Shaykh Yasir Qadhi divulges explicit details of Chapters 20 to 23 which highlights the stance of the Shariah on the acts of showing veneration towards graves of Prophet, saints and other holy people.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.”
Jundub reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say five days before he passed away, “I stand acquitted before Allah that I took any one of you as an intimate friend, for Allah has taken me as His intimate friend, just as he took Abraham as His friend. Had I taken any one of my nation as an intimate friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as my friend. Verily, those before you turned the graves of their prophets and righteous into places of worship, so do not take graves as places of worship. I forbid you from doing that.”
Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited plastering the graves, sitting upon them, and building structures over them.
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The entire earth has been made a place of prayer, except for graveyards and washrooms.”
