She Knows (https://soundcloud.com/sheknowsmusic) presents United We Rise Podcast Nr. 054 🗯🗯 How did Corona change your artist life?🗯🗯 When the first lockdown started in March 2020, we were 2 weeks ahead of a touring year that would have been amazing! Besides our hand-picked home-favourite festivals in the summer where we love to play, like Fusion Festival, Garbicz Festival and Sa Terza Metari, we were co-producing with our visual artist Robert Metzner (Conzum) in collaboration with the Zeiss-Planetarium in Jena, a 3D surrounding sound and visual show including dance interventions. This show is for sure something we are willing to retake as soon as it will be possible again. We also had some bookings confirmed in Africa for which we were coordinating a Mini Tour together with NAPALMA music. Well, some things still happened and other got cancelled, but completely new things came up as well. Last year She Knows got two sponsorships from the Musicboard Berlin. The first one was to produce our second EP Natural Medicina and it’s official videoclip released last June on Sirin Music, for what we had the chance to collaborate with other amazing international artists. The second sponsorship we received in October 2020 for the inland residency at Sternhagen Gut, Uckermark, curated by Gudrun Gut. During this residency Marcel and I had the chance to explore other ways of composing together. We have been using and experimenting the available technologies which allows us to work with physical absence. The Pandemic forced everyone to find new ways of working together. 🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯 This mix is made with Love and admiration for our beloved and impressive electronic music scene of Berlin. It somehow felt like a fantastic puzzle featuring great tracks of what has been our influences over the past decade. Basically what we had over the past 10 years in Berlin, not only in terms of electronic music production, not only in terms of hosting international and eclectic live acts - the best of the best in electronic and dance music. Berlin has been that stage hosting the best dancers. In electronic music dancing people are the source, dancing people are the stars. With this we just want to say: THANKS, BERLIN 🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯 We do not know in which form we will evolve, we do not know what kind of events we might be able to play at in the future. But in terms of music, we are not in a hurry, we compose when we feel the inspiration to compose, we record when we have the time or money to do so, we release when we have something to show, this is the way we like to curate our project. For the moment we can only say that from March on, we will retake the production of our upcoming EP, that resulted from material recorded during the artist residency at Sternhagen Gut. We also joint recently the studio of Zeno Mainardi in Mitte, having again a studio room changes everything, and we are very happy about it.
