Wildlife and Adventure Photography
Photography is an ideal medium to share our passions and ideas. But, in many cases, people hold back for fear of negative comments about their work.
In this podcast I dive (a little) into our psychology and why it's so important to share your passions:
Out fear of 'shame', or 'rejection' is driven by a fear of not belonging. This is why many people don't share their work.
On the other hand, sharing photographs that you love is a way of connecting with others, of sharing what inspires you and forming a deeper connection with others.
So what happens if people criticise or don't like your work? The thing to remember is that once you've put your work out there, anything can happen!
Negative comments are often more about the people that made them than the work itself. You might also get positive feedback (and have to deal with it!) and comments that give you ideas.
Putting your work out there makes you vulnerable. But allowing yourself to be vulnerable is an important way of growing (both in your photography and personally) and I whole heartedly recommend it.
