Mila Stern (https://soundcloud.com/mila-stern) presents United We Rise Podcast Nr. 045 🗯🗯 How Did Corona change your artist life? 🗯🗯 I’m not on the road anymore, obviously. I really miss travelling and since work and private interests are so much connected as a DJ I also miss many of my friends who I don’t see anymore. Since March I had many ups and downs. There were times where I was really un-inspired. Sometimes I need these tired, grumpy days after a long weekend to get into my music mood. The only feedback on your work is happening online such as comments and likes and followers - which are super nice, don’t get me wrong - but this feedback doesn’t replace a crowd on a party. To play a few small festivals and Open Airs this summer got me back on track. I took many mental photographs to have the memories of these moments to keep them as some sort of tool to remember them over the hard winter time. I try to stay active. With the beginning of the pandemic I started a weekly radio show together with my friend and colleague Mira until summer. We continue doing this irregular now. You will find my newest track you will find in this Podcast. It will be released December 1st on the 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch Compilation at Kiosk I.D.. I’m motivated now to continuously work on my own productions - finally! Another for me very important project is working with the Bewegungsfreiheit solidarity party crew which raises money and awareness for refugees, their support structures and their situation in and around Berlin. In times like these you need new ideas how to do that without throwing a party. There is an ongoing donation campaign on an online platform. In the next weeks there are some nice Bewegungsfreiheit merchs available such as hoodies and shirts - great Christmas/ end of the year gift by the way ;) In addition to that we plan to release a compilation next year with tracks of close artists. And of course we - my Station Endlos crew and I - have to figure out how to adapt our plans to the current situation. We were supposed to open our venue in Halle in April this year. Usually the crew builds many festival stages during the summer which was only possible in a very limited way this year. Of course until now we couldn’t open our new home as we hoped. Let’s see which shenanigans we can plan for the upcoming year. 🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯 I recorded the mix at home in my small cozy apartment in Berlin. I was in quarantine because I had contact with someone who got tested positive. Luckily I don’t have any symptoms. I’m very good in spending time on my own and I don’t get bored that quickly. But when I recorded the podcast I slowly felt the insanity of not being able to leave my one room apartment, not even for a walk outside or to bring the trash down slightly kicking in. 🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯 There are so many: world peace, everything for everyone until every person is happy, a healthy planet with healthy people and so on and so forth… Well, maybe a bit smaller: I really don’t want this situation to be the new normal.
