BIO CEO Jim Greenwood, An Innovation Led Assault on COVID19

Jim Greenwood is President and CEO of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) in Washington, D.C., representing over 1,000 biotechnology companies and academic institutions in more than 30 countries worldwide. In this podcast, we discuss how BIO is at the front lines of the battle to find treatments and cures for COVID19, by harnessing the many technological breakthroughs of the last two decades. A former member of congress, Jim Greenwood represented Pennsylvania's Eighth District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2005 when he became BIO’s CEO, and his deep relationships on Capitol Hill and policy expertise have substantially raised BIO’s profile and advocacy work. Under his leadership, he has successfully doubled the size of BIO, as well as grown its international influence on global biotechnology innovation. After a hugely successful tenure as BIO’s CEO, Jim Greenwood announced that he will be stepping down at the end of the 2020 fiscal year.
