This enlightening video takes us into the lives of two great Sahabas - Sa’d Ibn Mu’ad and Sa’s Ibn Ubadah RA. Shaykh Yasir attempts to give us explicit details on the greatness of these two Sahabas and we should rightly listen intently. Sa'd Ibn Muadh was a name to beckon with amongst the Ansar and he belonged to the tribe of Aws.Ibn Muadh accepted Islam at the hands of Musab ibn Umair which led to the entire clan of Aws or the Banu Abdul-Ashhal following suit. When the tribe of Aws saw Sa’d Ibn Muadh returning after the conversion, they witnessed something different in his demeanour and hence said: "We swear by Allah, Sa'd has returned with a different impression." They replied "You are our Chief, the most vested in our interests, the best in your judgement, and the most fortunate in leadership." He then said: "I will not speak to a man or a woman among you until you believe in Allah and his Messenger." During the battle of Badr, Sa’d RA was consulted with regards to the matter of the second treaty of Aqabah to seek a solution on Abu Sufyan. Some people( Bani bin Quraiza) agreed to the verdict of Sa’d bin Muadh over that of the Prophet ﷺ and so it was decided to approach Sa'd bin Mu'adh for the same. He approached the Mosque and the Prophet ﷺ said,  "O Sa'd! These people have agreed to accept your verdict." Sa'd said, "I judge that their warriors be killed and their children and women be taken captives." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You have given a judgment similar to Allah's Judgment ." In a separate Hadith, the Prophet ﷺ has mentioned that , "The Throne (of Allah) shook at the death of Saad bin Muadh." In another Hadith, the messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: “Were anybody to be saved from the squeezing of the grave, it would have been Sa’d.” Sa'd Ibn ubadah was synonymous with the Khazraj tribe and was amongst the most prominent of Muhammad ﷺ companions. After the death of the Prophet ﷺ, chieftains of the Ansar gathered in a place called Saqifa to appoint Sa'd Ibn Ubadah as their next Khalifa but this was met with opposition and the other people pledged their allegiance to Abu Bakr RA and Umar RA and hence, a tiff of sorts arose between the people in question over personal issues. This brought about the result of Sa'd Ibn Ubadah never being part of any of these caliph’s group nor participating in any battles or political matters. After some years during Umar's RA caliphate, he was sternly asked to bear allegiance or leave the city of Madina and this is exactly what made him leave the city as well. Around 7 Hadiths have been narrated by Sa’d Ibn Ubadah in his lifetime. There is a Hadith that is which Sa’d ibn Ubadah reported: He said, “O Messenger of Allah, the mother of Sa’d has died, so what is the best charity I may give on her behalf?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Water.” Sa’d dug a well and he said, “This is for the mother of Sa’d.” His death was a subject of utter bizarreness wherein it was reported that he had been assassinated by the jinns when he was bathing by the striking of two spears that struck his heart.. The reason for this was even more ambiguous which was that he was urinating whilst standing. It is also said that his skin turned a hue of green. These stories are very weak and there are many broken chains of Hadith to substantiate it. So Allah knows best. This great Sahaba left for his heavenly abode in the 14th year of Hijrah.
