In this introspective episode of Dance Specific Talks, Coach Sebastian and T-zer tackle big questions about identity, accountability, and growth in the dance community. They explore the concept of creating alter egos—those fearless, unapologetic versions of ourselves that help push boundaries and overcome insecurities. T-zer shares how she’s developing her own alter ego to shift her mindset from “dancer who can't earn well” to “wealthy dancer,” and Coach shares tools like power phrases to tap into inner strength.
The conversation takes a serious turn as they address the lack of accountability in the Latin dance community, particularly in the face of issues like sexual harassment and abuse. They reflect on the role men and women must play in fostering a safer, more respectful environment for all dancers. Additionally, the duo discusses the importance of redirecting negative thoughts, the power of self-identification, and how nervousness can be a driver of growth in dance and life.
This episode blends lighthearted anecdotes—like Therese’s silk-draped photoshoot and their shared love of dancehall—with powerful conversations about how the dance community can grow, evolve, and hold itself accountable.

In this powerful episode of Dance Specific Talks, Coach Sebastian and T-zer are joined by the talented dancer and rising star, Nika Mal, to discuss the multifaceted world of dance. Together, they dive into deeply personal and professional topics, reflecting on what it takes to grow as a dancer while balancing health, authenticity, and creativity. Nika shares her journey as a Russian-Ukrainian dancer navigating an international lifestyle, her passion for incorporating diverse styles like Tango, Bachata, and Urban Kiz into her repertoire, and her thoughts on managing a social media presence while performing with her semi-professional team.
Nika opens up about her recent PCOS diagnosis and how it has impacted her health and career, sparking a larger conversation about women’s health and the stigma surrounding hormonal imbalances. The trio also explores the importance of representation in the dance community, the role of social media for dancers, and how authenticity can shine through even in the fast-paced world of content creation. They wrap things up with a fun and reflective game, imagining what they would do differently in their dance journeys if finances were not a limitation.
With heartfelt insights and practical advice, this episode is a must-listen for dancers and creatives who want to balance ambition with self-care and bring their unique voices to the dance world.

Our ancestors were visionary, forward-thinking, and innovative. They left us gifts that outlived them and it's evident today through the Ta'ovalas we tie, the tapa & mats we sit on, the kahoa's we wear around our necks, the kava we drink, the words and songs we sing, the patterns of our tatau we proudly display today. It's all around us - our culture survives through art!" (Article by @thecoconettv)

This week Dance Specific Talks want to highlight the upcoming dance workshop series in Amsterdam: #FeelingsFirst
This information is coming from the Instagram live session Sabou & T-zer had about why they are offering a brand new experience of dance and personal development!
About #FeelingsFirst:
When taking dance workshops, something we’ve experienced first hand was this: Going there excited, thinking we’ll be sharing, connecting with people, screaming, enjoying ourselves whilst actually DANCING… When in fact, it was mostly all about technique, performance, competition, cameras, ego, showing off… and so on.
Which is completely fine, but not for us.
We Dance because we crave connections to self and to others;
Because Dance reveals our unique talents as human beings;
Because Dance enables us to express our emotions and exceptional stories;
Because Dance helps us understand our bodies and get into motion no matter what life brings us;
Because Dance is Life itself.
#FeelingsFirst Dance Workshops Series is born out of one thought: make you EXPERIENCE dance and go through a journey of understanding, connecting, expressing, and sharing.
With yourself, AND with others.
We’re going to:
AFRO, DANCEHALL and HIGH HEELS on the menu for you to explore and expand your dance journey towards more enjoyment, love and movement freedom.
Level is OPEN TO EVERYONE, and we'll be challenging both our beginners & intermediate Queens and the workshops all include:
PRICE tickets:
Day pass — 55€
Full pass — 150€
SPOTS ARE LIMITED so SIGN UP NOW via email at [email protected].
Remember: we dance first, and think later
With love xx

ARTIST: Simon Bus
COUNTRY: The Netherlands 🇳🇱
WEBSITE: www.Bus-Simon.com
For Simon, breakdance is synonymous with uniqueness and originality. As a b-boy, he develops his own movement language from which being a maker is only a small step. Exploring the extreme possibilities of his own body, he increasingly investigates other bodies. The starting point for his work is a mix of fascinations for the discomfort of everyday life and the resilience and expressiveness of the body. The game between having control and losing control is a recurring element in this. Besides breakdance as the ultimate source of inspiration, he finds points of departure in Butoh and in the work of Albert Camus, Egon Schiele, Jim Jarmusch and David Lynch. Like Shane Boers, Simon feels inspired in his makership by Instinctive Performance, the specific approach to movement with which Guilherme Miotto stimulates people to open the body, activate the personal layers of physical knowledge and encourage dancers to dialogue with their technique. instead of just executing it.
