Joyce Muniz (@joytoy / Exploited, Pets Recordings) presents United We Stream Podcast Nr. 30 ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ▌I Did your approach on creating music change during the pandemic and did it maybe even influence your style? The pandemic definitely influenced my style, especially for the production of my second Album which is almost done. During the pandemic I finally found some time to listen to different genres, different sounds. I finally had the time to experiment with different sounds with no rush. I was able to try new things and also make some music that is not only dance floor orientated. ▌II What’s your favorite food? What’s your history with music in general and DJ-ing especially? I started djing at the age of 16. Back then it was mostly Drum & Bass, BreakBeat and Hip hop. A couple years later I became a resident at Dub Club. Dub Club was a very important Monday night party at flex. They booked all kinds of Headliners from all types of genres, because of that I had to play the warm up with the right sound. So I started to buy records from all different styles like House, Electro, Hip Hop and even Dub/Reggae. I am pretty sure that this experience influenced me as a DJ and producer. ▌III How did you prepare this mix and what was your main inspiration? I recorded this set basically on the road at the hotel in Croatia when I was playing at the Lighthouse Festival. The Festival is by the sea so the nature and the good summer vibes definitely influenced me for this mix.
