On May 1, 2020, Night Demon released their second 7" single of 2020, featuring new original track "Kill the Pain" on the A-side. That song is a prominent part of the Year of the Demon compilation album to be released in March 2022. Then we examine the history of the song, beginning with the original riff tape recorded in Louisville, Kentucky in 2015. The band explains how that riff resurfaced in 2018 during a stint in Hamburg, Germany, and how Night Demon began shaping it into the song it ultimately became. Multiple demos from various times are aired, with band members explaining what changes had been made and why. They discuss how the live version diverges from the recorded version. We end this episode with Night Demon making the long journey to Copenhagen, Denmark to record the track with the assistance of legendary producer Flemming Rasmussen.
