In this video by Shaykh yasir Qadhi, we get acquainted with the Hijrah - Emigration to Madinah and its various facets. The incident of Hijrah is difficult to chronologically assimilate and hence, we rely on authentic sources to make a chain of events as they unfolded.
The Prophet ﷺ was among the final people to emigrate to Madinah. The actual Hijrah took place on Monday, 26th Safar of the 13th year of the Dawah which tallies with the 1st year of the Hijrah. What happened on the day? What made the Prophet ﷺ think of taking this step? Who accompanied him on this Hijrah? It was the good fortune of Abu Bakr As Siddiq RA to have the coveted honour and privilege. When our beloved Prophet ﷺ received permission to take Abu Bakr RA , it was only then that he was given the nod to accompany him.
Abu Bakr RA had a plan on how to undergo this important journey. Abu Bakr RA planned to stay in the cave for three nights and appointed three people to manage three tasks. The first was his son Abdullah whose job was to supply them food and drink inside the cave and gave information about the people of Mecca and the whereabouts of the expeditions to track them down. The second person was Amr ibn Hufayra who was a freed slave and he had to make sure the footsteps of Abdullah ibn Abu Bakr are wiped away. The third man was Abdullah ibn Arkat and he was given the job to lead them to Madinah through a secret passage.
What were the happenings in the cave of Thawr? Listen intently and get mesmerised by the ways in which Allah SWT showers his rahmah on his beloved people.
