Hard work pays off. Our next Techno Minded Hero is a good example of this saying. He managed to get a lot of support on his productions by a great number of Techno Minded Heroes on such a short time. To name a few: Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Developer, Inigo Kennedy, Arnaud Le Texier and the list goes on and on. Great job!

He produced an astonishing amount of tracks on short notice and if you hear those productions you will hear that he is not cutting corners. His sound is best described as massive, deep and with an ongoing drive.

Our next Techno Minded Hero is a young and talented DJ from Malmo, Sweden. Not a unknown place for us, because it is also the hometown from Drone Podcast participant Don Woezik (Drone Podcast N0. 079). Our next hero has a great love for hypnotic Techno and Techno with an ongoing drive. His various Podcast sessions and gigs are a solid proof of this fact. While being involved with multiple styles of music in his career he found his true love for Techno music. We are happy to have him here on the Drone Podcast show.

In this mix you can expect a great vibe, an ongoing drive packed in a solid mix. We would like to welcome to the Drone family and here for the Drone Podcast No. 105: Dan Darco.

Welcome to a new episode of the Drone Podcast. First up a big thanks to Dan Darco for his hypnotic techno set. We really enjoyed it!

Now it’s time for our next Techno Minded Hero, or should we say ’Heroes’, to take the helm on the show. We would like to welcome Wunderblock! Wunderblock is founded ten years ago in Moscow and excists of Michael Teplov, Igor Ivanov and Vladimir Kochenov. This project focuses on experimental techno with a touch of jazz and ambient.

The last decade Wunderblock released music on labels as Planet Rhythm, Labrynth, Ketama Records and more. In 2013 Wunderblock decided it was time for their own imprint and started Wunderblock Records.

Wunderblock provides us this week with a live recording from their gig from Mosaique club in St. Petersburg. As they said themselves it was a mayhem party and the recording reflects on that.

We really loved the recording and know for sure the listeners will as well. So without further ado we are more than excited to have on the Drone Podcast No. 106: Wunderblock.

Amsterdam, hometown of our next Techno Minded Hero. This Hero is one the founders of the event called Eerste Communie (stands for: First Communion). Together with his partner in crime ’Skar’ they have organized a number of great events in and around our beloved city Amsterdam. One of those well known party’s were held on very special location. As a partygoer your were dancing your feet of on a boat. Floating around in a intimate setting with some proper Techno. In collaboration with’’Strak’they brought ’Nachtvaren’ to live with succes and immediatly made name for themselves. They had some great names on the roster like: Drumcell, Bram Fidder, YYYY, Alfredo Mazzilli, Saam, and offcourse Skar, to name a few.

Our next Techno Minded Hero played in the a lot of Amsterdam’s known clubs like: ClubNL, Panama, Sugarfactory, Westergasterras and many more. We are pretty sure that we will be hearing more from this talented hero.

And we are glad to have him on the show.

For this weeks podcast he granted us a mix that takes well over an hour of rolling minimalistic deep sounds, jungle percussions and pumping kicks.

Now in the mix for the Drone Podcast No. 103: MARRON.

For this weeks episode of the Drone Podcast we stay in Holland, at our homebase to be precise. We like to welcome back one of the founders of Drone Existence once again.

The Drone Podcast recently celebrates their 100th edition. With this milestone Drone Existence has one message and that is that they are here to stay. A great number of great artists that provide a set with one thing in common: the never-ending love for Techno music. Our next Techno Minded Hero is no exception. With a gig at cluster last month and gigs ahead of him this year, he is eager to stay involved with Techno Music. Therefore he is back once more.

This Techno Minded Hero always comes with a lot of power and driving energy, and for his input for this weeks episode you can expect nothing less.

Welcome to the Drone Podcast. It’s been a while since we had this Techno Minded Hero on the show. He had a really strong set for the Drone Podcast No.044. We are more than happy to welcome him back again, and this time he teamed up with another great hero.

Buenos Aires, Argentina. Homebase of these guys, but there are a few labels on which they feel home as well like: Knotweed Records, Reaktive Records and Paranoid Dancer, to name a few. Together they like to explore the deeper Detroit and more funky side of Techno. But always with an ongoing groove. Keep an eye out for these guys.

Another week, another podcast! This time we stay in the Netherlands and travel up to the north, Friesland. Here we have found an artist that does not limit himself to one specific style of techno.

When playing a set he builds upon his drive and sometimes adding electro and house to the mix. He always is on the lookout for special tracks that are in his opinion the gems a set can make or break.

Next to DJing and producing music he organizes his own events, called Technostate, in collaboration with Bass Collectors. Their events have been held in warehouses, clubs and even a stage hosting on the yearly held Play! Festival. Sure something to keep your eyes on!

TOn this weeks show we travel to Stuttgart, Germany for our next Techno Minded Hero. He started DJing with vinyl from a young age and was noticed by many great promoters which resulted in playing in places like the infamous Tresor Berlin. With Djing in his fingers he expanded his vision on Techno as a producer. Again it didn’t take much time for him being noticed by labels, like the one from the late great Techno Minded Hero Mike Wall’s: Wall Music. Other great labels that we can mention are Counter Pulse, Neuhain, De-Konstrukt, to name a few.

Nowadays he is working as a label manager at music distributor DigDis!

For this weeks podcast he granted us with a 2 hour live mix recorded at Subground Magdeburg. You can expect 2 hours of pounding and banging techno tracks. A great dose of energy provide by our next Techno Minded Hero.

Now in the mix for the Drone Podcast No. 102: Chris Koegler.

We are back with the 97th edition of the Drone Podcast, and for this edition were going to São Paulo, Brazil!

These Techno Minded Hero’s and brothers, Rafael Lopez (ex-Los 3 Brasileros) and Phabian Edward have been around for a while. Getting their first local gig at the age of 12 and 14 in 1996.

In 2008 Phabian started Válvula Records, to innovate the electronic music market with new artists of the Brazilian scene in the pursuit of underground Techno.

Since 2013 they operate as a new project, where they cluster all their knowledge of techno, house, and Detroit called Afrozoid. In 2015 they made their European debut with a bang by beginning in one of the holy grails of techno, Tresor Berlin! Ever since that they been regularly crossing over for gig’s in Stockholm, Birmingham, Berlin, Malmo, Amsterdam and more!

For our next Drone Podcast, we have got two Techno Minded Heroes from Turin, Italy. This collaboration project started in 2012. Since then they are an integral part of the Turin’s scene, where they regularly gig up as resident DJ/live set for Genau Turin and have been smashing European clubs like Tresor Berlin, Loud Club, Factory Milano, Cap10100, Bunker, Boiler, Doctor Sax and festivals like Varvara Festival, Movement Torino, Kappa Futur Festival.

As a live act, they perform with analog synths, drum machines, and computers.

They have released on labels like GND Records, EDR and N.O.I.A. with upcoming tracks on Planet Rhythm and Motech, as well as the new release for Mark Broom’s Beard Man Records.

For our next Techno Minded Hero, we are going to holy ground, the birth place of Techno, Detroit!
He is a familiar face at Blank code’s Scene parties, One of Detroit’s premier events. And releasing his vision of Techno on their label. With recently a remix for Brian Sanhaji’s EP, Panic. He has also been releasing op Tunnel’s Webuildmachines label, Ekvilibrium Recordings and Detroit underground.

For this Drone Podcast, He granted us something special. The recording of his gig at Movement 2017, The legendary Detroit festival. Where he shared the Resident Advisor Underground Stage with Orphx, Ryan Elliott, Sleeparchive, DVS1, and STERAC ,where he kicked off the 2nd-day of the festival.

For the next Drone Podcast, we have got a talented and upcoming Techno Minded Hero from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Influenced by the sound of Berlin, charged off
textures, strong bass lines, hypnotic synths and experimental environments, he began to publish his own material on renowned labels like Pfirter’s Mindtrip, Planet Rhythm, Polegroup, and many more.

This Year he has begun a project with Miki Craven and Mental Resonance which is called Dead Rose, a platform dedicated to releasing music in all its nuances and has got his first European bookings at two of most prominent spots out there: Arena Club, Berlin at Oecus and Esch events and Moog club, Barcelona. On Oecus he performed on stage with names like Lewis Fautzi (Polegroup) and Lawrence Kurt one of the names behind the ongoing Oecus events in Berlin these days. We predict that this strong debut in Europe will develop into a lot more bookings for the future.

This producer and DJ has been around for a while, releasing on labels such as A.Paul’s Naked Launch, Mastertraxx, Glenn Wilson’s Compound, Gobsmacked, Hue Helix to name a few, and since 2010 he started his own label ’’Local Sound Network’’ on which he released much of his own work and music by artists like Lars Klein, Audio Injection, Excluded and other’s!

This Techno Minded Hero knows his music as you can hear on the latest Drone Podcast. He granted us the second part of a set recorded the 8th of April 2017 at HAGANE.

For our next Techno Minded Hero, we have got one of our personal favorite heroes.

We first saw him perform in 2003 at one of the infamous Traffic party’s in the Melkweg, Amsterdam with his partner in crime Rumenige. We’re blown away directly. And we weren’t the only one, Rocco from Awakenings was also a witness of the madness they brought. Put them on Awakenings festival, and from that moment till 2007, they have been frequently seen guests in the Dutch party scene!

He has been a professional DJ since 1994 holding residences at U.Club/Subclub (Bratislava/Slovakia). He started his own productions in 1996, He was mainly known for being Olga+Jozef and also standing behind PVC, Antidandruff, and Numb labels. On antidandruff, he released the mix cd: EVERGREENS AND EVERBLACKS. Which is in our opinion one of the best off-beat techno works out there, and stood trough the test time, and we definitely recommend that your search the internet for it, to have a listen. So you know what we are talking about!

On top of his own productions, he’s remixed artists Regis, Function, Oscar Mulero, Mark Broom, Radial, Takaaki Itoh, Makaton, Christian Wunsch, Anton Pieete, and Hardcell to name some.

For our next Techno Minded Hero, we have one born in Romania, but currently based in Italy.

This talented producer first had releases on Nulabel, Deadcert, Plunk Recordings, and more recent and forthcoming releases on Decoy,7teen Recordings, Concepto Hipnotic, Electrax, DMT recordings, Toxic Recordings, Berlin Underground.

Besides all of this, at this moment he has found a home at Wall Music. Where beloved guest at walls-events and at the moment working on bringing to life a sublabel of Wall Music, a new platform on which to showcase his own interpretation of the techno. So be on the look-out for that.

2017 will bring plenty of new material and collaborations with Mike Wall, MZR, Samuel L. Session and long time friends Vidrik and Eduard Szilagyi (Aka Yute).

For the Drone Podcast, he granted us a hybrid live/set, mainly with his own work completed with a few tracks by Wall Music Artists and Close friends. With most being an exclusive premiere

For our next Drone Podcast, we have got a Techno Minded Hero from Naples, Italy. The hometown of techno legends like Marco Carola, Rino Cerrone, Gaetano Parisio. Himself born in a family of musicians. Combine this and it isn’t a wonder that this talented producer ended up in the techno scene.

His first release was picked up by A.Paul’s Naked LuncH Records and since then he has been putting fine release after releases on Kombination Research, Green Fetisch, Illegal Alien, Impact Mechanics, Reloading.

For the Drone Podcast, he granted us an experimental set combining Industrial en new school techno sounds

His vision on Techno is portrayed not only in his music and sets, but also in his input to create a Techno friendly environment in his hometown Malmo, and as a co-worker on an underground club Malmorave.

Our next Techno Minded Hero is established as an artist since the 90s and under his current name since 2005. Most of us already know this hero but for those who doesnt, you are in for a real treat.

He is surrounded by great heroes like Samuel L Session, Jeff Rushin and more, and running his label on which he has releases from known heroes like Simo Lorenz, Rocco Caine and more like Distale and Saam. Our next Techno Minded Hero is always in a good company.

The fact his movement is all about Techno music, straight up with no compromises, taking a step away from the commercial engine and embrace the purity. has really stolen our heart. The way we like it and in our opinion, like it should be.

With spring just breaking through, we opted for our next Techno Minded Hero with a sound a little bit less dark, but full of energy and groove. This Budapest-born artist has been performing all over the globe the last few years in Switzerland, Hungary, The Netherlands, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Italy, India, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Taiwan, Malta, Bulgaria, Russia.

In 2012 he founded Egothermia Recordings in order to complete the Egothermia platform as a supporting tool for young artists. The whole platform itself is Designed as unique integral researching platform for studio sound experimenting, stage performances and multimedia presentation of new sonic structures. The label philosophy is as simple as pure: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. Its whole purpose is to support the artists in spreading their creative output in the both music universes, analog and the digital one. With this vision, he has been releasing quality music from Alberto Ruiz, Dani Sbert, Kohra, Peppelino, Subjects.

And for the Drone Podcast he put a fresh set together with only his own productions which covers about 90% of unreleased material!

In march of next year he will be performing at Soenda, one of the bigger indoor techno festival’s here in Holland. He will be sharing the line-up with names like Ben Klock, Luke Slater, Dax J, Vril, Clouds, Etapp Kyle, SNTS among others. He is the head honcho of the Electrax Music label group which includes some of our favorite labels like Elektrax Recordings, Gynoid Audio, Android Muziq, Darknet, Translucent, Achromatiq, Counter Pulse, AcidWorx, and Hypnotic Room. And his own production collection is a true treasure trove which are being played by the biggest names in the scene. 

His latest release’s on Counter Pulse include “Dish” a team up with Trinity with remixes from Mary Velo and Headless Horseman, “Gion” which include a Black hats edit and “Gamera” a four tracker with a selection of no-nonsense, pure techno funk that is powerful, functional, and made for underground techno floors. 

Besides being a prolific producer, he is rocking gigs and label nights in Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, China and Japan, where he just completed his latest tour. If you ask us, it’s time for a label night here in Europa!

Defuse Records started in 2009 as an independent label of Techno/Tech-House music, with an aspiration to create a pumping dance atmosphere for clubbers.

Defuse has a keen eye for talent, So many of our Techno Minded Heroes like Model1, Ziv Avriel, Rustig and Dispar Vulgo, have brought tracks out trough them.

We are honored to have them here and they granted us the live recording of their performance at Patterns Beach Festival near Amsterdam. He is part of the Systolic label, which stands for an exploration in wide range of deep hypnotic techno and ambient soundscapes.

Also on the 13th of August, he will be joining fellow Systolic label members, like Atmospheric Transmissions and Spork, and welcoming the Parisian Blocaus resident AWB at CABO Terrace on Malta. So if your spending your holidays in or around Malta, we definitely recommend that you join them!

Our next Techno Minded Hero is an Italian dj and producer who has been active since the start of the century. While working as a dj, he quickly began to realize that the only way to really express himself and his musical ideas through his own productions.To pursue such an ambitious goal he started a key partnership with Paul S-tone in 2005. A fellow countryman with releases on Compost Records, Streetvibes Group and Black Box group. Thanks to the support of Paul S-Tone, active as a modular synthesizers builder, this national hero has some great releases on his name on which he teams up with many great heroes like Forest People, Hans Bouffmhyre, and Alex Bau. They released on record labels such as the SYSTEM RECORDINGS, PLUSQUAM RECORDS, MYDUST RECORDS, PEON MUSIC, FUNKATRONIC, CODE2 RECORDS and his own label ANALOGIC SOUND RECORDINGS. Now on the Drone Podcast we are again heading back to Spain, this time Leon to be precise, This Techno Minded hero started spinning techno in 1995 and in 1997 promoting his own event’s. Since 2008 he has been releasing on labels like Antirimo, zimmer-records, Geometrika FM Netlabel, Ars Obscurae, Cicuta Netlabel and Ibyat.

Under aliases as Lifeblood or Neural Society, he has presenting different shades of his own unique sound of techno. For the drone podcast he delivered an 1 hour vinyl set on which he will slap you around with raw, static beats with an enormous drive.

Our next Techno Minded Hero is a true legend. He has been around since the early 90s and has been an inspiration for many with an well deserved reputation as a producer’s producer.

This DJ/Producer from New York started producing pure, minimalist analogue-minded techno in the vein of early Plastikman and Joey Beltram around the mid 90s. Releasing on labels such as Synewave, Novamute, Probe, Fine Audio Recordings and his very own label Proper NYC.

His sample libraries have been featured in many leading publication. Specifically, his Locked Groove series Proper’s Grooves was picked by Future Music magazine as one of their all time top 5 sample collections. In short, his sound is second to none and has been sought out by the best in the industry, time and time again.

Since then he is counted among the steady Ensemble of Berlin’s legendary club.
Nowadays, he and three allies with the series of events, New Faces, which forms a platform for the performance of fresh talent in the legendary club. Every first Wednesday of the month he starts his own special event under this flag seeking for new artists whom embody this spirit.

Since 2011 he is also making a name for himself as a steady producer. The list of labels upon which he has releases is astonishing. Synewave, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Driving Forces Recordings, Starkstrom Schallplatten, Loose Records, Mastertraxx Records, Slap Jaxx, IF?Records, Chroma Recordings, Transculent, Darknet, Hypnotic Room Recordings, BCR, and more. It is almost hard to believe that such a fantastic discography can be formed in this short amount of time.

Bologna, Italy is the city we travel to for our next Techno Minded Hero. Born in 1985 and discovered his passion for techno at a very young age. He was only 12 years old when he began to purchase his first records of electronic music. It was only a matter of time before he developed the interest in synthesizers and drum machine’s which led him through the maze of musical production.

Since 2010 he has made several albums and EP’s using different aliases, one is Detroit Pulse Machine, founded with his friend and colleague Robert Tamascelli.

The group’s objective is to address the Detroit sound, closer to the origin of Techno. His musical influences combine dark atmospheres, ambient and experimental sounds purely analog and modular.

In recent years he became aware of his potential creating his own musical style that deviates from the mainstream. Always having room to experiment with the more darker and acidic sounds of techno.

He recently became a resident for the wild noize Amsterdam parties and just between us, he also frequently performs at illegal raves in and around Amsterdam like the infamous Hakkebijlen, which he recently closed the last edition with a killer set!

Playing to appreciative crowds from just a few hundred sweaty techno heads in the Mercat Basement, showcase gigs for clubs such as Honkytonks and festivals such as War of the Worlds and Two Tribes.

As one of the founding members of the Melbourne Techno Collective and as label boss of Haul Recordings, this hero has forced his own unique sound, influenced equally by the sounds of Detroit, House and Dub Techno.

With a string of releases on his First label Haul Music, and current label Atrophic Society under the alias Vohkinne, his productions are now attracting global attention. Describing his music as tough, textural techno, Craig has released remixes and EPs for labels like Electric Deluxe, Steadfast records, Sub Squared, Attemporal and many more

Drawing upon his wealth of DJing experience and a gift for sound design, he crosses the boundaries of techno and house with precision and intent, creating dancefloor focussed music that speaks to both mind and feet.

Also we can mention that he has a new release coming up in February 2016 (AS005) and he will be playing at the Eclipse Festival in Indonesia 2016.

On this week we welcome someone new to the Drone Family.

Born in Venezuela, working out of Barcelona, this new family member has been very busy with releasing tracks on numerous labels such as the reincarnated label Primate Recordings. Primate was one of the iconic early techno labels in the late nineties and early zero’s, with massive banger’s like: Ben Sims – Manipulated Remixes, Adam Beyer and Lenk - Drum Code No.1 Remix E.P. and so much more legendary music. In 2015 they re-launched the label with young, fresh and exiting producers. Our new Techno Minded Hero is one of them. Besides this, he is also the owner of Different is Different Records and got release’s on, NB Records, Home Audio Recordings, Primevil, Slap Jaxx and many more.
This man is not confined only to techno, his idea is not to limit yourself and to keep diversity! Therefore, he uses different kinds of electronic music , which make his sets unique.

Recovered from ADE we have a very special edition in store for you again, we are thrilled to have this Techno minded Hero on this weeks show. A young man with a bright future ahead of him. Packed with talent and lots of experience in Techno and House music. His skills and interests are combining acoustic sounds like the piano with hardware to create his
own house and techno sound. From a young age he was inspired by music such as Jazz, Soul, Blues and Funk that made him start to play the piano. While discovering his love for techno music and for house music a long time ago, he also found his love for hardware, producing and performing. A big talent with lots of experience. This year he will have all his focus on the one great love: Techno music.

This is the second live set on the Drone Podcast. Performing with his Roland Juno 106 and MFB-522, he works with only his own productions and tracks. This hero loves to go wild with chopped up kicks, drums, stabs, hats, synths and so much more. He is known for his dynamic sets and for always pushing himself. A true perfectionist and performer in his heart and in his soul.

We are also very proud to say announce he is working hard on his first vinyl release that will be released in January 2015 on Nighttripper label from Techno pioneer Orlando Voorn. Definitely an artist to follow. And don’t worry. He will be around.

To develop his own sound he took a long journey into the influences that the electronic music industry has to offer. It didn’t took him very long to realise that he had one true love: Techno.
Always pushing himself forward and working hard, he is known for delivering quality Techno over and over again. With his technical abilities he takes the crowd with him on his journey throughout the finest and most energetic side of Techno. A perfect balance and build-up through his set is definitely one to remember.
His hard work pays off, because he is playing among hero’s like James Ruskin, Joel Mull, Brian Sanhaji and last month he was playing amongst the great Perc.
He already took over Amsterdam by shredding clubs like the Studio 80 and The Sugar Factory. And he also performed on parties like: Compound, Chateau Techno, Nachtsport and Mystic Garden. Keep an eye out on the Amsterdam dance event [ADE] this October. He will be playing @ the Dockyard Festival this Saturday the 18th of October.
