Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist Kevin Painchaud joins the podcast to tell his story of growing up in Santa Cruz, CA and how a terrible car accident when he was in high school that left him in a coma for four days would end up giving him an incredible new outlook on life and an insatiable appetite for other people's stories, which would work nicely with his new found love of photography. During our conversation Kevin talks about his early days in photojournalism and how that would lead to working in the film world as a director and producer and even give him a regional Emmy nomination before returning to his first love of photojournalism. We also discuss the fact that even in a small town you can find a pulitzer winning story, where he draws the most creative inspiration in his life, what photojournalism has taught him about humanity, and the advice he gives to others chasing their own creative dreams.
