The 2025 Presidential inauguration of Donald Trump has been painted with the broad brush of hero, the return of the king, and the start of a golden age in America. But the whole thing is marred with caesar-augustus worship, executive orders, and pardons from the previous administration. Biden pardoned people for unspecified crimes and Trump wants to investigate Biden’s executive orders while issuing a slew of his own during his first day in office. Meanwhile, the sheer cost of an inauguration for any party leader reaches into the quarter-billion dollar territory. The focus on issued orders, non-specific pardons, and hundreds of millions spent on parties is yet another example of the core problem in America. Trump’s statement on defeating enemies and expanding territories is something that reeks of imperialism not Republicanism, and the big party is the definition of waste.
