On the latest episode of Release Ramble, I have the joy of speaking to long-time supporter of the PunkStance page and pop-punk solo artist Jack Adamant. Having covered his work back in 2022, Jack and I became good friends and have vehemently supported each other ever since, so it was only a matter of time before he made his way onto the podcast. His recent release 'Over Signs' has been a huge success for Jack, and in this episode he goes into the trials and tribulations of its conception. Not only that, we take a deep dive into the way technology and social media has affected the lives of independent artists such as Jack; from apps like TikTok and Instagram shortening our attention span to the death of tangible music, the conversation between me and Jack is well worth listening into.
Thank you to Jack for coming on the show and I look forward to hearing what comes next for Jack Adamant. Be sure to listen to 'Over Signs' here:https://open.spotify.com/album/2yEvDqqmVS4Ukw1N1ZbNUg?si=kendFL2TTDij1OlFPvroQA

On the latest episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I reconnect with old friend, fellow radio man and offensively blonde man Josh Dixon. Having known each other for well over a decade, it was only a matter of time before Josh found himself on my podcast to talk all things music. From the classic Britpop power of the Stone Roses to the Icelandic inspiration that is KALEO, Josh's influences span a myriad of styles, soundscapes and countries. But it's not all music as you would expect from two friends catching up. We also debate about the best chocolate box, the concept of free will in congruence with lasagna and share both some poetry and some dating horror stories. Moreover, Josh and I have a major announcement at the end of this episode, so stay tuned to the very end!

In the latest episode of Release Ramble, I have the joy of talking to pop-punk solo artist Tyler Kozsey, professionally known as Copaxetic, about his latest singles. With influences ranging from hyperpop to modern hip-hop, Tyler's sound is unlike anything I've heard before, but it still firmly rooted in that familiar pop-punk scene. Moreover, we also delve into Tyler's personal struggles with self-worth; as a solo artist, it can be tricky to remain motivated and optimistic about your own work, and Tyler very kindly extrapolates on those feelings with me. This was an insightful conversation into genres and stylistic choices I would never normally consider, and I very much appreciate Copaxetic for sharing this with me.
Thank you to Tyler for coming on the show and I look forward to hearing what comes next for Copaxetic. Be sure to listen to 'Alive' here: https://open.spotify.com/album/6kzVCSbyMgqmC61JfH9tIP?si=Z6qfy9VzRAailnaf_ZnO2g

In the latest episode of Release Ramble, I get chatting to Tobius Sundman, more commonly known as Blackborne. Following ten or so years in the metal scene, he has taken on his own project under the name Blackborne, and his debut single 'Death Is Not The End' is the first of many metal-inspired tracks he's developing. Releasing back on Valentine's Day under Legion Records, this debut single goes into great detail about grief and what lies after we die; it's an incredibly touching single that deals with some very difficult themes, something Tobius and I delve into ourselves. From spirituality and dealing with loss to the current state of the modern metal scene, this is a heavy episode that you don't want to miss.
Thank you to Tobius for coming on the show and I look forward to hearing what comes next for Blackborne. Be sure to listen to 'Death Is Not The End' here: https://open.spotify.com/album/6CRKDHiWAjCqWH7d5SDKMV?si=TXXYDqhfR_aI0Z7E1Q5QKw

On the latest episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I grace you with my own presence for the first time in a while. With so much change going on in my life, I felt it wise to catch everyone up with what's been happening and how things have altered in my life. From moving house to becoming single to changing jobs, I am uprooting my life in a way I never have before, and it's equally both exciting and nerve-racking. Moreover, to stick with the notions of change, I talk about a different genre of music I love: drum and bass. This sound has been changing my life ever since the start of the last decade, and I wanted to share a little bit of the past with you in line with my love for the "DnB" scene.
Thank you to everyone who continues to listen to the podcast and I'll see you all on the other side.

On the latest episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I chat to the frontman of Canadian rock band Daysick, Logan. Their latest single 'Lessons' comes after a lengthy hiatus for the band, but marks a new chapter in their existence as an outfit. 'Lessons' is the debut single from their upcoming concept album, something that Logan goes into much more detail throughout this episode. Themes of grief, regret and self-discovery all make appearances within the record, and Logan beautifully describes how they all blend together by the end. Whack in some casual chats about rugby and Canadian craft beer culture and you have an episode well worth raising a glass to.

On the latest episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I speak with professor and punk-rock lover Ian Zapcic and his adoration for the hit record 'The '59 Sound' by The Gaslight Anthem. The album has followed Ian through countless moments of his life; from his relationships to finally getting his PhD, The Gaslight Anthem has been, well the "anthem" of his adult life. We delve into some very heavy topics throughout this episode, from anxiety and depression to losing close friends, to addiction and even radicalisation in men; no stone is left unturned. But that didn't stop us from going on our usual tangents, with Brewdog hotels and anecdotes about blatant swearing also making the cut. Thank you so much to Ian for coming on the show and I wish you all the best in the future.

Following the success of their first EP 'Heaven's Gate' back in 2024, Jake has returned to the show to discuss their latest release 'Asleep At The Wheel', as well as the future of the band itself. I drove down to their studio in Kent for this episode and had the joy of seeing the band in action, something we go into further detail throughout the episode. Add in some general chat about the privilege of aging, our love for physical copies of music and the entirety of the Midlands and you have an episode of Release Ramble you don't want to miss!

On the first episode PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast in 2025, I talk to the latest in a long line of pop-punk fans Samia. Also, known as Lyrical Lies, Samia approached me through Reddit to discuss her love for the UK's very own pop-punkers You Me At Six and her journey from Southern Iraq to Illinois in America. Following a strict upbringing, pop-punk allowed Samia to express herself in her own idiosyncratic way, though that didn't stop her respecting her heritage. We talk about everything from parental guidance to limited edition band merch, the English monarchy and even different types of tea; a very English conversation indeed. This is a round-up of every gig, concert and experience that music played a vital role in throughout the year; everything from a mountain climb to the Beer and Cider Festival are discussed in the unscripted ode to the world of live pop-punk music.

On the latest episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I speak with Yellowcard fan Daphne Sullivan. While sitting in her car, Daphne discusses her love for the band's 2012 record Southern Air and the impact it has had on her life. From her travels across the US in a mountaineering troop to her time at a myriad of festivals, Daphne is a pop-punk lover with plenty of stories to share. Moreover, we delve into the anxieties of life and the alterations and changes the pop-punk genre has gone through, each subject just as interesting as the last. On the latest episode of Release Ramble, I am joined by Brandon and Thomas of the pop-punk group Picking Up Pedro. Originally based in Florida, this dynamic duo released their first self-titled EP a decade ago back in 2014, but after ten years worth of adventures and stories, they are back with their latest single 'Break up the Wedding'. This was a fantastic conversation with two very passionate lads, both of which delved into their respective roles in the band. From the hidden meanings in their lyrics to the inception of their latest single's lead riff, this discussion is centred on their musical talents. Not only that, but if you want to know where the band name "Picking Up Pedro" came from, you're only going to find it here. On the latest episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I am welcomed by writer, hospitality expert and soon-to-be sister-in-law Rebekah Lee. Following her introduction in the recent Slam Dunk Special episode, Becka wanted to discuss her own musical interests, specifically the band Against The Current and their plethora of material over the last ten years. From getting stuck in Leeds in the middle of winter to her upbringings in Buckinghamshire and Lincoln, we delve into the journey she has taken so far and the impact this pop-punk band has had on that very journey. We also touch on the connection both Becka and Against The Current's frontwoman Chrissy Costanza have in terms of grief and the acceptance of death, a very heavy but necessary conversation. On the latest episode of Release Ramble, I talk to the frontman of Los Angeles melodic hardcore band Oceans Away. Robbie indulges us in his unique experiences as a band member, quite literally travelling across the world to find his place in the industry. From LA to Munich, the conception of this band is rooted in his travels and it was an incredible story to listen to. Every song captures a moment of this pilgrimage, but their latest track, appropriately titled 'TRANSATLANTIC' sheds light on the creation of Oceans Away and the stories they have today. Not only that, but Robbie and I delve into our own experiences of living with anxiety; from medication to overpowering your fears, this was a grounded and touching discussion about mental health and the power music can have on two different people on opposite sides of the world. Thank you so much to Robbie for coming on the show and I look forward to seeing what Oceans Away has in-store for 2025.

From his humble rhythmic beginnings in Virginia to his contemporary work in Portland, Oregon, Dave and I float through his life as a lover of pop-punk and his career within it. Everything from the moguls of the golden era to the underground UK scene make an appearance, as well as the usual unrelated and engaging topics like Resident Evil II, the concept of "Corporate America" and getting stoned. On the 12th episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I reward your patience and am joined by a previous guest, one who wanted an episode all to themselves; bassist of both The New Normal and Loss Of Signal Carlin Brown. With discussions about grief, relationships, anxiety and positive mental attitudes, Carlin and I soar across a plethora of mental health topics, all wrapped up in an upbeat and engaging discussion about his love for rock music. Spanning the late 70s to the modern day, Carlin's influences are all-encompassing and made for one of my most interesting podcasts to date. On this fifth episode of Release Ramble, I have the pleasure of talking with Chicago pop-punk quartet Farhampton. Following the release of their latest single 'Wishful Thinking', the band were ready and raring to talk about the meaning behind their new track. We delve into everything from personal grief to recent heartbreaks and illustrate just how wide-reaching the themes and instrumentation of the song are. Outside of that, we talk the "Chicago Rathole", football hooliganism and my previous YouTube video about them even gets a cheeky mention, much to my dismay. On this tenth episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, the titular host is riding solo once again as a result of having COVID. Following a 3-week hiatus, PunkStance is back to talk about the records that shaped his time in lockdown back in 2020. From the pop-punk powerhouses of Four Year Strong and Knuckle Puck to the underground darlings of Lightweights and A Dangerous Affair, PunkStance mentions every song and album that helped him endure the trials and tribulations of the pandemic. With the lockdown being what inspired the conception of PunkStance in the first place, it seems fitting to delve into where it all began while he remains quarantined, just be sure to keep your distance (that goes for when he doesn't have COVID too).

We go into details about the single, what's next for the band and even get an exclusive drop about some upcoming events. Mix that with some foul-mouthed giggles and what it's like to be a new band in the UK, and you have a fantastic conversation with a band who are just happy to be where they are. Following a write-up of their final 2023 single 'Water Bottle' the band are back with 'Wanted', their debut single of the new year. Releasing on February 29th, this track is a classic tale of modern day relationships, but one that has a unique Wishful Thinking edge. In this eighth episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I am joined by logistics legend, die-hard Millwall supporter and fiancée to Laura Carter, Aaron Freeman. This time, Aaron delves into the world of 90s Britpop, exploring arguably the band that started it all. Aaron's love for Oasis is palpable throughout our entire discussion, but of their numerous groundbreaking albums, it was their more underground 2000 release 'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants' that stuck with Aaron the most. We discuss the influence it has had on both his own life and modern music as a whole; from his adjacent love of football to his upbringing in South East England, this conversation is as engaging as it is raw.

Welcome back one and all to the very first episode of my new show Release Ramble. This show will not be replacing Albums That Saved My Life, but will instead allow artists and bands to relentlessly ramble about their latest releases, without the need for a hand-fisted unrelated album.
On this first episode, I am joined by the Great Yarmouth ska punk band Stank Finger whose debut album 'Three Finger Discount' dropped on Friday 19th January. With discussions about everything from the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game to toilet paper and confetti cannons, vocalist and guitarist James Pendle and I delve into the wonderful and goofy world of modern ska. We look into the trials and tribulations of being a band within the current music industry and have a little jab and giggle at their home town along the way. This time, Laura takes us on a hilarious adventure through her life and how her album of choice, the 1992 compilation album 'ABBA Gold' by the eponymous artist respectively, has influenced it. In this sixth episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I get the honour of speaking to salesperson, friend and fellow Curly-Whirly member Shaun Clohessy. In the final episode of 2023, Shaun and I take a "deep Dave" into the modern UK rap scene and the influence his chosen record has had on the industry, that being 'PTSD' by trap/hip-hop duo D-Block Europe respectively. Ranging from past health scares and personal anecdotes to the discontinuing of classic confectionary and the concept of nostalgia itself, this conversation gave me a beautiful insight not only into a music scene I know next to little about, but also into Shaun himself and the life he lived prior to our meeting.
When this goes up, it should be just a couple of days before Christmas, so I and the rest of the PunkStance team want to wish you all a very happy holiday. 2023 has been incredible for this page all thanks to your continued support and I'm so excited to see what 2024 has to offer.

This time, Carlo explores his own creative process going back to his earliest work all the way to his recent singles, all in conjunction with his album of choice, the 1984 compilation record "Hatful of Hollow" by The Smiths. It has played a vital role in his pursuit of music, influencing every single song he's written; to go into his discography and reminisce about our collaborative projects was an absolute joy to be a part of. We discuss everything from growing up in the UK and childhood highs and lows to addiction and mental health, to even a brief mention of playing with our genitalia, so a variety of topics. In this second episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast, I get the absolute joy of having no guest and talking with myself again. This time, I take a look at one of 2023's most uplifting and objectively positive pop-punk albums, one that exists solely to improve the lives of its listeners. It offers up a listening experience that is as thought-provoking as it is positive and I look forward to hearing just how good it makes my listeners feel. Once again, enjoy my solitary ramblings; hopefully next time I'll find a friend who wants to talk music, or just grab someone off the street, who knows?

Welcome to the first episode of PodStance: The PunkStance Podcast. This is the latest project I have undertaken to showcase my love for modern pop-punk music, amongst other genres. In this episode, I take a solo journey down memory lane and talk about an album very near and dear to my heart, one that has shaped the very musical future that I am living in now. As the show goes on, I hope to have guests, friends and all kinds of people venturing onto the show, but for now it's just little ol' me, so I hope you enjoy my ramblings.
