Night Demon Heavy Metal Podcast
This week we resume the narrative of Night Demon's early days. We pick up the story in the summer of 2013. Jarvis remains extremely active with the Heartbeats, who release a punk covers EP and embark on their most ambitious tour. But he longs for a band situation and is nostalgic for the heavy metal of his youth, so he decides to make Night Demon his top priority. In the meantime, Night Demon is taking off. The band has a string of successful shows in California in the summer of 2013, winning over new fans at every turn. The self-titled EP finally receives a physical release in vinyl, CD and cassette formats, with an uptick in press inquiries, reviews and interviews. The band conducts its first proper photo shoot. The summer shows yield a contact with a pivotal figure in Night Demon history, and also a near-death experience providing lyrical fodder for "Run for Your Life." Jarvis works diligently in the trenches to promote Night Demon via telephone calls and in-person visits to record stores to convince them to stock the EP. Doing things the old-school way in the new world pays dividends.
