In this motivating and enlightening talk, Shaykh Yasir Qadhi takes us on an important journey of getting familiarized with the branches of Iman using assistance from the greatest book ever written on this topic - Shu’ab Al Iman by Imam Abū Bakr Aḥmad ibn Ḥusayn Ibn 'Alī ibn Mūsa al-Khosrojerdi al-Bayhaqi.
He commences the talk with the most beautiful Hadith,
“Faith has over seventy branches,or over sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is none worthy of worship (in truth) but Allah, and the humblest of which is the removal of what is injurious from the path: and modesty is the branch of faith.”
[Bukhari and Muslim]
Then, he delves deeper into the aspects of Iman, its description, the fruits of Iman, criteria of being a good Mu’min, levels of Iman and more.
In doing so, the Shaykh implores us to read and research the Qur'an and Sunnah so that our horizons are broadened and we learn and gain more from it as opposed to plain memorization.
