Lask (@laskmusic / Divine Species) presents United We Rise Podcast Nr. 117 ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ▌I Did your approach on creating music change during the pandemic and did it maybe even influence your style? My approach definitely changed a lot since the pandemic. March 2020 was when I decided to transition from in the box production, to out of the box. I bought a Digitakt in July 2020 and since then have solely focused on creating music externally. Doing this has definitely changed my style a lot, the new music I'm writing is much less structured and more flow based. In saying that, my output of finished tracks has halted as its a whole new process, going from recording jams to then getting 30 minute jams in to 7minute tracks is difficult for my creative side. I'm still getting used to it after two years but I'm slowly figuring out the best workflow for myself. ▌II What’s your history with music in general and DJ-ing especially? I grew up attending music festivals as a kid, so I was introduced to electronic music at a very early age, probably 3 or 4 years old. Infected mushrooms converting vegetarians was one of my favourite tracks as a kid. I stopped going to festivals around 6 or 7 and then started again when I was thirteen onwards to now. Aside from that as a teen I spent a lot of time at abandoned warehouse raves which taught me a bit about hard techno, speed core and dnb. I think all of the experience I've had could have only eventuated in to me being a producer and DJ. ▌III What’s your favorite drink while being behind the decks in the Club?
