SHOW NOTES
On today’s show, the internet screwed everything up so we’re pre-recorded! (Also Objectively Dan is joined by Eric Murphy of Talk Heathen, which is cool.) Our long holiday break is over and we’re ready to find some truth!

Curtis kicks things off with his thoughts on astral projection as a reality. In a shocking turn of events, we quickly find that this person and Eric share a hobby of communing with ceiling fans after using “shamanic substances.”

On episode 02.36 of Truth Wanted, a prophecy was offered by caller John in Missouri, that on December 15th something was supposed to happen. We never figured out what was supposed to happen, because nothing happened. Huge flop. NEXT!

Laura calls back to update us on the status of her tulpa, and Eric is entranced by tulpas. Laura draws comparison between talking to her (admittedly imagined) tulpa and religious prayer, which moves into a discussion about how the “feeling of god” can often be found in secular experiences. Eric falls in love with the word “tulpamancy.”

Dylan seems to think that “theory” isn’t an accurate word for what “conspiracy theories” really are. Dylan offers evidence of a 9/11 conspiracy theory--not a kooky conspiracy theory, actually, a kind of unremarkable one. He does a similar thing with JFK conspiracy theories. Eric somehow turns the last piece on JFK into a motivational speech.

Timm expresses love for D&D, Eric shares in that love, and Dan calls Eric a nerd. He discusses his journey as an ex-Mormon who once preached as an “ex-gay” minister, who came out as gay around 38 after he left his faith. Now, Timm talks about being a druid pagan atheist with a tulpa-like belief about nature...it’s mostly metaphor.

Brock in Mississippi follows up on D&D talk by saying he started questioning religion when people around him told him D&D was “demonic.” Brock seems concerned about people taking their political affiliations, party or individual figure, to such levels that they seem to be religiously devoted.
