Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi​ discusses the verses of Surah Al-Anbiya, 34 - 35 and 83 - 84,which will make us come face to face with the truth behind our calamities and blessings. "And We did not grant to any man before you eternity; so if you die - would they be eternal? Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned." [Surat Al-Anbiya, verses 34 & 35] "And Ayyub, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful." So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him (back) his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers (of Allah)." [Surat Al-Anbiya, verses 83 & 84] In the Qur'an, Allah mentions about life, wealth, health and children as a gift for the righteous and also as a punishment for the evil. How do we judge whether what has been meted out to us is a blessing or a punishment?Shaykh Yasir provides valid answers and our doubts are laid to rest.
