Minco (https://soundcloud.com/xoxominco) presents United We Rise Podcast Nr. 049 🗯🗯 How Did Corona change your artist life? 🗯🗯 As ambiguous as it is, there is no way to answer it simply. On the one hand, I do miss the audience, the intimacy and the energy one can create and share through listening and dancing during a live DJ performance. On the other hand, an artist is an artist and remains an artist regardless of what is happening in the “outer world”. From this perspective, everything that is happening can be good as a point of departure for further artistic explorations and experiments, and I am simultaneously really thankful for the spaces and the rhythms the current Pandemic has opened up. At the moment I am working more and more in the context of galleries and museums and happy for my recent collaboration with the Gallery Wedding in Berlin. Also, I am discovering more and more rudimental ways of working with sound, frequency and vibration and currently develop my practice as a Gong player offering different types of experiences to different audiences in unusual settings. There is always a deeper integration and meaning to everything that unfolds around us. I think I will leave it here but you can always hit me up if you'd like to know more. 🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯 I have recorded my mix live in my studio in Berlin, with a beautiful view into the backyard of an old German building. I am on the last floor here and my main view is a massive chunk of the sky, which is also a sonic space I am always aware of when working on my sets. It is a bliss to say the least. 🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯 Whether post- Corona or with Corona I am not wishing anything for myself per se. My wish is that this situation is a profound lesson and a wake-up call for everyone to be more where you are in the moment, in here and now. Be present in every day and be in the moment. This is pretty much the same as what I expect from a live performance as well, creating a moment of presence together as a shared common experience. There is only now. The more we are here the better it is for all of us.
