Weird Crap in Australia

Episode 087 - The Legend of Fisher's Ghost Part 2 (1826)

71 min • 2 februari 2020
Frederick Fisher's Ghost is one of Australia's earliest and most famous ghost stories, dating back to 1826. The tale revolves around the mysterious death of Frederick Fisher, a farmer from New South Wales, whose body was found buried in the swampy lands where Campbelltown Train Station now stands.

It isbelieved that Fisher was murdered by his friend and fellow settler, George Worrall, who was later found disposing of the dead man's belongings. The ghostly element of the story emerged when Fisher’s restless spirit allegedly appeared to a passer by on what is now Fisher's Gost Bridge, to reveal the location of his body. The story of Fisher's ghost remains an enduring reminder of early colonial Australia's eerie mysteries and its deep ties to the unknown.
