Under the Library – A Call of Cthulhu Podcast
On this episode of Under the Library:
This week on Under the Library, Sister B rushes Ethan out of the pharmacy to take refuge with the nuns in the convent. Suspecting that she might find answers to her questions in New Bloodstone, Sister B decides to leave Los Alamos, taking Ethan with her for his own safety.
Colette shares with Eddie and Buddy the most sensitive parts of her visions from the previous night. Eddie decides it's time to fill someone else in on the case and, not trusting Agent Smithson, instead calls his colleague Jimmy. Fearing for her health and searching for answers, Colette decides to find a doctor in town to examine her.
Sam, having arrived at the hotel with circus peanuts in hand, goes to the front desk to ask after Elroy. The man behind the desk is clearly protective of Elroy, but finally directs Sam to his room. Sam finds a man who is incredibly welcoming and friendly, yet clearly unbalanced, and proceeds to get him drunk. As the session comes to a close, Elroy complains of a headache.

Under the Library, an actual-play Call of Cthulhu podcast, where cosmic horror is steeped in mystery and slathered with self-deprecating humor. Our main storyline, a sandbox created by our Keeper (Michael), is set in (a fictitious) 1942 New Mexico and follows the misadventures of Collette (Emily), Eddy (Scott), Sam (Rick), Sister B (Wayne), and Buddy (Arthur). We focus on narrative, improv, and character building. We may stick our heads in front of a train because that’s what our character would do, and when we look under the bed even the Keeper may not know what we’ll find. We’re crafting a story, creating flawed characters, suspenseful events, and fulfilling revelations. Call of Cthulhu is a horror TTRPG; characters die horribly graphic deaths. It’s for mature audiences, but played by immature people.
