39 Richard Ruane

Richard Ruane (he/him) is the creator of the award-winning game Moonlight on Roseville Beach. He was nominated for the IGDN Groundbreaker Award for Best Setting for Barrow Keep: Den of Spies in 2021 and Dark Designs in Verdigris in 2020. He's previously contributed to Codex, Eat Trash Be Free, and Sunken.

I am so glad to have Richard over. We met a few years ago when I traveled to the US and we tried to organize an TTRPG meet up in NYC, and basically only a few people showed up. Since then we'v been in touch and we've been talking and watching each other grow from apart. My wife has actually also worked with him, as she translated Barrow Keep to Portuguese.

On this chat we talk a little bit about his journey in the TTRPG space, his fascination for the horror genre, the works and artists that inspired him and that continues to do so, and so much more.

I learned quite a few things on this episode and I really want to try Writing Sprints soon!
