reported missing, Patrick told police she did not work for him that day, and that he hadn’t seen her. He ended up changing his story to say that he WAS with her that day, but that he saw her get into another man’s car and drive away. Because he lied to officers, he was initially charged with false informing. Then, on November 28th, a search warrant was executed on his property, and sadly her remains were found in a homemade wooden box made of 2x4s. He was arrested, charged with murder, and quickly confessed to strangling her with his belt. He claims Valerie was trying to blackmail him into buying her a car.

Nicole (Nicki) Lenway was a crime scene investigator for the Minneapolis Police Department and a mother to her 5-year-old son, Callahan. Things in her life were going well with the exception that her ex-boyfriend, Tim Amacher, was trying to destroy her. They dated for many years but broke up after Nicki had had enough of his toxicity. But, a month after breaking up Nicki found out she was pregnant. After having her son, Nicki hoped that co-parenting would work, but Tim seemed uninterested. That is until she got into a new relationship with MPD officer Donovan Ford. Only then did Tim seem to care about his child. But he went about it in the worst way possible. He began making false claims that Nicki abused their son, and got CPS involved. CPS and a judge obviously believed that Nicki WASN’T abusing Callahan, and gave her full custody. So what did Tim do? He got his new girlfriend to try and kill Nicki. But she failed. Nicki survived being shot twice and lived to get justice. Both Tim and Colleen are in prison and will remain there for many, many years.

Trina Hunt was a deeply loved, highly respected woman living in Port Moody, British Columbia. She was fun, kind, generous and had a zest for life that most people don’t have. She was married to a man named Iain Hunt, and based on the reporting there didn’t appear to be any major issues in the relationship. However, on January 18th, 2021, he reported her missing after returning from work and not being able to find her. As HIS story goes, he and Trina went to a campsite on January 16th together and didn’t bring their phones because they were doing a “digital detox.” Nobody knows what the couple did on the 17th, because unfortunately, Iain has been super vague about the details… Police and volunteers searched high and low for her, and then, over 2 months later, her remains were uncovered near the area of the campsite they visited that weekend. Is it just a terrible coincidence her remains were found where he said they last visited... or is he responsible?

Moriah “Mo” Wilson was a 25-year-old cycling prodigy, and was quickly becoming one of the most famous female cyclists of her time. She was the “up and coming” star of that world, and in May of 2022, was planning on attending a race in Texas where she was expected to win. However, just days before the race, Mo was shot and killed inside a friend’s house. Investigators would quickly learn that Mo had spent the day with Colin Strickland, a guy she dated for about 2 weeks the previous October. Within the first 24 hours they had their suspect, and it was Colin’s on-again / off-again girlfriend, Kaitlin Armstrong. Surveillance cameras place her car circling the place of the murder the hour leading up to the shooting, her gun matched the shell casings found around Mo’s body, and much more. All the evidence pointed to Kaitlin. But before police could make an arrest, she fled to Costa Rica using her sister’s passport. It took over 40 days to locate her, but once they did, she was arrested and charged with 1st-degree murder. While in custody, she made a failed escape attempt too, but in the end, she was ultimately sentenced to 90 years in prison.

Amber Alyssa Tuccaro was a young mother and member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation, living in Fort McMurray, Canada. In August of 2010, while on a trip to Edmonton with her son and a friend, Amber decided to hitchhike into the city, but after doing so, she was never seen again. Her mom reported her missing. However, the RCMP wouldn't listen and didn't care. They did next to nothing to search for Amber and even destroyed her personal belongings. For 2 years, her family was without answers until August of 2012 came around, and the RCMP released a 1-minute recording from a 17-minute call that Amber placed on the day it's believed she died. That day, Amber called her brother and because he was incarcerated, it was recorded and stored. In the recording, you can hear Amber begin to worry that the man who picked her up is not taking her where she wants to go. Her body was found 4 days after the recording was released, and there has been no justice to this day.

Mary Yoder was the picture of health, she loved the outdoors, tending to her garden, and working at her family-owned chiropractic office with her husband, Bill. But in July of 2015 she became mysteriously ill. After 2 days in the hospital, and 8 total heart attacks, Mary lost her life. Nobody could explain what happened to her until a poison control expert solved the mystery. Mary died of colchicine poisoning. But who poisoned her? It was her son’s ex-girlfriend, Kaitlyn Conley, who also happened to work at the chiropractic clinic. Isabella Guzman was a difficult child for her divorced parents to raise; however, they did their best to support and love her. But as the years grew on, she became more and more difficult to handle. Her mother, Yun-Mi Hoy, particularly struggled with her and eventually reached her breaking point. She called the cops on her daughter, hoping they'd talk some sense into her. It not only didn't work, but it appeared to make things worse. That same evening, Isabella locked herself and her mother in their bathroom and did the unthinkable... meanwhile, her stepfather was downstairs able to hear the entire attack. After ending her mom's life, Isabella went on the run but was quickly found by police. She ultimately pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, given that doctors diagnosed her with schizophrenia. She's remained in the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo, Colorado since the murder, although she has begun petitioning for her release.

They even arrested him and charged him with her murder in 2021, but just 9 days before his trial was set to begin, the charges were dropped. On the night of February 16th, 1929, Lucy Doheny, wife of Ned Doheny (son of the oil baron Edward L. Doheny) heard a gunshot in her home – The Greystone Mansion – at about 11:30 PM. She called the family doctor, and only when he arrived did she go investigate the noise. She and the doctor made their way to the source of the noise, where they discovered Hugh Plunkett, Ned's childhood friend, distraught, holding a gun. When Plunkett saw the two, he ran into Ned's room, and another gunshot was heard. Mrs. Doheny and the family doctor rushed in to find both Ned and Plunkett dead on the ground. The official story in the papers the next day was that Plunkett let himself into the mansion (he had a key), had shot Ned, then himself. Case closed.

Before his death, Jared Bridegan was regarded as a loving father, husband, and devoted member of the LDS church. He worked a career in User Experience Design and was most well-known for his role at Microsoft. Jared had two children from his first marriage to Shanna Gardner, and following their divorce, he met the true love of his life, Kirsten, and together they had another two children. But in February of 2022, everything changed when Jared was shot to death in an ambush-style attack just a few miles down the road from his ex-wife's house. Since then, three people have been arrested as part of the conspiracy to murder 33-year-old Jared Galen Bridegan.

On September 16th, 2017, 5-year-old Dulce Alavez was playing with her younger brother in a New Jersey park when she just disappeared. Oakley Carlson was only five years old when she went missing while under the care of her biological parents. Originally placed with a foster family, Oakley was a happy, loving, and friendly baby. But after she was placed back with her abusive parents, she started allegedly acting out, and looking physically unwell in photos. Kristin Smart was a 19 year old college student who went missing at the end of her freshman year in 1996. After being out at a party on her own, and too intoxicated to return to her dorm on her own, partygoers let her leave the party in the arms of another student, Paul, who had offered to bring her back to her room. She was never seen again. Years later, with new leads, police were able to continue their investigation and make arrests in connection with Smart’s case.

On April 3rd, 2004, 23-year-old Alonzo Brooks went out to a party in Linn County, Kansas. When Brooks didn’t return home that night, friends and family got nervous and got authorities involved. After a search by police and the FBI, his family organized a volunteer-led search team, and they were able to locate his body nearby. His cause of death is still indeterminate.

In May 2019, Jennifer Dulos, mother of five, dropped her kids off at school, and then disappeared. She was last seen near her home in New Canaan, Connecticut. When she was reported missing by concerned family and friends, police went to the home to take a look, and found blood in the garage. Chloe Stein is a 23 year old from Pennsylvania who is now facing charges after fabricating a kidnapping story. Before she was located, she was last seen leaving work at 10:30 pm on May 1st. One day in January 2015, Butch Knight called 911 to tell authorities that he had strangled his wife Sara to death, and then disappeared. Knight was known for being verbally abusive to not only Sara, but to her young daughters as well. He also refused to hold down a job, instead choosing to control every aspect of Sara’s life without contributing anything to it.
