The “apocalypse” and “armageddon,” along with other similar terms, can be interpreted as literal, figurative, or completely meaningless. Either way, they make for great radio, movies, tv, and print media. From a “nuclear apocalypse” and “climate apocalypse,” to a “COVID-19 apocalypse,” or an “AI apocalypse,” the motifs overwhelm us and sell like commodities to people hungry for meaning and purpose.
