The 1988 murder of Julie Ward and her family’s journey to get her justice is inspiring and tragic.

Many people have been charged with her murder, but none have been convicted.

Julie’s father, John Ward, spent 35 years and millions of dollars fighting for justice and was able to elicit investigations that proved both the Kenyan and British governments took action to cover up the murder of his daughter.

When 39-year-old Ericka Hogg went missing, she was living an alternative lifestyle with a group many have likened to a cult, and the last person to see her has given conflicting stories about the day she went missing. 

Ericka Hogg was last seen on May 17, 2018, in the 7800 block of Deer Creek Road in Selma, Oregon. Ericka is white, 5’6”, 100-130 pounds, with hazel eyes and light brown hair with rainbow-colored highlights. She was last seen wearing a green jacket vest and purple moccasins. She has a marijuana leaf tattoo on her right bicep and a tattoo of the sun in between her shoulder blades.

On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 25-year-old Samantha Sperry went missing in Graves County in Kentucky, where she spent that day with her boyfriend, Rhen, and his father, Dusty. She went missing after riding a four-wheeler with Dusty into the nearby woods. Her case remains unsolved.

In 2015, 26-year-old Elizabeth Salgado moved from Mexico to one of the safest cities in the United States, Provo, Utah, to further her education. Just three weeks later, on April 16, 2015, she went missing. Her remains were later recovered, and her death is believed to be a homicide. Suzanne Morphew was reported missing from Maysville, Colorado, on May 10, 2020, Mother’s Day. Her bicycle was found at the bottom of a ravine that evening.

As friends came forward and investigators learned more about Suzanne, the investigation pointed in one direction— to Suzanne’s husband, Barry Morphew, who claims the two had a “perfect” marriage. Meanwhile, Suzanne was secretly documenting abuse and, by her friend’s accounts, preparing to leave him and start a new life.

In a case that appeared to be open and shut, a DNA sample found in Suzanne’s car put the prosecution’s entire case in jeopardy, and some suspect that those involved with the prosecution were corrupt from the start.

After three long years, Suzanne’s body was found on September 22, 2023, in a location that wasn’t even on detectives’ radar, leaving them to reinvestigate Suzanne’s entire case. In April 2024, the results of her autopsy report revealed her death to be a homicide.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is asking anyone with information about Suzanne’s disappearance to email [email protected] or call the tip line at 719-312-7530.

Jaliek Rainwalker was only 12 years old when he went missing from Greenwich, New York in 2007. His adoptive parents told police that they believed Jaliek ran away to join a gang. But not long into the investigation, Jaliek’s adoptive father, Stephen Kerr, would be named a person of interest and almost every item he said Jaliek took with him when he left was later found in the family’s homes.

Jaliek Rainwalker went missing on November 1st or 2nd, 2007. At that time Jaliek was 5ft 6 inches tall and weighed approximately 105 pounds. Jaliek is Biracial, he is an African American and Caucasian male with Brown hair and green eyes. At the time of his disappearance, Jaliek's hair had blond highlights. He has several moles on his back. He may also go by the nickname Jay.

Paula Wade was last seen on October 12, 2002, leaving her work at Sam’s Club in Valdosta, GA. She and her 3-year-old son, Brandon Wade, have not been seen since. The pair was planning to move to Florida not long before they went missing. Nothing except for Brandon’s car seat was missing. In April 1981, Sue and John Sharp along with Dana Wingate were brutally murdered in Keddie, California. 12-year-old Tina Sharp was seemingly abducted. Despite some very strong evidence, 43 years later, the case remains officially unsolved.

At about 2 a.m. on July 9th, 1993, 10-year-old Nikki Wasilishin is deep asleep under the covers of her bed when she is woken up by a flashlight in her face. It’s an officer from the Sedona, Arizona police department. He tells her that her parents have gotten into an altercation, and she needs to come with him.

As she’s escorted out of her room and through the front door, she sees her mother’s boyfriend, Russel Peterson, on the couch. He’s rocking back and forth, and his hands are covered in blood. When the officer finally gets Nikki in the police car, she’s met by her 3-year-old little sister, who is repeating the same thing over and over again: “Poppy killed Mommy, Poppy killed Mommy.” 

Their mother, Stephanie Wasilishin, was gone. Over 30 years later, her family is still fighting for answers.

When Detective Randy Lesser from the Spokane Police Department gets assigned a welfare check turned missing person case, he quickly realizes that no one has seen 27-year-old Courtney Holden for nearly two years. Tracey Lynn Kirkpatrick was a 17-year-old with the world at her fingertips and worked hard to make that happen. She had a solid plan to get her bachelor’s degree and then attend law school, and she worked two jobs to realize this dream. But on March 15, 1989, while working at a women’s clothing store in Frederick, Maryland, that was all stripped away from her when she was brutally murdered. The name Ann Marie Burr may sound familiar. Especially if you are well-versed in the history of famous serial killers in the United States, specifically Ted Bundy. In 2009, Claudia Lawrence lived in the idyllic city of York in North Yorkshire, England. At 35 years old, she seemed to have a great routine going for her. She worked as a chef at the University of York’s Goodricke College Roger Kirk Center, about two miles from her home.

Every day, she woke up, went to work, and came home. Several nights a week, she met her regular group of friends at her favorite pub, The Nag’s Head, which was only four doors down from her two-story townhome. She kept a routine so tight that some likened it to the film “Groundhog Day.”

But this routine was interrupted on March 19, 2009, when she seemingly stood up her best friend Suzy Cooper for a night at the Nag’s Head. But Suzy knew this was not like Claudia. Then Suzy found out Claudia hadn’t shown up for work that day either. Suzy says she could have never imagined that her best friend would go missing or that the media pressure she and Claudia’s family craved for her would quickly turn on them.

In the early morning of February 17, 2018, Ryan Shtuka attended a house party on Burfield Drive in Sun Peaks, British Columbia, Canada. What happened after the party is unclear, but it's believed he started walking toward his home, a short distance away. While Ryan was familiar with this walk, the weather was very cold, and there was heavy snowfall at that time.

Ryan didn't make it home, and his supervisor became concerned when he didn't show up for work that morning. Ryan was later reported missing, and an intense search began immediately. Despite these efforts, little is known about what happened to Ryan after that party.

In March 1986, Denise Pflum really had it all. She was at the top of her senior class at Connersville High School in Indiana, in leadership positions in several clubs, and a member of the National Honor Society. She’d been accepted into her college of choice, and it was her last spring break before graduating.

When Denise suddenly goes missing, her father’s cousin is assigned to her case. The Pflums let out a sigh of relief, knowing that someone who knows Denise and cares for her is on the case.

But over 30 years later, the case remains unsolved, and the same rumors about how the investigation was handled and who may have been responsible are still swirling.

18-year-old Denise Pflum was last seen at about 12:30 pm on Friday, March 28th, 1986, at her home in Connersville, Indiana. She is white with brown hair and brown eyes and is 5’6”. At the time of her disappearance, she weighed approximately 135lbs and was wearing striped jeans, a Motley Crue t-shirt, and old sneakers.

12-year-old Celina Mays went missing from her home in Willingboro, New Jersey, on December 16, 1996. Celina was reported missing, but her disappearance wasn’t really treated as a potential crime by her family or local law enforcement. In fact, it took days for police to find out perhaps the most important detail – 12-year-old Celina was pregnant and due in only two weeks.

In 2004, April Beth Pitzer was in a terrifying situation. Nearly a decade after working as an undercover informant for the police, her past is catching up with her. Angela Marie Hammond was 20 years old and four months pregnant when she called her fiancé’ Rob Shafer, from a pay phone in Clinton, Missouri, on April 4, 1991. He was babysitting his younger brother at his mother’s house. Angela was calling to cancel their plans for later that night, she was just too tired to stay out. She planned on heading to their shared home after the call. While speaking with Rob on the phone, a man approached Angela. She gave Rob a description of the man and his vehicle, and they resumed their conversation.

Then Rob hears Angela scream, and he assumes the receiver of the phone, hitting the side of the booth. Rob races to the location of the payphone and sees Angela and the man driving in the opposite direction. He slams on his brakes, puts his vehicle in reverse, and chases them for about two miles before his transmission fails and he loses them. Over the years, few credible leads have emerged in Angela’s case, but thirty years later, investigators say the largest clue may have been right in front of them since day one.

Angela is white with brown eyes and light brown hair, is 4’11”, and weighed approximately 140 pounds at the time of her disappearance. She was last seen wearing a white shirt with black spots, black slacks, and tennis shoes. As of recording this episode, Angela would now be in her 50s, and her child would be in their 30s.

On Sunday, April 16, 2023, 22-year-old Mercedes Vega was attacked and abducted from the parking garage of her apartment complex in Tempe, Arizona. Her vehicle was found behind one of the most popular restaurants in the city near Mill Avenue, but Mercedes was not in it. She was found deceased at approximately 1:15 am on Monday, April 17, 2023, 60 miles away near Tonopah, Arizona, in a vehicle off the I-10 freeway that had been lit on fire. Her murder remains unsolved.

Mercedes was Caucasian and Puerto Rican with a fair complexion, 5’9”, 150lbs, with brown eyes and long black hair. Her vehicle was a 2019, white Dodge Charger with the license plate LUV333. The vehicle she was found in has not been identified.

On Friday, February 22, 1985, in Winfield Township, Pennsylvania, 8-year-old Cherrie Mahan looked forward to attending her friend Jennifer’s 10th birthday party after school. The final bell rang for her third-grade class, and Cherrie headed to her school bus to get home and get ready for the party. At about 4:10 pm, Cherrie and three of her classmates get off the bus at their regular stop on Cornplanter Road, just around the corner from Cherrie’s home. All her friends make it home, but not Cherrie.

Cherrie’s disappearance sparked the creation of the ‘Have you seen me?’ program from The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. But despite this groundbreaking program that has brought thousands of children home, Cherrie remains missing. Investigators are left with a lot of sightings of Cherrie over the years and one very distinct van that they are still trying to track down nearly 40 years later.

Cherrie was last wearing Cabbage Patch Kids earmuffs, a gray coat, a white leotard, a blue denim skirt, blue leg warmers, and beige boots. Her ears are pierced, and she has a dog bite scar on her left arm. At the time of her disappearance, she was 4’2” tall and weighed about 68 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. As of the recording of this episode, she would be in her late 40s.

Suzanne Morphew was reported missing from Maysville, Colorado, on May 10, 2020, Mother’s Day. Her bicycle was found at the bottom of a ravine that evening.

As friends came forward and investigators learned more about Suzanne, the investigation pointed in one direction— to Suzanne’s husband Barry Morphew, who claims the two had a “perfect” marriage. Meanwhile, Suzanne was secretly documenting abuse and, by her friend’s accounts, preparing to leave him and start a new life.

In a case that appeared to be open and shut, a DNA sample found in Suzanne’s car put the prosecution’s entire case in jeopardy, and some suspect that those involved with the prosecution were corrupt from the start.

After three long years, Suzanne’s body was found on September 22, 2023, in a location that wasn’t even on detectives’ radar, leaving them to reinvestigate Suzanne’s entire case.

Sometime between October 3rd and October 4th, 2011, 10-month-old Lisa Irwin went missing from her home in Kansas City, Missouri. Lisa's parents, Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley reported that their daughter had gone missing from her crib at around 4 am on October 4th, 2011.

The circumstances surrounding Lisa's disappearance raised many questions and a lot of speculation. The parents claimed they discovered her missing when Jeremy Irwin returned home from work late at night. The family's home showed no signs of forced entry, but the front door was unlocked. Deborah Bradley has also admitted to consuming alcohol on the night of the disappearance, which added complexity to the investigation.

However, three witnesses reported seeing a strange man in the area that night carrying a baby who appeared to be wearing just a diaper despite the cold weather. One witness picked local handyman, John Tanko, out of a lineup. While Tanko was cleared, his connection to a mysterious phone call allegedly made from one of the stolen cell phones continued to perplex followers of Lisa’s case.

Despite media coverage and public interest, the case remained unresolved, and Baby Lisa Irwin's whereabouts remain unknown.

Lisa is white, and at the time of her disappearance, she had blond hair, blue eyes, and was about 30 inches tall with two just bottom teeth, a small bug bite under her left ear, and a beauty mark on her right outer thigh. It is worth noting that she was sick with a cold at the time and was last seen wearing purple shorts and a purple shirt with white kittens on it.

On Deanna Cremin's 17th birthday, in March 1995, her mother gave her what most teenagers in the 90s coveted: her very own pager. Deanna was a typical teenager; she would skip class, sneak the occasional beer or cigarette, and she enjoyed spending time with her long-term boyfriend. But she was also very responsible. She had a job at the local supermarket and just finished training to become a cashier; she also babysat for many families in her neighborhood and even hosted some children’s programming on her local community access TV station.

Deanna was finishing her junior year at Somerville High School in Massachusetts, and her future looked bright. While she wasn’t entirely sure what she wanted to do after, many believe she would have worked with kids.

On March 29, just a few days after her 17th birthday, she turned in an assignment outlining the top 5 most important goals for her life.

1.    Graduate high school

2.    To find a successful job that I enjoy

3.    To have a dark green convertible mustang

4.    To have a happy family

5.    To live a long time, healthy

Under this, she’s asked to choose which one of these five goals is the most important, and Deanna chose number 5, to live a long and healthy life.

That night, Deanna went to her boyfriend's apartment after school like she normally did. A few hours later, she called her mom to tell her she was going to miss her 10 pm curfew so they could finish watching TV together, but she’d be home later.

By midnight, Deanna hadn’t made it home. And when her mother paged her, Deanna never called her back. It wasn’t until the next morning that she got the news…Deanna had been found by two of the kids she babysat; she’d been strangled to death and sexually assaulted less than half a mile from her home.

Despite big promises from authorities about getting Deanna justice, it’s been almost 30 years with no answers.

It was late September 2023 when Chelsea Grimm, a 32-year-old woman from San Diego, California, embarked on a cross-country trip to Connecticut for a wedding. However, after a few days on the road, she only managed to reach Phoenix, Arizona. After calling her parents, Janet and Stephen Grimm, she realized that the trip was too ambitious for her to make alone. Instead of going back home, Chelsea decided to spend a few days camping in Arizona before heading back. She warned her parents that she would be in areas without cell service and not to worry if they couldn't reach her.

Several days passed, and Chelsea's parents hadn't heard from her, so they reported her missing on October 4th. The next day, Chelsea's abandoned vehicle was found on a dirt road with two flat tires. It was locked, and her belongings, including her phone, wallet, tent, sleeping bag, and her beloved pet bearded dragon, were missing.

Initially, Chelsea's parents and investigators thought that she might have gone camping, but as they dug deeper, they found out that several things had happened between the last time Chelsea spoke to her parents. For instance, Chelsea had an encounter with the local sheriff's office, and she tried to pay for a hotel room using Euros, stating that she wanted to stay off the grid.

Chelsea Grimm was last seen on September 30, 2023, northeast of Ash Fork, Arizona. She is a white female with light brown or blondish hair and blue eyes. She is 5’8”, weighs approximately 115-135lbs, and has a tattoo of a vine with leaves on it on her left forearm. Her 2019 White Ford Escape SUV has been recovered.

On March 31, 2006, 27-year-old Brian Shaffer went out with his friend Clint for a night of barhopping in Columbus, Ohio. At around 1:55 a.m., Brian was seen talking to two women outside the Ugly Tuna Saloona. Two minutes later, he walked back towards the entrance of the bar.

According to Clint and another friend named Meredith, they last saw Brian when he said he wanted to talk to the band and went back inside the bar. They say that they couldn’t find him after this. Before leaving, Clint and Meredith tried calling Brian, but his phone went straight to voicemail, so they went home.

Two days later, Brian was reported missing by his father. And I think what happened next is why Brian Shaffer’s case is so puzzling. When police reviewed surveillance footage from the Ugly Tuna Saloona, they saw Brian leave the bar, speak to the two people, and re-enter the bar. But there was no video of Brian leaving the bar again.  

To this day, police still don’t know what happened to Brian that night. There are countless theories about what happened that night, but very few answers.

At the time of his disappearance, Brian Shaffer was 27 years old, 6’2”, 160 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing an olive green short-sleeved polo shirt with a white long-sleeved shirt underneath, blue jeans, Adidas sneakers, and a yellow cancer awareness bracelet. On May 1st, 2002, 24-year-old Evelyn Hernandez was pregnant with her second son and only a week from her due date. That morning, Evelyn called one of her sisters, then dropped Alex off at pre-school, ran a few errands, picked Alex back up, and ended the night by talking to her other sister about her upcoming baby shower.

it wasn’t an easy pregnancy for Evelyn. She had worked as a vocational nurse, at Costco, and the Clift Hotel in San Francisco’s Union Square but eventually suffered complications with her pregnancy and was on disability by the end of it. On top of that, when she was about four months pregnant, she discovered that the father of her child, 36-year-old Herman Aguilera, was hiding a huge secret from her… he was married to another woman.  

However, Evelyn was somehow juggling all her responsibilities and holding it all together. She was planning for the baby shower and even had a name picked out for the new baby, Fernando. But after Evelyn hangs up with her sister… as Evelyn’s due date approaches… she stops answering phone calls and stops taking Alex to school.

About a week after that phone call with her sister, on May 7th, Evelyn’s due date, Herman Aguilera reported her and Alex missing to the police. Then, just a few weeks later, in July, Evelyn's remains were discovered in the San Francisco Bay. She had been murdered. Unfortunately, her unborn son and Alex have not been found, and the case remains unsolved.

Evelyn and Alex Hernandez were last heard from around 9 p.m. on May 1, 2002, in San Francisco. Evelyn’s partial remains were found on July 24, 2002, in the San Francisco Bay. She was 24 years old when she was murdered and had brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, five-year-old Alexis, or Alex as he was more commonly known, was four feet tall, weighed 45 pounds, and had brown hair, and brown eyes. He may also go by Alex Hernandez-Repollet.

Today I am joined by Josh Hallmark from the podcast True Crime Bullshit, to discuss the case of Alice Looney.

At midnight on August 16, 2004, 38-year-old Alice Looney was dropped off at a Wapato, Washington, store on the Yakama Indian Reservation. This was the last confirmed sighting of her.

Over a year later, in November 2005, Alice's remains were discovered on an island in Status Creek, located on public land off Highway 22. The cause of her death remains unknown. However, investigators believe it’s possible she was strangled, and some theorize she may have been a victim of serial killer Israel Keyes.

Today, I’m joined by Laurah Norton to discuss the case of Susan Lund and the nearly 30-year journey to identify her. Laurah worked for years to help identify Susan with an incredible team of experts, but her case is still in need of justice.

According to Paul Lund, On Christmas Eve, 1992, his 25-year-old wife, Susan Lund, went missing on a walk to the grocery store to buy ingredients for their family’s holiday dinner. He reported her missing not long after.

About a month later, near the end of January 1993, Susan’s partial remains were found near Ina, Illinois, in Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park. Unfortunately, Susan remained unidentified for decades and was only known as Ina Jane Doe. In a strange twist of fate, not long after she went missing, Susan’s case was closed after a mysterious woman came forward and identified herself as Susan.

Susan’s children spent decades believing she may have intentionally left them and never chose to reach out again.

But in early 2021, Dr. Amy Michael, assistant professor of anthropology at The University of New Hampshire, along with writer, researcher, and host Laurah Norton, were approved by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to reexamine the case.

Through their journey, they worked with a variety of experts to correct misconceptions about Ina Jane Doe. When the genealogists at Redgrave Research joined the efforts, they finally identified her as Susan Lund in 2022.

Laurah Norton recently chronicled this incredible journey along with the science behind it in her upcoming book, Lay Them to Rest. So, I invited her on the show to discuss her book, Susan’s case, the inner workings behind doing this type of work, and, of course, how you can help.

On May 25, 1989, 44-year-old Cindy James disappeared from Richmond, British Columbia, in Canada. Immediately, Cindy’s friends and family were worried for her safety because, for about seven years, she had suffered almost 100 incidents of harassment from a stalker. These incidents ranged from threatening phone calls and letters to physical attacks that almost killed Cindy.

Searches for Cindy began immediately. Then, two weeks later, Cindy’s body was found in the yard of an abandoned house around a mile from where she was last seen. She’d been drugged and strangled. 

After a month of investigating, police concluded that Cindy had completed suicide in an elaborate ruse staged to look like a murder. They further alleged that she’d faked all the incidents of harassment over the years. But Cindy’s family and many experts disagree.

On April 12, 2017, 60-year-old Evelyn Lucinda "Cindy" Guido was reported missing from Gilbert, Arizona. No one had seen or heard from her for almost a week. According to Cindy’s roommate, she was picked up on the evening of April 6. She didn’t say where she was going but said she’d be back.

After months of investigating, it became clear to detectives that some of the men in her life were pointing fingers at each other, and then a search of her apartment confirmed her family’s worst fears.

Cindy’s family reached out to me in hopes of sharing her story, generating leads, and finally getting some answers.

Evelyn Lucinda “Cindy” Guido was last seen on April 6, 2017, in Gilbert, Arizona, near the 200 block of Juniper Avenue. when she was 60 years old, she is white, 5’4”, and 115 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown shoulder-length hair. She sometimes wore blond extensions. She has a full set of dentures a burn scar on her left arm, and wears wire-rimmed reading glasses.

In the summer of 2009, 24-year-old Mitrice Richardson was living in Los Angeles, California. She had recently graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in psychology and was searching for the perfect doctorate program to continue her studies and pursue her dream of becoming a psychologist.

On the night of September 16, she went to a restaurant in Malibu, where she began exhibiting some strange behavior. While some people thought maybe Mitrice was drunk or on some type of drug it became apparent that she was actually struggling with her mental health.

Mitrice didn’t pay her bill, but the workers weren’t really concerned about that. They even discussed pulling their money together to help her. They were more concerned that she was obviously going through some type of crisis. So, they called the police, who then made the call that she did not need to be evaluated by a mental health professional. She was instead arrested and taken to jail. Her car was impounded, along with her cell phone and wallet.

A few hours later, at 12:38 a.m., Mitrice was released without any of her belongings, no money, no phone, and no car.

Almost a year later, in August 2010, Mitrice’s remains were located. Since then, the cause of her death has become a major topic of debate for her loved ones, the city, and across true crime. Almost immediately, investigators said no foul play was involved in Mitrice’s death. 

But her loved ones and even certain members of law enforcement have voiced their concerns that the evidence suggests otherwise.

Mitrice’s mentor, Dr. Ronda Hampton, joins us this week to discuss the case in a very candid interview.

On February 6, 2007, in a wooded area of Ashton Court in Sarasota, Florida, a 14-year-old found a bone sticking out of the ground. Investigators quickly discovered that a woman had been buried in a shallow grave. Unfortunately, they were not able to identify her. For 15 years, she was known as “The Sarasota County Jane Doe.” That is until November 2022, when investigators partnered with DNA Labs International to identify 39-year-old Jeana Lynn Burrus using DNA testing and Genetic Genealogy.

Pretty soon, they discovered Jeana had never been reported missing.

Now, investigators are asking the media and public to share Jeana’s story in hopes of solving her case.

18-year-old Kaysera Stops Pretty Places disappeared in the late hours of August 24 or early hours of August 25, 2019. She was last seen on Rangeview Drive in Hardin, Montana, very close to the border of the Crow Reservation.

On August 29, Kaysera’s body was discovered in the same neighborhood where she had disappeared. The medical examiner ruled her cause and manner of death as undetermined. However, Kaysera’s family believes she was murdered.

At around 3:30 am on March 9, 2019, 25-year-old Aubrey Dameron left her mother’s house near Grove, Oklahoma. She told her family that she was going to meet someone. Aubrey hasn’t been seen since.

This is a case full of confusing leads. Allegations that Aubrey was kidnapped and being held for ransom, an alleged murder confession, and evidence that, in my opinion, needs another look.

For years, Aubrey’s family has searched high and low, but no sign of her has been found. They are desperate for answers.

If you listen to my other podcast, Disappearances, you know that I’ve discussed Aubrey’s case before. I did a joint episode discussing Aubrey and the disappearance of Anthonette Cayedito with a heavy focus on the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous people. It is a very informative episode that is very close to my heart. So, if you’re looking for more information on this epidemic, I absolutely recommend listening to that.

Now we worked on that episode back in 2021, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about these cases, and since then, there have been some updates in Aubrey’s case. So, I thought I would try to bring Aubrey back into the spotlight and draw even more attention to her case with a full-length episode on just Aubrey.

At the time of her disappearance, Aubrey, a 5 foot 9, 130-pound Cherokee woman with brown hair and eyes, was wearing a black leather jacket, black top, black skirt, black knitted hose, and black boots. She has a triquetra symbol tattoo on her back and another tattoo reading "Shorty" (her nickname) on her upper left arm.

On December 17, 2005, 44-year-old Katie O’Shea flew to North Queensland, Australia, with her 11-year-old daughter. They were going to visit Katie’s oldest son Alan and his partner, who were expecting a child in early January.

But when the baby was born on January 9, Katie wasn’t there. According to her daughter Lily, this was completely unlike Katie, who was a doting mother - she lived for her children and would never miss the birth of her first grandchild.

Four days later, on January 13, Alan reported Katie missing. He told police he last saw her on December 29, when he dropped her off on a street in Atherton. He said she had plans to go to a pub and play pool, then go visit her friend in a nearby town.

But when investigators began re-tracing Katie’s steps, they discovered that she never made it to her planned destination.

At the time of her disappearance, Katie was described as standing 171cm (or five feet, seven inches) tall with a slim build. Katie has green eyes, long brown hair, and a tanned complexion. Katie was last seen wearing a short skirt with a button-up shirt and carrying a large red handbag with brown straps.

On January 26, 2011, 27-year-old Ellen Greenberg left her job early due to a snowstorm that blanketed the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area. Just after 6:30 pm, Ellen’s fiancé Sam Goldberg called 911 and reported that he had to break down the door to his and Ellen’s apartment because it had been locked from the inside. When he entered the apartment, he found Ellen in the kitchen with a knife sticking out of her chest.

When officers arrived, they found multiple stab wounds on Ellen’s chest. Deciding these wounds were “superficial,” police quickly determined that Ellen’s death was a suicide, not a homicide.

The next day, an autopsy uncovered 20 stab wounds to Ellen’s chest, stomach, back of her neck, and back of her head. The medical examiner ruled Ellen’s death a murder.

Despite these findings, the police declared Ellen’s death a suicide and closed her case. Since then, for over a decade, Ellen’s parents and a large group of experts have worked to uncover a lot of evidence that suggests Ellen was murdered.

7-year-old Kyron Horman went missing from Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Oregon, on June 4, 2010. Several witnesses state they saw him leaving with his stepmother, Terri Horman. He remains missing to this day.

Daniel Robinson went missing on June 23rd, 2021, from his job site in Buckeye, Arizona. He was 24 at the time. His vehicle was recovered, but Daniel was not. His father, David has been searching for his son relentlessly ever since.

A few weeks before this episode airs, the Buckeye police department released new information about Daniel’s case in a 120-page report. They say they were able to determine that Daniel’s cell phone was at the crash site at 10:05 am on the morning of his disappearance. They revealed that statements from a witness who claims to have seen Daniel that morning do not align with information gathered from Daniel’s vehicle or electronic devices. They also revealed some Google search terms found on Daniel’s devices, including “love changed me,” “delete Instagram account,” “shooting Tempe,” “explosion,” and “I’m okay to do things I hate.”

The week this episode airs marks two years since Daniel went missing. So, I reached out to his father, David, to ask if he’d like to come back on the show to discuss these new updates, where the case stands, and how we can best support the case.

On July 27, 1981, six-year-old Adam Walsh was abducted from the Sears at a Hollywood, Florida mall. For weeks, police searched for Adam, but he was nowhere to be found. On August 10, Adam’s head was found in a canal, more than 100 miles from where he’d last been seen. His body has never been recovered. Adam and his parents, John Walsh and Reve’ Walsh, would go on to forever change the way we treat cases of missing children, and because of Adam, countless children have been brought home.

On June 9, 1995, Colleen Nick was invited to attend a little league baseball game with a few friends in Alma, Arkansas. She took her 6-year-old daughter Morgan Nick with her. Near the end of the game, Morgan went to play with other children. She was only out of her mother’s sight for a few minutes… Morgan has been missing ever since.

Possibly the largest lead in her case was the sighting of a man in a red truck near Morgan shortly before she disappeared. But that lead sat for 26 years until investigators found some damning evidence in what they believe may be the red truck seen next to Morgan the night she went missing.

Morgan is white, with naturally blonde hair and blue eyes. When she went missing, she was approximately 4 feet tall and weighed 55lbs. As of recording this episode, she would now be 34 years old.

Terra's story has been told by so many different people over the years... But like so many of the survivors and family members we speak to on this show, Terra saw some major issues within the true crime entertainment industry and began telling her story in her own words as well as helping others do the same.

I was actually on Terra's podcast, Time Out with Terra, years ago to talk about Alissa. But since then, she and friend of the show, Collier Landry, created The Survivor Squad podcast. I've known Terra for years, but as we discuss, conversations like these aren't exactly casual ones to have with friends over drinks, so this is the first time we've really sat down and talked about everything.

On the night of Valentine’s Day 2015, 27-year-old Erica Alonso went out to an Orange County, California nightclub with her ex-boyfriend, Larry. She told her sister she’d be back that night, but never returned home.

By the morning of February 15th, Erica’s sister still hadn’t heard from her, so she called Larry to ask if he’d seen or heard from Erica. He said that yes, he was with Erica, but they got into a fight, and at around 4 am, she stormed out of his apartment. She drove away, and he hadn’t heard from her since. 

More than two months later, on April 27, Erica’s body was discovered in a remote area of Orange County. She was found wrapped in plastic bags and duct tape. 

Despite this, authorities concluded that foul play was not involved. Her case remains unsolved.

Anaiah Walker entered the Arizona foster care system at age 13. Before her 14th birthday, she was trafficked by adults posing as teenagers online. By age 15, she ran away from several group homes and was officially listed as a missing child with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Just after her 16th birthday, she was supposed to testify against her abusers in court, but on May 22, 2020, Anaiah was found dead in a ditch on Interstate 10 near Watson Road. Her cause of death was high-velocity impact. She has never received justice.

The Buckeye Police Department is searching for a 2016 to 2018 Honda Civic EX or LX in the color Midnight Burgundy Pearl. They say the owner may have replaced the driver’s side door mirror cover, the front bumper, and the left front fog light cover after Anaiah’s death.

26-year-old Madeline “Maddi” Kingsbury went missing from her home in Winona, Minnesota, on March 31st, 2023. That morning, she, and the father of her two children, Adam Fravel, dropped the kids off at daycare and returned home just after 8 am. A few hours later, Adam left the home, taking Maddi’s 2014 dark blue, Chrysler Town and Country Minivan with him. He says that when he returned, Maddi was gone. Her friends and family have not heard from her since. The Winona Police Department has classified Maddi as an endangered missing person, and they do not consider her disappearance to be voluntary.

13-year-old Tabitha Tuders went missing on April 29, 2003, while walking a short distance to her bus stop. Despite extensive searches and investigations, Tabitha has never been found, and her disappearance remains a mystery. There have been many leads and potential suspects over the years, but none have led to finding Tabitha.

Tabitha has sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a birthmark on her stomach and a scar on her finger. Both of her ears are pierced. When she went missing, she was 5’1” and weighed approximately 100 lbs. Today I am discussing one of the most infamous and puzzling missing child cases from Alabama. 12-year-old Sherry Lynn Marler.

Just after the start of summer break in 1984, one morning, Sherry tags along with her stepfather Ray to run some errands. He needs to fix a combine and check on some crops before making the about 30-minute drive into the town center of Greenville to go to the bank.

While I know I would have certainly skipped this trip in favor of sleeping in, Sherry was excited to come along. She LOVES farming. And she looked forward to summer break for days just like this, days where she could be out in the fields checking on the crops, seeing what was new in the feed shop on main street, and I’m sure a million other tasks farmers have to complete to keep their farms up and running.

All of this to say, Sherry was excited to be hanging out with Ray, continuing to learn what it takes to run farms like he does. After fixing the combine and checking on some crops, they make the drive into town. There, Ray parks his truck behind a furniture store, leaves a dollar for Sherry to grab a coke from the vending machine across the street and walks into the bank. 15 minutes later, Ray walks back to the truck, and Sherry is gone.

Before Oakley Carlson turned one, she was taken out of the care of her biological parents Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, and placed with foster parents, Jamie Jo and Erik Hiles. They instantly fell in love with her, and over the next two years or so, they are overjoyed to care for her and watch her grow. They see her first steps, hear her first words, and watch her develop into a happy, confident, well-adjusted toddler.

The plan for Oakley from The Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families, or DCYF, was adoption, presumably with Jamie Jo and Erik. But their dreams of legally becoming a family with Oakley were crushed when they were notified that the plan changed again, and Oakley would be returning to her biological parents at the end of 2019.

After she was returned, there were several calls made to social services about Oakley, including a call from Andrew Carlson’s own mother. But Oakley remained in her biological parent’s care.

Eventually, around the end of 2021, people noticed that Oakley wasn’t with the rest of her family. Due to some quick thinking by Oakley’s sister’s school principal, she ultimately led authorities to uncover that there had been no verified sightings of Oakley for almost a year.

When authorities questioned Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, they shut down and became uncooperative. When they search the family home that had recently been on fire for several hours, they find blood but no Oakley. She remains missing to this day.

Tuesday, May 27, 1994, is just two days after Jenny Lin’s 14th birthday. She comes home from school to an empty house in Castro Valley, California. Like a lot of kids, both of her parents work, and Jenny is expected to get her chores and homework done before they get home. But also, like a lot of kids, especially a lot of teenagers, Jenny decides that before she gets to work on those tasks, she will talk to some friends on the phone. Jenny’s last call ends just after 5 pm. About 30 minutes later, her father, John Lin, calls home to check on her, but there’s no answer. He doesn’t immediately panic; Jenny is a very responsible kid, and she’s used to this routine. She’s probably just doing something and didn’t hear the phone.

Around 7 pm, John walks into a quiet house. He doesn’t see Jenny anywhere. But it’s clear that Jenny had been there. The back door is unlocked, the TV is on, and Jenny’s microwave dinner is sitting on the kitchen counter. After John doesn’t see Jenny on the first floor of the house, he then walks upstairs and notices that the bathroom door in his room is closed.

When he opens the door, the scene John walks into is inconceivable. Jenny is lying face down, covered in blood. Nearly 30 years later, the case is still unsolved, and the Lin family and investigators struggle to make sense of why Jenny was targeted.

21-year-old Tammy Zywicki was an ambitious, upbeat, creative young woman who was about to start her senior year of college. She dreamed of being a professional sports photographer, or a Spanish teacher — she wasn't sure yet.

But in August 1992, Tammy was driving back to college after summer break when she had car trouble on the highway. The next day, her vehicle was found abandoned on I-80 outside Utica, Illinois. A week after that, she was found dead, 500 miles away. Although it’s been over 30 years since Tammy’s murder, investigators believe that with new technology, her case can be solved.

Last year, in December 2022, I posted a minisode about missing 11-year-old, Madalina Cojocari. At that time, she’d been missing for less than two weeks. We didn’t know a lot about her case, mainly that Madalina was reported missing weeks after she was last seen. Which is never a great situation.

You might know Madalina’s case from the last known security footage of her getting off her school bus on November 21, 2022. Video footage like this is so valuable. But in Madalina’s case, they were already behind. This video is the last we know about Madalina’s whereabouts, but she wasn’t reported missing until weeks later on December 15th. So, by the time investigators began working the case, they were already way behind. 

It's now been over 100 days since Madalina was last seen, so I wanted to bring us back to her case to hopefully raise more awareness and talk about some major updates, including a trip her mother made to a very remote area just after Madalina was last seen.

On the evening of Friday, July 24th, 2015, Ariana Walker dropped off her two-year-old son, King Walker, at her father Eugene’s house in Gary, Indiana. This was a normal routine. Ariana attended school on Saturdays in Chicago, about 30 miles away. Every Friday night, she’d drop off King and pick him back up on Saturday after she finished her classes.

On Saturday morning, Eugene Bynum goes to work, Leaving King with his wife, Susanne, and his 21-year-old daughter Diamond Bynum. It’s important to know that Diamond has a medical condition that puts her at the mental capacity of about a 5- to 7-year-old according to her family. While Diamond loves being an aunt to King and playing with him, she just couldn’t quite care for him on her own and needed care herself.

Also, King wasn’t feeling well, so Susanne lays him down for a nap. Diamond and Susanne end up falling asleep as well. But when Susanne woke up about 40 minutes later, both Diamond and King were gone. Despite countless searches and sightings, as well as a named person of interest, they are still missing. 

This is the disappearance of Diamond Bynum and King Walker.

7-year-old Kyron Horman went missing from Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Oregon, on June 4, 2010. Several witnesses state they saw him leaving with his stepmother, Terri Horman. He remains missing to this day.

Before she went missing, 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings lived with her father, Ronald, his father's girlfriend, Misty Croslin, and her four-year-old brother in the small town of Satsuma, Florida. She was her dad's pride and joy, and many people say Misty took to her like a surrogate mother. Haleigh's biological mother lived a couple of hours away, and the kids visited her every other weekend.

But even though Haleigh's caregivers were loving, they weren't exactly your picture-perfect white-picket-fence family. Ronald had occasional brushes with the law, and the 17-year-old Misty, who usually watched the kids at night, struggled with substance use disorder. Their parenting skills and relationship were put under a microscope in February 2009 when Haleigh disappeared from their mobile home in the middle of the night.

In 2006, Kimberly Corban was 20 and attending the University of Northern Colorado when a man broke into her off-campus apartment, held her captive for two hours, and repeatedly assaulted her. After he left, she immediately called 911 and preserved as much evidence as she could until the police arrived. She would later be the key witness at her attacker’s trial, where he was found guilty.

Following this, Kim made it her mission to help others. She released her name to the media in hopes of helping just one victim. Today, she has helped more than she can count.

On Deanna Cremin's 17th birthday, in March 1995, her mother gave her what most teenagers in the 90s coveted, her very own pager. Deanna was a typical teenager, she would skip class, sneak the occasional beer or cigarette, and she enjoyed spending time with her long-term boyfriend. But she was also very responsible. She had a job at the local supermarket and just finished training to become a cashier; she also babysat for many families in her neighborhood and even hosted some children’s programming on her local community access tv station.

Deanna was finishing her junior year at Somerville High School in Massachusetts, and her future looked bright. While she wasn’t entirely sure what she wanted to do after, many believe she would have worked with kids.

On March 29, just a few days after her 17th birthday, she turned in an assignment outlining the top 5 most important goals for her life.

1.    Graduate high school

2.    To find a successful job that I enjoy

3.    To have a dark green convertible mustang

4.    To have a happy family

5.    To live a long time, healthy

Under this, she’s asked to choose which one of these five goals is the most important, and Deanna chose number 5, to live a long and healthy life.

That night, Deanna went to her boyfriend's apartment after school like she normally did. A few hours later, she called her mom to tell her she was going to miss her 10 pm curfew so they could finish watching TV together, but she’d be home later.

By midnight, Deanna hadn’t made it home. And when her mother paged her, Deanna never called her back. It wasn’t until the next morning that she got the news…Deanna had been found by two of the kids she babysat; she’d been strangled to death and sexually assaulted less than half a mile from her home.

Despite big promises from authorities about getting Deanna justice, it’s been almost 30 years with no answers.

When Josh Guimond went missing in 2002, he was in the first semester of his junior year at St. John’s University in Minnesota. While Josh had been extremely ambitious for most of his life, with plans to even run for President when he came of age, this ambition only grew when he was in college. So, when Josh didn’t show up for a very important meeting for the campus’ pre-law society, his friends knew immediately that something was very wrong and reported his absence to campus security.

Investigators believe Josh was last seen earlier that morning walking the path around Stumpf Lake after he left a party around midnight. By most accounts, the early investigation into Josh’s disappearance heavily focused on the possibility that Josh somehow ended up in that lake or another nearby body of water. But as searches were conducted and new information came to light, years later, investigators would admit that they no longer believe Josh was in the water and began to consider foul play.

Over the next few years and decades, Josh’s case becomes riddled with theories as similar cases and new information emerges. Just some of the theories include Josh being in an accident, being the victim of a serial killer, having a secret life, and the possibility that his interest in the recent allegations against St. John’s Abbey led to his demise.

In 2002, when Kara Robinson Chamberlain was just 15 years old, she was in the front yard of her friend’s home in Columbia, South Carolina when a man approached her. At first, he seemed friendly but then he pulled out a gun, pressed it against her neck, and forced Kara into a storage bin in the back of his vehicle.

Kara was held and assaulted for 18 hours before she escaped. Through the information she was able to provide to law enforcement, they discovered that the man who took her was Richard Evonitz. He wasn’t just a kidnapper and a pedophile; he was a serial killer. Before taking Kara, he’d killed 3 other girls from the state of Virginia- 16-year-old Sofia Silva in 1996, and sisters 15 year old Kristin Lisk and 12 year old Kati Lisk in 1997.

At 15 years old, Kara Robinson Chamberlain not only heroically escaped her captor, but she also helped police catch a serial killer before he could kill again. Her story is nothing short of incredible.

But it’s not my story to tell. So, I invited Kara on the podcast to tell her story in her own words. In addition to discussing what happened back in 2002, Kara and I discuss her experience with the media, how we really feel about the term closure, and ethics in true crime, specifically as it relates to consent in telling stories of survival like Kara’s.

On December 15, 2022, Diana Cojocari reported her 11-year-old daughter Madalina Cojocari missing in Cornelius, North Carolina. She told investigators that she hadn’t seen her daughter since the night of November 23.

But investigators would find that no one, aside from Diana and her husband, Christopher Palmiter, had seen Madalina since November 21st, two days prior to when Diana said she last saw her daughter and nearly 24 days before she was reported missing.

Investigators have searched Madalina’s home and property multiple times, along with Lake Cornelius, but she has yet to be located.

At around 1:00 am on December 25, 1945, Jennie Sodder woke up to smoke pouring into her bedroom. She woke up her husband, George, and they started evacuating the house of their nine children.

By the time the fire took over the Sodder residence, only Jennie, George, and four of their children made it outside safely.

George and two of his sons frantically tried to get into the house to save the remaining children, but they couldn’t. When George went to fill up a bucket with water to start extinguishing the flames, the water was frozen, when he went to grab their ladder to get his children from the top story, the ladder was missing; when he went to drive his trucks to the second story window, neither would start despite having worked just the day before. And when they tried to call the fire department for help, no one responded for hours.

The only thing the family could do was watch as their burned to the ground.

Hours later, after the smoldering ashes were put out, a group of people began searching for the children’s remains, but nothing was found. Not a single bone was found in the ashes.

The fire was quickly ruled an accident, and investigators told the family the children’s bodies had burned up completely in the fire, leaving nothing of them behind, not even their bones.

But between the mishaps, while trying to put out the fire, threats made against the family before the fire, and the strange behavior of authorities throughout the investigation, Jennie and George Sodder refused to believe five of their children were killed in the home. They were convinced their children didn’t die in the fire, and they spent the rest of their lives trying to prove it.

After working with US troops in Afghanistan for over five years, Lina Sardar Khil’s father, Riaz Sardar Khil, was granted a special visa for him and his family to move to the US in hopes of creating a better and mainly safer life for them. In 2019, when Lina was just a baby, they settled in San Antonio, Texas.

They returned to Afghanistan in 2021 to visit family and barely escaped with their lives. During their visit, they found themselves just feet away from a suicide bombing, Lina immediately fainted, and the family rushed to the airport to get back home to the US. But, just months later, on December 20, 2021, Lina disappeared from their apartment complex playground.

Lina Sardar Khil was last seen at The Villas del Cabo Apartment Complex, now known as the Vive Apartments, on Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio, Texas, on the evening of December 20, 2021. She was wearing a red dress, black jacket, black shoes, gold earrings, gold-toned and blue plastic bracelets, and a Taweez around her neck. When she went missing, she was three years old; she would now be four, almost five. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Before Oakley Carlson turned one, she was taken out of the care of her biological parents Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, and placed with foster parents, Jamie Jo and Erik Hiles. They instantly fell in love with her, and over the next two years or so, they are overjoyed to care for her and watch her grow. They see her first steps, hear her first words, and watch her develop into a happy, confident, well-adjusted toddler.

The plan for Oakley from The Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families, or DCYF, was adoption, presumably with Jamie Jo and Erik. But their dreams of legally becoming a family with Oakley were crushed when they were notified that the plan changed again, and Oakley would be returning to her biological parents at the end of 2019.

After she was returned, there were several calls made to social services about Oakley, including a call from Andrew Carlson’s own mother. But Oakley remained in her biological parent’s care.

Eventually, around the end of 2021, people noticed that Oakley wasn’t with the rest of her family. Due to some quick thinking by Oakley’s sister’s school principal, she ultimately led authorities to uncover that there had been no verified sightings of Oakley for almost a year.

When authorities questioned Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, they shut down and became uncooperative. When they search the family home that had recently been on fire for several hours, they find blood but no Oakley. She remains missing to this day.

Collier immediately thought something was wrong with his mother. He got out of bed and looked in Noreen’s room, but it was pitch black. He was scared, so he went back to his room.

A few minutes later, he heard Jack’s footsteps coming down the hallway. He closed his eyes and fell back asleep until around 8:30 am. The first thing he did was run to his mother’s room. But she wasn’t there.

Collier went downstairs and saw his father talking to his grandmother. He asked where his mother was, and Jack responded, “Well, mommy took a little vacation, Collier.”

Collier didn’t believe his father. He knew his mother would never leave him or his sister, and he dug for answers. Ultimately, at age 11, Collier would be a huge part of getting her justice.

By the time Janteyl Johnson from Newark, Delaware, turned 15 years old in 2009, she knew what she wanted to do with her life. She was a driven young woman with the goals of becoming a hairstylist and salon owner.

Soon after turning 15, Janteyl found out she was pregnant. This only made her even more determined to reach her goals. And she was well on her way to making them before she disappeared on February 3, 2010.

Unfortunately, the mainstream media didn’t really cover her case, and The Johnson family has been desperate for answers and media coverage.

Just after midnight on May 10, 1996, a motorist in Brown County, Texas called 911. They report that they’d been driving along Farm Road 2126 when they saw a burning car. It was parked just off the road, near the entrance to a gun range.

Minutes later, a second motorist called 911 to report they had spotted a body lying near the burning car. 

When the fire department and Sheriff’s deputies show up, the car is engulfed in flames. While inspecting the scene, they find the body of 30-year-old Leon Laureles. He had been shot in the back of the head, execution style.

Leon’s family believes they know what happened to Leon, but their suspicions have never been confirmed.

On March 31, 1980, around 7 pm, Don Martinson arrived home from jury duty and called out to his wife Debbie, but he didn’t hear a reply. Don continued to walk through the house and made his way to their 15-month-old son’s room. He was alone, crying in his crib.

Don picked up his son and walked into the adjoining primary bedroom. There, he discovered Debbie’s body near the foot of their bed. She had been strangled with a macrame cord that was still around her neck. Near Debbie’s body was a message written in pale rose lipstick on a floor-to-ceiling mirror that read, “Now we are even Don”.

It was quickly dubbed the Lipstick Murder. It remains unsolved to this day.

Monday, February 13, 2017, was an unusually warm day for Delphi, Indiana. 14-year-old Libby German and her 13-year-old best friend Abby Williams wanted to take advantage of the nice weather while it lasted. They asked Libby’s older sister, Kelsi German, to drive them to the Delphi Historic Trail so they could go hiking. In the small town of Delphi, there really isn’t much else to do.

"I remember us just being so happy in the car and listening to Twenty-One Pilots, and the windows were open, and it was just so warm," German said. "And she got out of the car and told me she loved me."

Kelsi dropped the girls off at around 1:00 pm. Abby and Libby agreed to meet back at the trailhead at 3:00 so Libby’s Dad, Derrick German, could pick them up. When he showed up at the trailhead, the girls were not there to meet him. He called Libby’s phone, but she didn’t answer, so he started searching the immediate area. There was no sign of Libby or Abby anywhere.

Police were notified that the girls were missing. Officers, family members, and volunteers scoured the trails for Abby and Libby, but they were nowhere to be found. The search was called off at around midnight - it was too dark to safely continue.

In the morning, the search started up again. Within hours, the bodies of Abby and Libby were found at the bottom of a hill, approximately one-half mile upstream from the Monon High Bridge. They’d been murdered. 5 years later, the case remains unsolved.

Today I’m discussing the case of Jamie Fraley from North Carolina. In 2008, Jamie was 22 and thriving. She was in college, preparing for a career that she was incredibly excited for and passionate about, she was in love, looking forward to getting married, and for the first time in her life, she was experiencing independence. While Jamie was dealing with some physical and mental health issues, it seemed like for the first time in a long time she was genuinely happy and excited for her future with a solid plan to get what she wanted.

But on April 8, Jamie really isn’t feeling well. Her stomach hurts and it just isn’t getting better so she is taken to the emergency room. She’s told she probably has the stomach flu. They give her some medication, a prescription for more medication, and send her home. But it just doesn’t get any better, so later that night, Jamie asks her future father-in-law, Rick Simonds Sr., to drive her back to the ER. But now the wait is up to almost 4 hours so Jamie decides that instead of waiting, she will just go home and hope she feels better. But she doesn’t. So, after midnight, Jamie calls someone to take her back to the ER for the third time.

Jamie is on the phone with her friend when she has to end the call saying her ride is there, specifically HE is here. Jamie hangs up with this friend, presumably gets into a vehicle with whomever this man was, and is never seen again.

Jamie Fraley went missing from her apartment just outside of Gastonia, North Carolina on or around April 8, 2008. Jamie was 22 when she went missing, she is 4’8” tall, weighed approximately 90 pounds at that time, and had blond hair with brown eyes. She does have a tattoo on her ankle that says “Ricky”.

10-year-old Jesse Wilson was reported missing from his Buckeye, Arizona home by his mother Crystal Wilson. She called the non-emergency line to report that her son seemed to have left out of his bedroom window in the middle of the night like he had several times before but this time, he hadn’t returned home.

Months of searching the Arizona desert in the middle of summer produced few results. But as the spotlight turned to Crystal Wilson, it appeared that answers about what may have happened to Jesse might be closer to home than investigators originally anticipated.

Jesse Wilson went missing from Buckeye, Arizona on July 17, 2016, between 9:30 pm and 1:30 am the next morning. Jesse was black and he had black hair and brown eyes. At that time, he was about 4 feet tall and weighed 60 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, black socks, and black shoes. The color of his shorts is unknown. His remains were recovered in March 2018 near Broadway Road and State Route 85 in Buckeye, Arizona. On Saturday, September 10, 2022, 4-year-old, Lucian Munguia was with his family at Sarg Hubbard Park in Yakima, Washington, when his younger sister needed a diaper change. Lucian’s father, Juan Munguia, says he just turned his back for a minute to change the baby and when he was done, Lucian was gone.

Lucian Munguia is Hispanic, four years old, 4 feet tall, and weighs 40 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue, long-sleeved t-shirt with a shark, blue shorts, and black shoes.

Emma Fillipoff was 26 years old when she went missing from downtown Victoria B.C. in 2012. For years, it was believed that she was last seen by two police officers who were asked to check on Emma’s wellbeing. They found her at the Empress Hotel barefoot, disoriented, and disheveled. Emma’s family knew she’d been struggling recently. After receiving several concerning phone calls from Emma, her mother Shelley insisted on flying across Canada to her to be by her side. But by the time she got to Victoria, just a few hours after Emma’s encounter with the police, it was too late, Emma was gone.

Emma was last seen at the intersection of Craigflower and Admirals in Victoria. It’s believed she was on her way to Colwood. Emma is white 5ft 5 with brown hair and brown eyes. She has no tattoos, and she was last believed to weigh between 90 and 110 pounds. As of recording this episode, she would now be in her late 30s.

There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to Emma’s recovery.

Today I am discussing the disappearances of Stacy McCall, Suzie Streeter, and Sherrill Levitt, also known as “The Springfield Three.”

On June 6, 1992, Suzie and Stacy graduated from high school. That evening, they attended a few parties, then went back to Suzie’s house to spend the night. The next day, the girls planned to meet up with their friend, Janelle, so that they could go to a water park in Branson.

But when Janelle called Suzie’s house in the morning, no one answered. Hours later, Janelle went to Suzie’s to see if everything was okay. When she pulled up, she saw three cars parked outside: Suzie’s, Stacy’s, and Sherrill’s. Janelle looked around the property and didn’t see any sign of forced entry - the only thing that really seemed out of place was a broken porch light.

Inside, the house looked just as tidy as ever. All three of their purses and sets of keys were found, but no one was in the home.

Soon, more concerned friends and relatives, including Stacy's mom, showed up at the house. Eventually, they realized something was very wrong. They called the police to report all three women missing.

For the last 30 years, the Springfield Police have poured countless hours into investigating the disappearances, but all three remain unsolved.

A reward fund of $43,000 has been established for the location and prosecution of the persons responsible for the abduction of the three women.

Around 2:00 am, in the early hours of December 14, 2020, Kent Landry received a call from a Texas State Trooper. It was a call every parent dreads: his 21-year-old son Jason Landry had gotten into a car crash on his drive home for Christmas break. 

The trooper reported that Jason’s car had been found abandoned on a gravel road in rural Luling, Texas which was only 30 minutes into his three-hour drive home. The car’s lights were still on, the keys were in the ignition and the passenger side door was still locked, but Jason was nowhere to be found. It seemed as if he’d fled the scene of the wreck. But to Kent, that didn’t sound like something his son would do. 

Kent rushed to the scene. When got there, he saw that Jason’s clothes were scattered across the road, not far from where he’d wrecked. It was obvious to him that Jason didn’t just flee the scene. Something had happened and no one had investigated it. 

Jason is white. He is 6’1”, 170 pounds, with brown eyes, shaggy brown hair, and a goatee. He sometimes wears glasses, although he didn’t have them with him when he got out of the car - he’s presumed to have been wearing contacts. Jason was 21 years old when he went missing. Today, he would be 23.

The summer of 2001 was an exciting one for 28 year old Niqui McCown. She spent most of her time putting the final touches on her wedding, which was to be held in August.

On Sunday, July 22, Niqui dropped her fiancé, Bobby Webster, off at a local Richmond, Indiana tuxedo shop for a fitting with his best man. Before they went their separate ways, Niqui and Bobby agreed to meet back at their place at 6:00pm so they could finish addressing wedding invitations.

Next, Niqui went to the laundromat like she did every Sunday. She started her clothes, then went to her parents’ house, which was only a block away. During her short visit, Niqui told her mom Barbara that two men had been harassing her at the laundromat. Barbara thought nothing of her daughter’s story - Niqui was a beautiful woman and men often hit on her. Barbara figured that’s what was happening.

Niqui didn’t stay at her parents’ house long - she had to go back to pick up her clothes, something she was nervous to do because of the harassing men.

Before 3:00pm, Niqui left her parents’ house and went back to the laundromat. Her family has not seen or heard from her since.

Marilyn Renee Nicole "Niqui" McCown was last seen on July 22nd, 2001 in Richmond, Indiana. Niqui is black, 5’2”, with brown eyes and brown hair. At the time of her disappearance, Niqui was 28 years old and 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a bright pink and purple floral swimsuit top, dark-colored shorts, diamond earrings, and a white gold bracelet. Today, she would be 49 years old.

Just before 1am on August 6th, 2022, 16-year-old Kiely Rodni and her vehicle went missing from a party in the woods in Truckee, California.

Now, this wasn’t just an ordinary party in the woods with a bunch of kids. What was originally supposed to be a senior sendoff type party with kids from the local high schools- grew to a huge gathering of hundreds of people from around the state, including many adults.

This has left so many people wondering, how does someone and their vehicle, an SUV, go missing from a party with hundreds of attendees without anyone seeing anything?

This is a very new case. This episode is designed to help spread awareness so more than ever I am going to keep it brief and focus on the facts because for as new as this case is, there is already a lot of rumors and speculation.

Officials are treating Kiely’s disappearance as an abduction and every moment counts. Please share this episode.

Kiely Rodni is 16 years old and went missing from the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California on August 6, 2022. She will turn 17 in September 2022. She is white, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 118 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black tank top style bodysuit, a black studded belt, green Dickies brand pants and black vans shoes. She was also wearing 3 layered gold necklaces. Kiely does have multiple piercings including a nose ring.

In 2019, 37-year-old Andrea Knabel from Louisville, Kentucky, was going through a bit of a rough patch. She’d recently lost her job, crashed her car, and lost her apartment. So, she was staying at her mother’s home in Audubon Park, a very affluent area about 5 miles from downtown Louisville. At this time Andrea’s sister Sarah and her partner Ethan were also staying at the home to finish some repairs.

On the night of August 12, Andrea gets into a fight with her mother, Sarah, and Ethan about her life choices. And things get pretty heated.

After a very long night of going to the hospital, being locked out of her home, and going back and forth between her mother’s home and Erin’s home, Andrea goes missing from what’s considered to be one of the safest areas in the city.

Although local police don’t seem to take the case as seriously as Andrea’s loved ones hoped, her case sparks a lot of media attention.

In the summer of 2003, Jennifer Wix, a 20-year-old mother of one, was living with her aunt when she started dating Joey Benton. At first, Jennifer was excited for her new relationship. But things quickly went downhill - Joey was controlling, mean, and violent. The relationship was unstable, and they would often break up then get back together again. 

By March of 2004, Jennifer and her baby Adrianna were living with Joey and his parents out on their rural northern Tennessee property. Jennifer’s family was worried about the safety of Jennifer and Adrianna, Jennifer assured them everything would be okay. But everything wasn’t okay. Jennifer was having serious issues with Joey and his parents.

On March 24, Jennifer called her mom Kathy to tell her about all the horrible things she’d been going through lately. She said it was clear Joey’s family didn’t want her or Adrianna to stay with them. Their behavior and attitude toward her had escalated and she was scared. 

Kathy asked if she could come pick up Jennifer and Adrianna, but Jennifer said no. She would take care of it. Before they got off the phone, Jennifer said she’d call Kathy the next day. But Kathy never heard from Jennifer, or Adrianna, again. 

This is the case of Jennifer and Adrianna Wix.

21-year-old Jennifer and two-year-old Adrianna were last heard from on March 25, 2004. It’s believed they went missing from Cross Plains, Tennessee. Jennifer is a white woman with brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5’4” - 5’6”, 125-135 pounds. Her brown hair had red highlights, and she wore silver oval shaped glasses. She has a tribal tattoo on her lower back. Her ears are pierced twice, and her tongue is pierced once. 

At the time of her disappearance, Adrianna was 3’5”, 25 pounds. She is a white girl with brown hair and blue/green eyes. She has a birthmark on the front of her upper right thigh. She may go by the nickname Nina.

Michael Vaughan was only 5 years old when he went missing from his neighborhood in Fruitland, Idaho on July 27, 2021. After months of intense searches, scrutiny over whether an Amber Alert should have been issued, and even SB 1378, new legislation sparked by the case, what happened to Michael remains a mystery.

Although The Fruitland Police Department initially believed Michael likely just wandered away from his home, they now believe he was most likely abducted. No suspects have been named and Chief JD Huff with the Fruitland PD has been clear that his parents, Brandi Neal and Tyler Vaughan have been cooperative in the investigation.

But just days before this episode aired, the Fruitland PD announced that they do have several persons of interest in the case and are now on the lookout for a very specific potential witness. They also make it clear that unfortunately, not everyone has been cooperative in the investigation into what happened to Michael Vaughan.

Michael was last seen wearing a light blue Minecraft T-shirt, dark blue boxer briefs and size 11 flip-flops. He is a white male with blonde hair and blue eyes. When he went missing, he was 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighed about 50 pounds. Michael also responds to the nickname "Monkey."

As of recording this episode, the reward to information leading to Michael’s recovery has reached nearly $53,000.

This episode features the case of 19-year-old Leah Croucher from Milton Keynes, England.

On February 15, 2019, Leah got up for work at the same time she always did to make the 30-to-40-minute walk to her job. After her shift ended at 5pm, her parents received a call from her employer informing them that Leah never made it to work that day. Although there are many witnesses who claim to have seen Leah the day she went missing and after, the Thames Valley Police have deemed every single sighting unconfirmed.

The investigation leaves the public and her family with more questions than it does answers. Did Leah leave on her own accord? Was she in a secret, forbidden relationship with someone who needed to her disappear? Or was she just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Leah Croucher went missing from Milton Keynes, England on February 15, 2019. As of recording this episode, Leah would be 22 years old, 23 in just a few weeks. She is 5ft 2 or approximately 160cm tall, with a slim build and sometimes wears glasses. Her hair is brown and was just below her shoulders in 2019. When she went missing, she was wearing a black coat, black skinny jeans, all black Converse high-top sneakers, and a grey hoodie with the "Stewartby Taekwondo" logo on it.

In 2019, Chance Englebert was spending the 4th of July weekend with his in laws in Gering, Nebraska. On Saturday, July 6th, he, and some family members went golfing and there was some type of argument over Chance’s new job, specifically about him making less money than in his previous position. Chance gets upset, calls his wife Baylee to pick him up and he tells her that he wants to cut the weekend short and just go back home to Wyoming. But instead of going directly home, Baylee says she drives them back to her grandparents' home and she and Chance get into a fight in the driveway that results in Chance walking away from the home. This is something Chance did when he would get upset, he would take a walk to cool down and then come back when he was in a better frame of mind. But this time Chance didn’t come back.

Chance Englebert went missing from Gering, Nebraska on July 6th, 2019. Chance has brown hair and hazel eyes, he is 5 feet 11 inches tall, and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing a short sleeve button-up Wrangler shirt, dark blue Wrangler jeans, roper-style boots, and a black and white trucker hat.

Today I am discussing the murders of Dean and Tina Clouse as well as the disappearance of their child, Holly. In 1980, Dean and Tina packed up their car and moved their family from Florida to Texas for Dean to pursue a better career prospect. By all accounts the small family was happy and thriving. During this time Tina would often send letters and pictures of Holly back home to their families in Florida. But in October 1980, the letters stopped.

By January 1981, Dean’s mother received a phone call from a woman who identified herself as Sister Susan. Sister Susan explains that Tina and Dean decided to join their group and give up all their worldly possessions, so she’d like to return their car to her for a monetary donation of $1000. Dean’s mother agrees, gets the vehicle back and spends the next 40 years agonizing over what really happened the young family.

What she didn’t know was that Tina and Dean had been found deceased just weeks within in getting this phone call. And while it was obvious that Tina and Dean had been murdered, they remained unidentified for decades while no one knew that baby Holly was still missing.

In this episode you will hear two parallel timelines. You will hear about the life and disappearances of Tina, Dean, and their baby Holly. But you will also hear the timeline of when Tina and Dean were found deceased and the County’s timeline of trying to identify them. Only intersecting over 40 years later when Tina and Dean are finally identified, and baby Holly was found alive.

Tina and Dean Clouse were found murdered in Houston, Texas in January 1981 off Wallisville Road. Tina was 18 and Dean was 22 years old. Both were white with brown hair with Tina’s hair having more of a red tint to it. The family would have been traveling in a 1978 red burgundy AMC Concord before it was returned to Dean’s mother in 1981.

On June 23rd, 2021, 24-year-old Daniel Robinson went missing after leaving a worksite in the Buckeye, Arizona desert. In 1981 Cindy Anderson was 20 years old and working as a secretary at The Law Offices of James Rabbitt and Richard Neller in Toledo, Ohio. She was a devout employee. Most days she worked alone in the morning. She’d open the office, prepare the lawyer’s desks for the day and field incoming phone calls. August 4th, 1981, was no different.

By noon two lawyers arrived at the office expecting to see Cindy in her office as per usual. But Cindy was gone. The door was locked, there was no note, and Cindy’s car was still sitting in the parking lot. It literally still smelt like nail polish remover in the building. So, they figured she’d just been picked up by a friend and had gone to lunch for the day. But when Cindy wasn’t back in a few hours, they grew very concerned.

See Cindy had been experiencing a lot of harassment before this. Someone was making odd calls to the office, and someone had spray painted the words I love you Cindy with the initials GW on a wall directly in her line of sight from the law office. On top of that, Cindy was having recurring nightmares that she was abducted and killed by a strange man.

It got so bad, Cindy asked for an emergency button to be installed at her desk and her bosses instructed her to lock all of the doors when she was working in the office alone.

So as the hours passed, they grew increasingly worried. And when they found a romance novel open to a page about the main character being abducted at knifepoint, they knew it was time to call the police.

It’s been over 40 years since Cindy went missing and authorities admit they have never been close to solving the case. Between stalkers, serial killers, and suspicion on one of Cindy’s bosses, no charges have ever been filed. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t still hope that we can find answers about what happened to her.

Cindy Andersen went missing from Toledo, Ohio in 1981. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5’4 and weighed 115 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She also has a chicken pox scar on her forehead and a scar on her right knee that looks like a fishhook. Ryan Larsen was 11 years old when he walked out of his elementary school in La Vista, Nebraska on May 17, 2021. This is something he’d done before. He was known to leave school and hide when he became frustrated. The La Vista Police Department said they’d recovered Ryan at least half a dozen times before this. So, when he walked out on May 17, they figured it would be the same routine. They’d go check Ryan’s hiding spots and find him in 1-2 hours tops.

But this time was different. It has now been over a year since Ryan went missing and the La Vista Police department says they basically have no idea what happened to him.

It seems like they only have a handful of major leads right now, Ryan’s umbrella that was found next to a dumpster nearly a month after he went missing, some very blurry surveillance video and Ryan’s report of there being a strange man at his school just 2 weeks before he disappeared. 

Ryan is almost 13 now. He is a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes. When he went missing, he was 11 years old and approximately 5ft 8inches tall. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and an old navy shirt. He was having issues with acne on his forehead that was quite noticeable. So, it’s possible he still has acne or acne scars.

Authorities have asked that if you see Ryan, you do not call his name. But instead keep your distance and call 911. If you have any information about Ryan’s disappearance you can call Sarpy County Crime Stoppers at 402-592-7867.

Like so many people in the US, 32-year-old Nicole Fitts was struggling with housing insecurity. She worked at Best Buy in San Francisco, California and would often travel up to 4 hours a day to commute to work from wherever she was staying at the time. Sometimes the commute was so bad, Nicole would just crash on a couch until her next shift. This meant she would have to leave her two-year-old daughter Arianna with a babysitter for extended periods of time.

This was the reality of trying to make ends meet for Nicole. Eventually, one of her coworkers noticed what Nicole was going through just to get to work each day and offered for her and Arianna to move in with her. Nicole was ecstatic. She scraped together enough money to get Arianna a new bed and told the babysitter she was coming to pick up her daughter.

But she was met with resistance from the babysitter, saying they were out of town taking Arianna to Disneyland, she’d have to grab her daughter another day. Nicole was upset, obviously because she was ready to pick up her daughter but also because they didn’t tell her they’d be taking Arianna out of town. According to Nicole’s new roommate Goyette Williams, the plan was for Nicole to pick up her daughter on April 3rd, 2016. But on the night of April 1st, Nicole withdrew a large amount of money from her bank account, says she was going to meet the babysitter and would be back in 5 minutes.

A week later, Nicole’s body was found in a local park. Nicole’s killer has never been caught and Arianna remains missing to this day.

32-year-old Nicole Fitts was found murdered in McLaren Park in San Francisco, California on April 8th 2016. She was a black female with black hair and brown eyes.

Nicole’s daughter, Arianna Fitts was last seen in Oakland California in February 2016. When she went missing, she was 2 years old, weighed approximately 45 pounds and was 2 feet tall. She is a black female with black hair and brown eyes. As of recording this episode, Arianna Fitts would now be 8 years old.

The San Francisco Police Department is offering a $250,000 reward for information about Nicole and Arianna. And Best Buy is offering an additional $10,000 reward.

The last confirmed sighting of missing child Harmony Montgomery was in October 2019 when the Manchester Police Department in New Hampshire responded to a call at her home. She was only 5 years old at the time. After bouncing between living with a foster family and her mother, Crystal Sorey, for most of her life, a judge awarded her father, Adam Montgomery, full custody of her despite never fully verifying his employment or the safety of his home among other things. Just months after he was awarded custody, Harmony went missing. Unfortunately, an investigation into her disappearance wouldn’t begin until nearly two years later.

In part one of my coverage about Harmony's disappearance, I will discuss the extensive timeline of Harmony's life in the care of DCF in Massachusetts as outlined by a brand new 101 page report released by the Office of the Child Advocate, or OCA, and discuss what led to Adam Montgomery gaining custody of her.

In part two of my coverage I discuss what we know about the time leading up to Harmony’s disappearance, Crystal Sorey’s efforts to search for her and how it took 2 years for Harmony’s disappearance to be investigated. I’m also going to discuss the 101-page report published by the Office of the Child Advocate in Massachusetts exploring how this happened and their recommendations to prevent this from ever happening again.

The last confirmed sighting of missing child Harmony Montgomery was in October 2019 when the Manchester Police Department in New Hampshire responded to a call at her home. She was only 5 years old at the time. After bouncing between living with a foster family and her mother, Crystal Sorey, for most of her life, a judge awarded her father, Adam Montgomery, full custody of her despite never fully verifying his employment or the safety of his home among other things. Just months after he was awarded custody, Harmony went missing. Unfortunately, an investigation into her disappearance wouldn’t begin until nearly two years later.

In part one of my coverage about Harmony's disappearance, I will discuss the extensive timeline of Harmony's life in the care of DCF in Massachusetts as outlined by a brand new 101 page report released by the Office of the Child Advocate, or OCA, and discuss what led to Adam Montgomery gaining custody of her.

On the morning May 3rd, 2002, 7-year-old Alexis Patterson was very excited about going to school. Alexis was already a good student, she got straight A’s and prided herself on her perfect attendance record. But this day was going to be very special. The night before, she and her mother Ayanna Patterson, purchased cupcakes for her to bring to her first-grade class. But when her mother realized Alexis had not finished her homework, she told her she was no longer allowed to bring the treats to her class. Frustrated, Alexis packed up and got ready to make the short walk to Hi-Mount Community School. The school was just 242 steps from her front door, but her mother or stepfather usually walked with her anyway. That morning, her stepfather LaRon Bourgeois walked with her. When they got to the end of their street, they met a crossing guard who walked Alexis to the other side of the street to the school.

What happened next and even parts of what I’ve already told you is highly debated among LaRon Bourgeois, witnesses at the school and law enforcement. What we know for sure is that Alexis went missing that day.

To complicate matters further, in 2016 14 years after Alexis went missing, a man came forward claiming his ex-wife was the missing girl. Since then, Ayanna Patterson has believed her daughter is not missing but alive and well, unable to believe the truth of her identity. But some detectives are certain that the answers about what happened to Alexis will be found closer to home.

Alexis Patterson was 7 years old when she went missing from Milwaukee Wisconsin on May 3rd, 2002. At the time she was 3ft 8 inches tall and weighed approximately 42 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red hooded jacket with a gray stripe on the sleeves, a purple shirt, light colored blue jeans, and white Nike tennis shoes. She wore her hair in two braids pulled back into one ponytail and was carrying a pink "Barbie" book bag. She has black hair and brown eyes. She also has a scar under her right eye and a bump on her left pinky finger. There is a $10k reward being offered for information that leads investigators to Alexis. 33-year-old Nefertiri Trader was taken from the front yard of her home in New Castle, Delaware on June 30th, 2014. She was forced into her 2000 silver Acura RL with Delaware license plate 404893. Her vehicle has not yet been recovered. Nefertiri is a black female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5’6 and weighed approximately 125lbs when she was abducted.

Her mother found a loaf of bread that appeared to have been stepped on, 2 cups of coffee, a pack of cigarettes and an unopened condom in the front of her home.

Her abductor has only been described as a male wearing tan shorts and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Today I am discussing the disappearances of Christopher Dansby and Shane Walker from New York City in 1989. These incidents are so similar that putting them together just makes sense. Both were black, male, toddlers, taken from The Martin Luther King Jr. Park 3 months apart, around the same time of day, on the same day of the week. Not only that, but their families also lived in the same building of the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers just 2 floors apart from each other. And perhaps most chilling of all, both toddlers were last seen playing with the same set of children before they went missing.

Christopher Dansby went missing from The Martin Luther King Jr playground in New York City on May 18th, 1989, when he was just 2 years old. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, floral print shirt, blue jeans, and green and white sneakers. Christopher is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He has a figure 8 scar on his thigh. He would be in his early 30’s now.

Shane Walker went missing from the same park on August 10th, 1989, when he was just 19 months old. He was last seen wearing a blue and white shirt, light blue pants, and white LA gear sneakers. Shane is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his chin and a birthmark shaped like a liver on his shoulder. He would also be in his early 30’s now.

In 2002, when Kara Robinson Chamberlain was just 15 years old, she was in the front yard of her friend’s home in Columbia, South Carolina when a man approached her. At first, he seemed friendly but then he pulled out a gun, pressed it against her neck, and forced Kara into a storage bin in the back of his vehicle.

Kara was held and assaulted for 18 hours before she escaped. Through the information she was able to provide to law enforcement, they discovered that the man who took her was Richard Evonitz. He wasn’t just a kidnapper and a pedophile; he was a serial killer. Before taking Kara, he’d killed 3 other girls from the state of Virginia- 16-year-old Sofia Silva in 1996, and sisters 15 year old Kristin Lisk and 12 year old Kati Lisk in 1997.

At 15 years old, Kara Robinson Chamberlain not only heroically escaped her captor, but she also helped police catch a serial killer before he could kill again. Her story is nothing short of incredible.

But it’s not my story to tell. So, I invited Kara on the podcast to tell her story in her own words. In addition to discussing what happened back in 2002, Kara and I discuss her experience with the media, how we really feel about the term closure, and ethics in true crime, specifically as it relates to consent in telling stories of survival like Kara’s.

On the morning on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 18-year-old Naomi Irion drove her car to the Walmart parking lot in Fernley, Nevada. While Naomi was sitting in her car waiting for a shuttle to arrive that would take her to work, a man approached her car, said or did something that made her slide over to the passenger seat, then this man entered the driver’s seat and abducted Naomi. 41-year-old Troy Driver has since been arrested on kidnapping charges. However, Naomi remains missing.

Naomi Irion is 5’11” and weighs 240lbs. Her hair is dyed black, and she has green eyes with one eye having a bit of brown in it. She has a smiley face tattoo on her right ankle, her septum is pierced as are both of her nostrils. She was last seen wearing a blue Panasonic t-shirt, a grey cardigan, grey pants, and dark colored off brand Ugg style boots. She was also carrying a black purse and an iPhone XR. None of Naomi’s clothing or belongings have been located as of recording this episode.

Her abductor was driving her 1992 sun faded blue Mercury Sable. Though a new dark colored Chevy 2500 High Country Silverado truck has been impounded in relation to the abduction as well. Authorities are looking for witnesses who may have seen either vehicle on or around March 12, 2022.

On the night of February 19th, 2005, Richard Petrone and Danielle Imbo met up on South Street in Philadelphia. According to Richard’s friend Anthony, who spent time with the pair that night, they all had a great time. Despite the couple recently breaking up and spending a few weeks apart, Richard and Danielle were getting along fine, Richard had his arm around Danielle, and they were spotted kissing. Just before midnight the pair decided to call it a night and head back to Richard’s truck so he could drive Danielle home. But they never made it. It has now been 17 years since they went missing and not a single trace of Danielle Imbo, Richard Petrone, or Richard’s truck has ever been found.

Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone went missing from 429 South Street in Philadelphia on February 19th, 2005, after leaving Abilene’s Bar and Restaurant. As of recording this episode, a new restaurant, Rock N Flavors now occupies the space.

Danielle is a white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 5ft 5inches tall and at the time of her disappearance she was 34 years old and weighed approximately 117 pounds. She was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, a cream-colored sweater, and blue jeans. She was carrying a black purse. Danielle usually wears 3 small silver rings on either her left or right middle finger.

Richard is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5ft 9inches. At the time of his disappearance, he was 35 and weighed approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray Polo brand sweatshirt and blue jeans. He has a tattoo of the name Angela on his left arm and a tattoo of clowns on his right arm.

Police are still looking for Richard Petrone’s 2001 black over silver Dodge Dakota pickup with Pennsylvania license plate YFH 2319. The truck may have a NASCAR sticker in the back window.

FBI is currently offering a $15k reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the disappearance of Danielle and Richard. The Philadelphia Citizens Crime Commission is also offering a $50k reward.

Jaliek Rainwalker was only 12 years old when he went missing from Greenwich, New York in 2007. His adoptive parents told police that they believed Jaliek ran away to join a gang. But not long into the investigation, Jaliek’s adoptive father, Stephen Kerr, would be named a person of interest and almost every item he said Jaliek took with him when he left was later found in the family’s homes.

Jaliek Rainwalker went missing on November 1st or 2nd, 2007. At that time Jaliek was 5ft 6 inches tall and weighed approximately 105 pounds. Jaliek is Biracial, he is an African American and Caucasian male with Brown hair and green eyes. At the time of his disappearance, Jaliek's hair had blond highlights and was styled in a two-inch afro. He has several moles on his back. He may also go by the nickname Jay.

Mark Himebaugh was only 11 years old when he went missing from Middle Township, New Jersey in 1991. It’s as if Mark vanished into thin air. Although there are many witness statements about Mark’s whereabouts that day, the only physical clue found was Mark’s left shoe abandoned on the beach. On February 14th, 1982, the body of a young woman was found on the side of the highway in northern Arizona. Due to the state her body was found in they were not able to immediately identify her. So, for almost 40 years, 17 year old Carolyn Eaton was known as Valentine Sally. Finally in 2021, thanks to a lot of dedicated individuals and advancements in DNA technology, Valentine Sally got her name. But the case remains unsolved.

Today I am discussing the case of 25-year-old Jelani Day from Bloomington, Illinois. Jelani was last seen leaving the Beyond/Hello Dispensary around 9:20am on August 24th, 2021. His body was later recovered an hour away in Peru, Illinois on September 4th. Jelani’s official cause of death is listed as drowning. Authorities are hesitant to say that foul play was involved in Jelani’s death, but his family and many others are certain it was. Especially since Jelani was a black man found deceased in a city with a long history of racism.

This is the case of Jelani Day.

Today I am discussing the case of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman. In 1996 Amber was riding her bike in a parking lot in Arlington, Texas, just a few blocks from her grandparents' home when a man grabbed her from the bike, threw her in his truck and drove away in broad daylight. 4 days later Amber’s body was recovered from a nearby creek. After 26 years of frustration, Amber’s family and law enforcement are imploring the public to continue to share Amber’s case and Amber’s mother is begging for people to see her daughter as more than just the girl who inspired the Amber Alert.

19-year-old Margarita Sandoval went missing in 2018 and in May of 2021 her body was found in a box belonging to her brother, Octavio Sanchez, in a basement in Norman, Oklahoma. As of recording this episode, no charges have been filed for Margarita’s death.

Today I am discussing the case of 17-year-old Blake Chappell. Blake went missing in October 2011 after attending his homecoming dance. His body was found in a nearby creek two months later. The autopsy confirmed Blake died from a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide. Officials believe he was only in the water for about a week, leaving his whereabouts unknown for weeks. It’s been over a decade since Blake was murdered but his mother Melissa is still fighting for answers.

Blake Chappell went missing from Newnan, Georgia on October 16th, 2011. Blake was a white male, 5’9, 125 lbs with reddish curly hair, two bottom lip piercings and had a playboy tattoo on the left side of his chest. Today I am discussing the case of 26 year old Desiree Gibbon. Desiree was murdered in 2017 over Thanksgiving weekend and found about 20 minutes away from her grandmother’s hotel in Jamaica. Desiree spent almost every summer growing up at this very hotel so when she was found murdered not only were her parents devastated but they were also completely shocked. After taking a closer look at the circumstances, her mother is sure that the perpetrator is someone that knew her and lured her away.

Today I am discussing the case of 21 year old Adam Castillo from Wilcox, Arizona. On the night of Saturday, September 13th, 2008 Adam went to a party in the desert with about 30 other people and was never seen again. Rumors began to swirl in the small town and the sheriff’s office actually shut down the local high school for an entire day just to conduct interviews and see if they could figure out what happened in the desert that night. But, 13 years later the case has gone cold and we still don’t know how Adam Castillo disappeared.

Today I am discussing the case of Howard Brown. Howard was hit and killed by a motorist in Paradise Valley, Arizona in November 2015. This motorist was 20-year-old Paige Denbow, daughter of then Vice Mayor of Paradise Valley, Paul Dembow. Paige’s father arrived at the crash scene quickly after she hit Howard Brown and took his daughter home approximately 30 minutes after the crash.

Paige was able to leave the scene without being tested for intoxication. When a Paradise Valley Police officer and a Detective from a neighboring police department arrived at the Dembow residence approximately 2 hours after the crash to speak with Paige, she was gone, and Paul Dembow had retained legal counsel for his daughter.

6 years later, in large part because of how little evidence was collected at the scene of the crash, Howard Brown’s family is still fighting for records, answers, and justice.

Today I am discussing the case of Katie Palmer. This case is unlike any other I’ve discussed on this show so far. On April 21st, 2020, Katie and her husband John were struck by a motorist named Cory Foster. They both sustained some horrible injuries and unfortunately Katie ended up passing away early the next morning.

At the scene an officer with known ties to Cory Foster stated several times that he could smell alcohol on him. Cory denied drinking that morning and passed a field sobriety test. However, he did have alcohol in his system and did admit that he was not able to see out of his windshield when he struck John and Katie adding that he should not have been driving. It’s been almost two years and Cory Foster has faced no legal consequences for his actions.

Today I am discussing the case of 38-year-old Janina Jefferson. Janina was shot and killed at her place of work on November 27th, 2016, in Appalachia, Virginia. Authorities believe they know exactly who killed Janina, her ex-husband, Eric Jones, but he’s been on the run for over 5 years as of recording this episode and is still wanted by the US Marshals Service.

Eric Monroe Jones would now be in his 50’s. He is an African American male with a muscular build that weighs approximately 175 lbs and is 5ft 7 tall. His hair is black and typically clean shaven, and he has brown eyes. He is known to drink beer and use drugs. He loves the Walking dead, is very charismatic and is known to discuss growing up in a very religious family. The police believe that he is most likely dating someone else now, So if you have a new boyfriend that matches this description, please at least google the name Eric Jones. He could also be using the name Eric Humphrey or Easy E.

Federal investigators are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Eric Jones. So if you do have any information about this guy, there is plenty of incentive to come forward. However, if you see Eric Jones, do not approach him as he is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102.

Today I am discussing the case of 17-year-old Maggie Long from Bailey, Colorado. On December 1st, 2017, Maggie left her high school to change her clothes and grab some items for a concert she was helping with that night. But Maggie never returned. When Maggie’s family went to look for her at their home it was on fire with Maggie’s car still in the driveway.

After officials announced that no body was found in the home after extinguishing the fire, but there was also no official search for Maggie, the public was understandably confused and concerned. It would take months for officials to clear up these statements, over year to announce that Maggie was burned alive in her home that night and several years to announce that they believe Maggie was the victim of a hate crime.

Maggie Long was an Asian American female with brown eyes and black hair. The police are seeking information about three men believed to be connected to this crime. It’s believed they were driving a late 90s to 2000 light colored Chevy Astro van and a Ford pickup. Today I am discussing the case of missing 23-year-old Leah Peebles. In 2006 Leah moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico looking for a fresh start. But just a few weeks after she made the move, she disappeared. When her father, John Peebles, made the trip to New Mexico to search for her himself, he discovered a world of crime he’d never experienced before. Despite recognizing the danger he was putting himself in and receiving a death threat himself, he dug deeper into the world he was convinced his daughter was trapped in in hopes of bringing her home.

Leah Peebles went missing from Albuquerque New Mexico on May 22nd, 2006 at the age of 23. She would be 38 years old as of recording this episode and might be going by the name Maya. She is a white female, 5’4’, 105lbs, with blue eyes and brown hair that she cuts and colors a lot. She has a few tattoos including a scroll flower design on her upper back and a Celtic cross on her lower back.

Today I am discussing the case of Najib Monsif Jr. who is affectionately known as Jubi. Jubi is a 20-year-old male who went missing from Scottsdale, Arizona on September 23rd 2021. So as of recording this episode, less than a month ago. It’s important to note that Jubi has autism and functions at about the level of an 8-year-old according to his family. His family fears that Jubi may have been led away from his home or possibly been picked up by a stranger as a crime of opportunity.

Today I am discussing the case of Sage Smith. Sage was only 19 when she went missing from Charlottesville, Virginia in 2012. She had plans to meet up with a man that night but when police tried to question this man, he fled the area. Sage and this man remain missing to this day.
