Sutra 1.35   Welcome to the Super Quotient Club Aligning body, mind and soul with Yogasutra of Patanjali   35th Sutra Chapter I   विषयवती वा प्रवृत्तिरुत्पन्ना मनसः स्थितिनिबन्धिनी   (Pronunciation) विषयवती वा प्रवृत्ति-रुत्पन्ना मनसः स्थिति-निबन्धिनी     viṣayavatī vā pravr̥tti-rutpannā manasaḥ sthiti nibandhinī  viṣayavatī= extraordinary sense perceptions vā= also pravr̥tti  = modifications, manifestation utpannā = generate manasaḥ = mental sthiti = stability nibandhinī  = fastness, firmly established Also, those forms of concentration, that give rise to extra ordinary sense perceptions called ‘Visayavati’ (विषयवती), bring about steadiness of the mind.     In this and the five sutras from 34th to 39th sutra chapter 1, several alternative methods of calming the mind and preparing it for spiritual evolution are described.
