Amo (@itsmeamo / Wuza / Euforiq) presents United We Rise Podcast Nr. 151 ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ▌I Did you gain something positive from this time with Corona? A few weeks before the pandemic lockdown, I got back from a tour in Mexico and had already made arrangements to move from Oslo to Berlin with my girlfriend. At that time, the whole topic of "Coronavirus" was something I didn't even take seriously until I started seeing emails from all the booking managers, one club after the other, canceling all their events. With no plan of getting a full-time "normal" job, I was shocked and a bit paralyzed at first. I was able to get a job and could feel a bit more relaxed, but there was of course something missing. My fingers were itching to play and I started recording countless mixes and also got back to working on producing music in Ableton. This of course gave me some form of stimulation, but the thought of not knowing how long it would be until my next gig or even just going to a club was pure torture. What I did realize after a few months was that I was able to really relax and find some kind of inner calmness, something which was pretty hard considering my very hectic life before that. I also had time to get to know the beautiful city of Berlin in a way I'm sure I would never be able to if circumstances were different. It also gave me a lot of time to put focus on other different projects, music collectives, and labels that I'm currently very much in love with. Such as United We Stream! I've followed your project since the beginning and I am more than thrilled to finally be a part of this! ▌II Did your approach on creating music change during the pandemic and did it maybe even influence your style? Most of the people that have been with me for some time, know that I liked to play pretty versatile sets. Considering my love for most genres, I tried not to make it too experimental and "artsy", but I always found it fun to surprise the audience with something. Just to hit them with something surprising and different. Thinking back to before the pandemic. I definitely enjoyed playing around back home in Norway, but not so much in other countries. I believe my focus was to give the audience something more consistent since I was probably not as comfortable doing that with people in other places in the world, as much as I would with familiar faces that I would see on almost a weekly basis in clubs around Norway. Now, I find myself aiming to give people an experience that goes along with the music that I myself want to produce. Also, I want to have a style that people can relate to more and expect from me at most of the shows that I get booked to. I'm not gonna lie, you will surely find me doing something playful and out of the ordinary sometimes somewhere. Just for old times sake! ████████████████████████████████████████████████ █ Amo (@itsmeamo / Wuza / Euforiq) SC - https://soundcloud.com/itsmeamo FB - https://www.facebook.com/amomusic.no/ IG - https://www.instagram.com/amomusic_no/ █ UNITED WE STREAM (Berlin / Global) FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/unitedwestream/ WEB - https://unitedwestream.berlin/ INSTAGRAM - https://www.instagram.com/unitedwestream/ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ █ HASHTAGS #amo #wuza #euforiq #noqueue #accessallareas #arteconcert #soundcloudpodcasts #music #electronicmusic #melodictechno #afrohouse #organichouse #deephouse #house #techno #electronica #downtempo #disco #techno #ambient #italo #wave
