तपःस्वाध्यायेश्वरप्रणिधानानि क्रियायोगः

तपः स्वाध्यायेश्वर-प्रणिधानानि क्रिया-योगः
tapaḥ-svādhyāyeśvara-praṇidhānāni kriyā-yogaḥ
Burning zeal in practice, self-study and surrender to God are called Kriya Yog. Tapah = heat, burning, shining, ascetic devotion, a burning desire to reach perfection, that which burns all impurities, self-discipline
Svadhyaya = Self-study, reflection of one’s own self, understanding one-self from the outer sheath, the body, inwards towards the inner self
Isvara = God, Lord of all
Pranidhanani = laying on, imposing, turning on, directing upon; profound religious meditation; surrender
Kriyayogah = yoga of action
Burning zeal in practice, self-study and study of scriptures, and surrender to God are the acts of yoga.
