Shaykh Yasir Qadhi discusses the need of the hour and the revival of the legacy of our beloved Prophet ﷺ - building women friendly mosques and hence, empower women to also have equal rights to enter the Masaajids.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from the Mosques of Allah."
As opposed to the ancient times, when women were never allowed to enter a Masjid and pray in tranquility, times have changed for the better. People are striving to get women to frequent the Mosques and it is a prominent and welcoming change.
Hence, the onus is now on the Islamic heads and authorities to ensure that the mosques are women-friendly and that women are as involved as men in the decision-making process of the mosques. This is best achieved by appointing women in the governing bodies of the mosques.
