Todays show is John 'The Ox' Entwistle themed. The Ox was of course the bass player with the Who through their thunderous years, one of the greatest bass players of all time. For today’s episode I interviewed his best friend and musical partner for many years after John left the Who, Steve Luongo. In fact they were so close that when Entwistle died in 2002, Johns family asked Steve to read the eulogy at his funeral. Steve has helped to produce and curate a new album of Johns material which is called John Entwistle, Rarities Oxhumed, Volume 1.
As well as his time with The Ox, Steve Luongo has an impressive CV having worked with legends like Leslie West, Ann Wilson of Heart, Eddie Money, Cream's Jack Bruce, Todd Rundgren and more and we hear some great stories of his time with Cheap Tricks Robin Zander, Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams from ACDC and a brilliant story of his brief, very brief, time with Ritchie Blackmore. It's definitely a fabulous interview!
