Featured in TIR Episode 223: Guitarist Fred Jenkins, a longtime member of the Gap Band as well as Rick James’ 1980s musical family. That included Gap’s III through V albums that contained funk jams like “Burn Rubber,” “Humpin’,” “Early in the Morning,” “You Dropped a Bomb on Me,” “Talkin’ Back” and “Party Train,” along with mellow classics like “Yearning for Your Love” and “Outstanding.”
