It's no exaggeration when we state that we grew up in record stores. From our early teens right up to this writing, we had a variety of shops that were/are our homes away from home.
These hallowed halls come with a variety of memories you just don't get with streaming. So this week we figured we'd give these cherished shops a "Horns Up" and share some memories. For instance, some of the cool albums we found, autograph signings and the awesome interactions we had some of the awesome people behind the counters. What are some of your cool record store memories?
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we go off on the cancelled Canadian King Diamond dates and our friends appear in the new Toxic Avenger comics. Musically, we crank some new + used from Verbal Abuse, Living Death, Warcollapse, Sabire, Bitch School, Satan's Fall and introduce trad metallers Bronze in our "Indie Spotlight".
Horns Up!
Happy Halloween!
We love this time of year. But not only for all the spooky season goodness. Our annual Halloween episode is always a barnburner. For the festivities this year we test Aaron's horror film knowledge with an appropriate number of 13 trivia questions. We also pose the question "Would you buy any records from a serial killer's collection?"
And of course, we discuss the Ozzy HOF induction. Musically, we crank a stack o wax with Warfare, MDC, House By The Cemetery, Sadist w/Claudio Simonetti, Vincent Crowley, Savaged, Texas Toast Chainsaw Massacre and Necronomicon Ex Mortis.
Horns Up and Happy Halloween!!
Canadian legends Rush are obviously huge around the RAM offices. And our own Aaron is a badass bassist as well. So of course we both got sucked right into the Paramount + mini series "Geddy Lee Asks 'Are Bass Players People Too' ".
The bassist extraordinaire spends time with four major music movers and shakers that strum the four strings. The program sent our imaginations into overdrive.
This week we fantasy book our own Season Two. Our picks range from some all time greats to underground underdogs to Lemmy (??!!).
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss Gojira at The Olympics. Musically, we crank some Ironflame, Tokyo Blade, Poison Idea, Malignancy, Helms Deep, Warlust and introduce Florida trad metallers Living Fast in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up!
Pop culture figures venturing into the Music World is hit and miss. Legendary actor Christopher Lee hit it out of the park. While Bruce Willis and Eddie Murphy - not so much. Once again a casual point in conversation inspired this week's discussion. And we came up with our own athletes, actors, etc that we'd like to see take a shot at Metaldom. Elvira doing a Goth project? Or even Samuel L. Jackson doing a 70s jazz record. Take our money!!
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we're less than receptive to the new "Twisters" flick and Nickelback doc. Musically, we crank some new and used from Wraith, Warlord, Iron Angel, Witchsnake, Corky and the Juice Pigs and introduce Vancouver hardcore bashers Fearbirds in our "Indie Spotlight".
Horns Up!
It's no secret that we love music related documentaries. It's always interesting when the talking heads get their brains picked on an equally interesting subject. One particular doc that has gotten attention is the "Records Collecting Dust" and it's sequel.
Being vinyl fanatics, it's so cool diving into some our fave artists record collections with them. These amazing docs have inspired us to do our own audio version. We share our first vinyl, some cool collectibles and a fistful of essential platters. Featuring some amazing records ranging from Sodom to The Crue to Bob Newhart (??). What are some of your faves?
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we attend the 2024 Ai-Kon anime/manga con and discuss the Legend of Seth Putnam. Musically, we crank Paul Di'Anno's Warhorse, Destroyer 666, Iron Reagan, Overdrive (Swe), Steel Vengeance, Executioner (Boston) and The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black. Horns Up!
We all love Metallica here in the RAM offices. But those first four 80s albums was when our fandom burned brightest. And depending on the day, Record #2 "Ride The Lightning" is one of our faves. The combination of brutal thrash, brilliant musicianship and songwriting and bombastic attitude also makes it one of the more influential underground albums of the day. And this amazing slab 'o wax turns 40 (!!) years young. So we're doing a deep dive as part of our continuing look at some of the classics from '84. Lightning up your Ass!!
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we crank new and used from Bloodfeast, Bikini Kill, Warhead, Drift Into Black and introduce NYs Legionary in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up!
Last episode during our conversation about Yngwie Malmsteen's ripping debut, we causally mentioned the classic G3 tour. The G3 was a triple threat attack feat. Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson. It's a concept that had musical affianiodoes all abuzz. So we figured we'd share some of our fantasy G3s. Not only more traditional, but multiple subgenres as well. Which three axeslingers would you want to see tearing it up on stage?
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the concept of "Dad rock" and the new "Lisa Frankenstein" flick. Musically, we crank some Portrait, MDC, Cancer, Hate Eternal, Beyond Possession, Bloodbath, Yellow Fever and introduce Canuck punkers The Poor Choices in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns up!!
'84 saw the solo effort from axe virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen. "Rising Force" is an appropriate moniker as the record took the Metal World by storm. Not to mention it was kind of a trailblazing release. The 80's was definitely the era of the flamboyant frontman. But Malmsteen chose to let the music do the talking...literally. So this week we go through this musician's musician album. And Unleash The Fury!!
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we go over the "The Last Voyage of the Demeter" flick. And give a shout out to Zebra Boy from the "Heavy Metal Parking Lot" doc. Musically, we crank some new and used from Dead Kennedys, Whiplash, Adversarial, Venger, Haatan and introduce Italy's Lord Goblin in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up!
The music world rejoiced with the announcement of the upcoming "This Is Spinal Tap" sequel. Over the years The Tap has amassed such a strong and loyal following that we sometimes forget that it's not a real band, per say. Matter of fact, over the years some of our fave songs have been produced by ficticous outfits from various movies and TV.
As Metal Heads, we all love the The Lone Rangers, Sammi Curr and Dethklok. But there are a number of other great "bands" that may not be on the top of the brain. What are some of your faves?
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we talk "Godzilla: Minus One" on Netflix an Aaron educates with some Gear Talk. Musically, we crank some Gruesome, D.O.A., Reagan Youth, The Great Kat, Exorcist ('86), Rotten UK and Avenger.
Here Are the links to Nicko's Kit and performance:
Iron Maiden drummer’s ‘Legacy of the Royals’ drum set up for auction
The Mountbatten Festival of Music 2024 | The Bands of HM Royal Marines on YouTube (start at 59:46)
Horns Up!!
Our continuing look at the amazing albums of '84...well...continues. Celebrating its 40th (!!) anniversary is the classic self-titled W.A.S.P. debut. Gaining steam from the "controversial" Animal single, this full lengther hit the racks like a bat out of hell. And the mighty W.A.S.P. were off to a legendary career. We do a deep dive into the record going into how we discovered it, our fave tracks and the impact it had in multiple subgenres. And of course all the panties it bunched along the way. Where does this amazing album rank with you? I
n our "News, Views and Tunes", we discover a sequel to the "Records Collecting Dust" documentary and check out the late, great Killjoy's (Necrophagia) vinyl collection. Musically, we crank some Minor Threat, Cobra The Impaler, Split Dogs, Show N Tell, Death Tyrant and introduce Germany's Snow White Blood in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up!
Rolling Stone magazine took their moniker from the obvious place. We recently learned that CREEM mag did indeed borrow their name from the legendary Cream. So we realized there were a lot of artist's names that would make magazine titles as well. So this week we compiled our own list whose names fit the description of a cool magazine. "Jimi" would be a great guitar mag. "Doro" would be a cool for Ms. type mag for the ladies of the scene. How about "Bathory" for the Black Metal crowd? I'd say we came up with great choices.
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we crank some new + used from Cloven Hoof, Necrot, Chaos UK, Oxygen Destroyer, Killer (80s), Tarot (Swe.) Holocausto Cannibal and with introduce Sweden's Bronze in our Indie Spotlight. Horns Up!!
Our beloved Heavy Metal has always illicited strong reactions. The strong is evident by the huge international fan base. While the negative, let's just say HM has a rich tradition of scaring the hell out of Joe and Jane Average. Not only by the imagery that frequently goes along the music. But the emotions and ideals that back it up. Artists like Iron Maiden, Ozzy, AC/DC and Punk rock have kept normie boomers up at night. For that we say "Horns Up!" I
n our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss some cool rock docs and The Loch Ness Monster(??!!). Musically, we crank some Impaled Nazarene, Witch Vomit, Hellbutcher, Lori Bravo, JFA, Scowl and Terminal Nation. Horns Up!
Warning: This is going to be a unique episode.
We had so much of our other pop culture interests going on this week. So we decided to let what's left of our hair down and discuss our "Geek Week". This past weekend saw "May The Fourth", for all the Star Wars enthusiasts. As well as "Free Comic Book Day". Think RSD but for comics.
Finally we discussed the "GodzillxKong: The New Empire" flick. Not very Metal, we guess. But every Metalhead has their geeky side. How did you get your geek on?
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we go over the demise of the Sam Ash franchise and hit the live front. Musically, we crank some Striker, 1349, Black Death, DVC (Darh Vader's Church), Goathammer, Zombeast, Krash and introduce Yellowknife's (!!!) Gnarwhal in our "Indie Spotlight".
Horns up!!
Horns! Raise your goblets high as the mighty Ozzy Osbourne has been inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame.
Sure, the Ozz Man is already in with Black Sabbath. But the guy has a storied solo career worthy of induction. And not just for the vast discography and concert draw. Ozzy is a household name courtesy of a number of other avenues. Some good. Some not so good. So this week we're going to focus on Ozzy's solo career. All the highs and lows. And share our fave song, album, live experience and album cover.
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we go over the rest of the inductees and put over a cool local author. Musically, we crank some Warlord , Slaughter (Can), Dopethrone, Morgul Blade and introduce Canadian Black/Doom metallers Bayrolles in our "Indie Spotlight".
Horns Up!
The 2024 Record Store Day is in the books. We had a variety of RSD exclusive releases in mind when we set out this past weekend morn. One particular platter was the '77 Ennio Morricone "Orca" soundtrack. The flick is an old fave about a vengeful killer whale seeking revenge on the fisherman that slaughtered his family. We obsessed over this record, bouncing from shop to shop. Kind of a real life Captain Ahab as he obsessed over his elusive whale in classic novel "Moby Dick". Just call us Ismael.
Was RSD a success for you? Do you find your booty? In our "News, Views and Tunes", we pay tribute to two legends and announce the 2024 This Is Hardcore fest. Musically, crank some Witchfinder General, Cold As Life, ACXDC, Pentagram (Chile), Seth, Castle Rat and we introduce Quebec bashers Backstabber in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up!
We have a number of pop culture interests outside our beloved genre. Our fandom in the wonderful world of comic books outdates our residency in Metaldom. Indie comic companies have been clamoring to present stories about and inspired by current Metal artists. There have been some cool crossover stories as well. Think Elvira meets Vincent Price.
So we took our love of "funny books" and thought up some cool crossovers featuring our fave Metal artists. How about Misfits/Scooby Doo, Gwar/XMen and Henry Rollins vs. Wolverine. The ideas are endless. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we lost another Punk legend and regret WrestleMania. Musically, we crank some Tyr, Thor, Trespass, Drop Dead, Witch Hazel, Victor Crowley and Personality Crisis. Horns Up!!
Regrets, we've had a few. The biggest regrets we've had with RAM is the passing of some legendary figures before we had the chance to sit down with them. We can only imagine what questions we would have picked their brains with.
So now we're doing the next best thing. We compiled a list of deceased artists and present a question we'd like to throw at them. Artists like Dee Dee Ramone, Chuck of Death and El Duce(!!). What question would you throw to your fave heavenly Headbanger.
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we hit the live front, found a copy of the original Marvel KISS comic and pay tribute to a local Punk legend. Musically, we crank some Necophagia, Attacker, Mentors, Pentagram, Dogs With Jobs, Scavenger, Fetid Grave, Cell and Mung. Horns Up!
Welcome to our second installment of our Deep Dive series on all the awesome albums celebrating their 40th anniversary i.e. from '84.
This week we're looking at Rush's "Grace Under Pressure". This was a divisive effort as the legendary trio shifted from 70s prog to a more 80s look and sound. This album didnt spend a lot of time on our turntables. So we enlisted the services of our resident Rush connoisseur Mark Buell. Mr. Buell plys his trade with Connect Humanity, an organization dedicated to bring the internet to communities facing that challenge. So we put our heads together to straighten out all the whys and wherefores of this amazing record.
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss "The Godfather" film and hail the return of "The Savage Sword of Conan" magazine. Musically, we crank some new + used from Razor, Vulture, Stretch Marks, Horndal, Convict (Can), Corpus Vile and Antichrist Siege Machine. And in our "Indie Spotlight" we spin long defunct Canadian punkers D.A.C. Horns Up!
Horns!! One of our special days is fast approaching! Record Store Day is a huge part of this show and our lives. The main idea behind RSD is to support your local record shop. To help getcher butts into the shops, every year there is a number of RSD exclusive releases for your listening pleasure. There is something for everyone but generally only a few titles for us. So as is annual tradition now, we hit up www.recordstoreday.com to help us decide what new records are turning our crank. Go to the website, find the list and "dig" with us. Which records are you grabbing? In our "News, Views and Tunes", we get drenched at Gwar and acknowledge "Thin Lizzy Day". Musically, we crank some Witchginder General, Ghoul, Jucifer, Derketa and Houwitzer. Horns Up!!
Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves. Verbally, we all have our own words and expressions. Metaldom is no exception. If anything we have more unique words in our verbal arsenal than Joe Average. Off the top of our heads, "Axe" (for guitar) comes to mind. So with that starting point, we dive into a laundry (all black, of course) list of slang descriptive words. How many of these do you use everyday? In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the numeral "777" and we caught the political protest performance artists Pussy Riot. Musically, we crank new + used from Atrophy, Omen, Hellion, Bloodcum, Iron Curtain, Brat and the aforementioned Pussy Riot. Horns Up!
You can literally count on one hand the years the mighty Slayer have been disbanded. Now an impending reunion for multiple festival dates have been announced. Needless to say, this has Metaldom all a buzz. And of course once the announcement was made, the interwebs was flooded with misinformation causing confusion. So this week we pick our way through the mirth. Is this too soon to be an official reunion? Is is something you'd pay big bucks to see in '24? And Horns to Mrs. Arraya for being so entertaining through all this. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss pro wrassler Sting's last match. Musically, we crank some new and used from Midnight, D.R.I., Minor Threat, Bitch, Forgotten Rebels, Sentry, Vexange and we introduce Moncton's Omnivide in our "Indie Spitlight". Horns Up!!
As we yacked about last episode, 1984 was an amazing year for Metaldom. A major part of that awesomeness was the incredible amount of new records that filled the new release racks. So with these albums celebrating their 40th anniversary, we decided to give some of them the deep dive treatment.
KISS' "Animalize" is an album near and dear to our Metal Hearts, for different reasons. So we go over the whys and wherefores, the tracklist, the artwork, the whole She-Bang. Give this album a refresher then give us a spin.
In our "News, Views and Tunes", we checked out the Captain Comics Expo and some cool vinyl docs. Musically, we crank some Blood Red Throne, Heavy Load, Critical Defiance, Decrowned, Blood Opera and introduce orginal hometown (Ottawa) bashers Hatred Reigns in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up!!
How does the time fly? 1984 was an incredible year for Metaldom. The new release racks were filled with albums that are not only all time classics now, but helped shape the Metal world as we know it today.
So this week we do a deep dive into that year that was. Apart from the amazing records, there were an obscene amount of mandatory outfits that formed. And there were news events that we still talk about today. Where's our logo sticker covered Delorian??!! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we attend the 40th (!!) anniversay Vader tour and make Terry Butler an honourary Winnipegger. Musically, we crank some Gwar, Repulsion, Uniform Choice, Black Flag, Living Death, C.O.C., Thrust, Piledriver, Messiah, Axewitch, Axekiller, Inhuman Condition, Sharptooth and Knoll. Horns Up!
It's that time again. The nominees for this year's Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame have been announced. This list always to seem raise both the eyebrows and ire of music fans. Its an ongoing debate whether The Hall should still be monickered "Rock n Roll" because of the inclusion of other genres. But every list has enough meat on the bone to warrant discussion. We dissect the list and make our top picks. *Spoiler* Ozzy is our Man. D'uh!! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss some Rush and Spider Punk! Musically, we crank some new + used from Hirax, the real Slaughter, Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome), Blade Runner, Night Fever, and we introduce Pessimystic in our "Indie Spotlight".
Horns Up!!
Bucket List moment! The '79 Ramones teen comedy "Rock n Roll High School" is an old fave of ours. We have it on DVD, various streaming platforms and have it practically memorized. But we never got to see it in the theatre...until now. Our local arthouse theater aired it is as part of their Cult Movie Night. So with the experience still fresh in our minds we decided to deep dive into the film. 2024 is also "RnRHS" 45 anniversary. We get into the cast, the highlights (and lowlights), the social commentary and life imitating art (and vice versa). Screw you, Togar! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we pay tribute to Wayne Kramer (RIP) and go over the Swift/NFL non issue. Musically, we crank some Marky Ramone and the Intruders, Conflict, The Ramonas, Ironflame, Digregorio and Enchanters. Horns Up!
The debut full lengther from the almighty Venom "Welcome To Hell" is one of the most influential underground albums ever. Not only in the Black Metal realm but thrash and NWOBHM as well. Its also the album that turned Snowy to Metal full time. We've often said "No Venom, No RAM".
Turns out though, Aaron wasn't familiar with this classic (!). So we decided to take a deep dive into this amazing album. Not only all the stand out tracks but the artwork and passages on the jacket as well. We enjoyed dissecting this record so much we decided to make this concept a semi regular. Stay tuned. Musically, we crank some Bathory, Holocaust, Full of Hell, Into Eternity, Savaged, Arkham, and Suburban Hypocrites.
Horns Up!
Sure streaming is ruling the roost when it comes to how music is consumed. But the vinyl album is slicing their piece of the pie more and more. Metalheads have always been more album oriented as opposed to just cherry picking a few tracks. And for good reason. There have been numerous albums over the years that are best served whole. Albums that are 100% bangers with no one reaching for the "Skip" button. So this week we go through a list of such classics. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss Joe Bonnamassa's axe collection and thumb through the new Fistful of Metal ish. Musically, we crank some new + used from Thunderstick, 7 Year Bitch, Spectral Voice and introduce Boston's Ravage in out "Indie Spotlight".
Horns Up!!
Whoo-Hoo!! It's time for our annual Rammy Awards! Kind of our take on the Grammys Awards (R.A.M...Gammy...Rammy. We're so clever). Basically, we give our picks of the past year in the categories that mean the most to Metalheads. Fave Band, Album, Song, Live Show a.o. As well, we make our inductions into The Radioactive Metal Hall Of Fame for Band, Album and what we cal the Myth And Legend. Give it a listen and compare your picks. Musically, we crank some Cirith Ungol, Destructor, Gutter Creek, Artificial Dissemination and Dogbite. Raise your chalice to 2023 and Horns Up to 2024!

New Year's Eve was pretty low key around the RAM offices. We had a night of PJs and popcorn. So we decided this year we would save the partying for you the listeners. We ditched our usual segments and broke out the Lemmys. As we "tipped the elbow", we discussed a variety of topics. Those included our new "Frankenstein" bass, our Christmas hauls, "The Iron Claw" flick, 80s soundtracks, and The Mouse going public domain. Musically, we crank some Master, Mortuary(Mex), The Pist, Rotten Sound, Deteriorot, Witchskull, Blasphemer, Offside, Unnamed Grave and Don't Drop The Sword. Horns Up and Happy Eve, you beautiful So-and-Sos!

As of this episode, the year is starting to wind down. But before you start rockin' in the New Year, now is a good time to discuss some of the events that made 2023 the year that was. Without stepping on the Rammy Award's steel toed boots, we figured we'd share the awesome albums that provided our personal soundtracks. We also pay tribute to some of our fallen comrades. We also get stoked for the outfits that reformed in '23 and are preparing new material for '24. To help us out we enlisted the expertise of good friend and co host of our sister podcast Wrestling Night in Canada, Mr. Dustin Maruca. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we do a deep dissection of the "Godzilla: Minus One" film. Musically, we crank cool tunes from Sortilege, Minor Threat, Wrathchild, GISM, Kruelty, Demoncy, and Afsky. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and all that rot.

The Messes Des Morts in Montreal is a Black Metal festival going on for a dozen years now. The attraction to the fest is the organizers ability to attract artists from across the pond that rarely makes appearances on North American stages. We had planned to be there for this year's instalment. Unfortunately, life had different plans. Fortunately, our good friend and co host of our sister podcast "Wrestling Night In Canada" Mr. "Ducky" Dustin Maruca made the trip. We picked his brain all about the fest. Namely the line up and highlights. And he shares a few cool stories making us wish we were there. As well, we have a quick chat about Black Metal in general. Musically, we crank some new and used from Blasphemy, Warlord, Kick Axe, Rigor Mortis, Urghal and Dodheimsgard! Horns Up!!

This past weekend was what's suppose to be the final on stage hurrah for the legendary KISS. The outfit has gone full circle from the New York club scene some 50 years ago to Madison Square f'n Garden. This historical moment was available to fans worldwide on Pay-Per-View. Sorta. Our service for the big event was both dodgy (Thx Barney) and non existent. So this week we compare debacles. We wanted the best. But well... In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the amazing Sound City doc, some news on the Canadian classic scene and how the police got the "Fuzz" name. Musically, we drank some new cool tunage from the all star band Savage Lands, Berzerker Legion and Axe Crazy! Horns Up!

We cannot stress how important the "WKRP In Cincinnati" (78-82) sitcom has had on this radio show. No "Dr" Johnny Fever = No Radioactive Metal. So this being the Thanksgiving season, we take inspiration from the (in)famous "Turkey Drop" episode. We thought "What If..." (Thx Marvel) the characters of WKRP were Metalheads? What would their fave artists be? Some may seem obvious. But others required our Metal logo thinking baseball cap. Our more mature listeners will really appreciate this one! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we share some gear talk and discuss our RSD: Black Friday haul.Musically, we crank some new + used from Exhumed, Power Trip, Bikini Kill, Diabolic Night, Embrace Your Punishment and Primordial Serpent. Horns Up!

Metal and Punk bands are no strangers to the whole acronym for their name thing. Instead of spelling out their multi word monicker, it's just easier to focus on the first letters. The ones that immediately come to mind are D.R.I. and C.O.C. But what about obscure names like J.F.A. and E-X-E? So we figured we'd put our own Aaron to the test. Just for shites' and giggles. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the Cavalera Bros re-recording the classic Sepultura "Morbid Visions" album. And Green Day playing the Grey Cup (Canada's Super Bowl) halftime show. Musically, we crank new and used from Fear, MDC, Destructor, Tyrant, E-X-E, Gutter Creek, Maul and we introduce New Halen CT's Entierro in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Legendary rockers WASP are always a great time. Either on the live front or their immense discography. Case in point - we had a fantastic time merely talking about their wicked cover of The Who's "The Real Me". So we figured we'd crank up the volume and dedicate an entire discussion segments to Blackie And The Boys. We share our fave songs, albums, live experiences and how we first discovered the controversial outfit. And of course, our own personal stories pertaining to the one of LA's finest. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the announced Pantera live date in our area and the infamous "WKRP" Turkey Drop segment. Musically, we crank new tunage from The Rods, KEN Mode, End Reign and Outergods. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Cover songs can be rather divisive amongst Metal fans. Some see it as a loving tribute. Others see it as a complete waste of time and effort. Around the RAM offices, we love a good cover song. Particularly a blast from the past being paid homage being paid by a current hotshot. But which is preferred? The original...or the cover. So we figured we'd go over our own laundry list and Yay or Nay on which version. Think QR/Slade. WASP/Who. Napalm Death/DKs. Musically, we crank new and used from Hirax, the aforementioned Napalm Death, Striker, Display Of Decay, Tailgunner, Deathblow and we introduced Mexico's Phantom in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns uP and Stay Healthy!

While we're not ready to give up the Halloween ghost just yet, we understand that the show must go on. Record Store Day: Black Friday is just around the corner. And RSD is always a huge deal around here. So if one is good than two must be better. So once again we go over the the RSD list of releases at www.recordstoreday.com and make our choices that we want to add to our collections. Pull up the list and check off your picks with us. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss our experience at the Winnipeg Comic Con and have some Godzilla talk. Musically, we crank some new + used from Cirith Ungol, Electro Hippies, Vitamin X, White Wizzard, Godthrymm, Devastator, and Vladmirs! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Conventions are always a great time. Be they the growing number of pop culture cons or the closer to home record and music cons. In our neck of the woods, the Winnipeg Comic Con is upon us. So we decided to share our experiences at the Manitoba Record and Music Con. Aside from an awesome haul, we have some cool stories to share. As well, we discuss cons in general, all the why and wherefores. If you've never taken one in - Run! Don't walk, to the one nearest you. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we took in our first (!) GBH gig!! Musically, we crank some Sacrifice, Aggression, the aforementioned GBH, Witchfynde, Profanatica, Helm's Deep, Roach Motel, Scarred For Life, and we introduce Industrial metallers Trick Casket inner "Indie Spotlight". We test our Horror metal at www.filmposters.com As well, we rank the Friday The 13th instalments. And finally, we enjoy the headaches Taylor and the Swifties are giving republicans. The Ozzman Cometh?? Mr. Ozzy Osbourne's recent announcement of wanting to do another album and tour has Metaldom all abuzz. But a front person is only as good as the band behind them. Over his illustrious career, Ozzy has surrounded himself with some amazing musicians. Most went on to have legendary carriers themselves. So we figured this week we'd apply the 'Top 5' treatment to those awesome artists. Yeah we chose some obvious (looking at you, Randy) but some other choices will raise your eyebrows. Check it out! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we check out the Halloween Horror Nights in F.L.A and go ga-ga over the Prime series "Daisy Jones & The Six". At a bazillion years old the Rolling Stones just released a new record. There's a whole new industry of "classic" rock bands still touring with more gray hair than hair spray. And Crue vox Vince Neil has been under fire for sub-par performances for years now. All this begs the question - When should an artist hang it up? Should there be an age limit? Or is it a health issue, positive or negative. How about when a band member no longer enjoys playing with their bandmates? We leave no stone unturned. In our "News, Views and Tunes", Aaron casts his vote for the MLMAs. And we reminisce about old school compilations and when Dee Snider kicked ass at the PMRC hearings. Musically, we crank tunes from Dead Kennedys, MDC, Razor, D.R.I., Blackbaird, Belvedere, Attacker and we introduce Winnipeg hardcore bashers Pink Snot in our "Indie Spotlight". Remember to vote for Snowy for Ambassador of the Year at the MLMAs at www.loudawards.com. Thx!

So for the month leading up to the 31st we like to assault our senses with the appropriate stimuli. So before Oct. 1st hits we decided it would be an awesome time to give our recommends for movies, music and comic books. We share some standards but we do a deep dive into some cool stuff. Musically, we crank some awesome tunage from Deceased, Denner's Inferno, Uada, Cloak, Exorcist ('86) and Violent Life Violent Death. Horns Up and Stay Healthy! A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) seems to be all the rage right now. Love it or hate it, it seems to have invaded the entertainment world, music being no exception. We do a deep dive into this phenom, with all the techno mumbo jumbo. Who knew back then that the science fiction from The Jetsons would become science reality. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss our recent trip to Texas (No, we didn't go blind). As well, we're once again up for a Manitoba Loud Music Award. Cast your vote at www.loudawards.com (Ambassador of the Year). Couple episodes back we discussed the various unique places we've attended a gig. Now we can add "movie theatre" to that list. This past weekend the two Arlington, TX dates from the Metallica M72 tour were simulcast to theatres the world over. We both caught the Sunday show. And decided to go the event with a fine studded wristband. We go over the setlist, our theatre experiences and veer off to places unexpected. In all, a fantastic conversation! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we struggle talking about the recent Batushka gig. Musically, we crank some Onslaught, Whiplash, Dag Nasty, the aforementioned Batushka, Inepsy, Disciples Of Power, Phantom Lord and we introduce black n rollers Hellfynder in our "Indie Spotlight". After our self imposed hiatus, we're back and ready to rock! But we weren't sitting back and sipping drinks on the beach. We took in some gigs. And hit the theatres and record shops. Oh, and Metallica's debut "Kill 'em All" hit the racks. Not only is "Kill..." one of the most influential albums but its also an old fave of ours. So we decided it would be a great time to dissect this album that helped shape our Metalness. We go over how/when we discovered it, our fave tracks and share some personal stories. Happy Bday, Old Friend!! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we finally caught the '87 "Trick Or Treat" in the theatre. And we took out a subscription to Thunderflixx. Musically, we crank new and used from Blitzkrieg, Hallow's Eve, Septic Death, Ripcordz, Mortal Sin, Cruelty, Wreck-Defy, Stabbing and introduce Winnipeg death metallers Inhumed and Regina punkers Bats Out in our Indie Spotlight! Horns Up! Episode 750! Another milestone! We've all heard the expression "Classic Rock". We have a fair idea what makes up said music. But can we put a fine pointed horn on it? Is it simply a generational thing? Or do subgenres play into it? And what this "Dad Rock" business? Does it exist? And what are the who's, whats, wheres and whens behind it? It all makes for an interesting (to say the least) conversation. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss record shopping in a brewery (??). Musically, we crank some new and used from Exhumed, Heavy Load, Black Lace, Death Ray Vision, Black Knife, Horrified, Tailgunner and we introduce Red Deer's Hooker Spit in our "Indie Spotlight". If there was a penalty for exceeding a maximum amount of live gigs, we'd be doing hard time. We learned the good way that a gig can be enjoyed beyond the usual venues. Over the years we taken in shows in parking lots, sidewalks, parade floats a.o. That's not even counting the myriad of basement shows. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we reminisce about the "Airheads" flick. Musically, we crank new and used from Vendetta, Marduk, MainEEaxe, Attitude Adjustment, Escuela Grind, Artificial Dissemination and Battle Born! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

As with most genres, the vocalist and axeman seem to be the ones that seem to garner the most attention and accolades. It's the rhythm section that stirs the Metallic drink though. And drummers are the unsung heroes of our beloved genre. So taking a cue from the awesome "High Infidelity" flick, we present our "Top 5" of our favourite skinbeaters. We look at not only technical skill and reputation but influence and impact as well. All making for an interesting list. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we took in the original "Evil Dead" film at the theatre (!) and discuss Aunt Jemima's "box"(??). Musically, we crank new and used from Massacre, Sacrifice, Dead Kennedys, Cryptic Slaughter, Subhumans (UK), Pupil Slicer, Sadistic Vision, Night Legion and we introduce P.E.I.'s Baited in our "Indie Spotlight".

We all love our Heavy Metal. But Metalheads are nothing if not diverse, with a wide variety of interests outside of our album collections. The creators of our beloved genre are no different. Some artists have excelled in their chosen hobbies. This week we discuss which artists and activities we'd love to join in their endeavours. How 'bout "football" with Steve Harris. Golfing with Alice Cooper. Or skating with Pushead himself. The possibilities are endless. And some may just be feasible. Musically, we crank some new and used from Nasty Savage, Deranged, Cloak, Culted, Nocturnal Departure, Rotten U.K., Gamerra and introduce Finnish rockers Magick Touch in this weeks "Indie Spotlight". Ready to feel old? Remember the early 90s? Well, as of this year, 1993 is 30 effin' years old! Wow! Times flies when you're rocking and rolling. So we figured we'd do a deep dive into three decades ago and discover it wasn't all Seattle, flannel and "hard alternative". The year had a number of amazing albums, band debuts and news stories that rocked Metaldom. Musically, we have a stack of wax from Nile, Mayhem, Propaghandi, Cancer, Reagan Youth, 1349, Bestial Warlust, Electric Wizard and Funeral Mist. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

We're all too familiar with "that person". That individual who insists they "know it all" regardless of the topic at hand. As Metalheads it's particularly irritating when these posers try horning in on beloved genre. But's there's always a way to trip them up. Heavy Metal is ripe with trivia that is common knowledge to us but would expose any claims-to-be. Namely, a Sabbath vocalist not named Dio or Ozzy. Or Kirk Hammett's pre Metallica band. You get the idea. In our "News, Views and Tunes" we celebrate "Ghostbuster's Day", discuss "Flesh Gordon" (!!) and fanboy out for Spider Punk. Musically, we crank new + used from Dan Lorenzo (ex-Hades), 7 Seconds, Glass Casket, Lord Vigo, Elder Devil, Thantifaxath, and introduce Texas grinders Molly Ringworm (!!!) in our "Indie Spotlight". As a follower of Heavy Metal, how many times have you heard from a non-believer "It all sounds the same to me." Our response - "You must be tone deaf considering the amount of sub genres that makes up our beloved music." But are there to many? And is it a positive or a negative? This week we dive right into it and sort it all out. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss parenting and book banning and all our activity on the live front. Musically, we crank new and used from Tygers Of Pan Tang, Black Dahlia Murder, Terror, Pantychrist, Fuming Mouth and we introduce Winnipeg glam/punk/trash/popsters The Castagne's. This episode is a Good News/ Bad News situation. The Good News - The "Muppet Mayhem" TV series is up on Disney+. Being veteran Gen Xers, we'll always have a soft spot in our Metal Hearts for The Muppet Show. Dr. Teeth And The Electric Mayhem were the house band for said show. And this show sees our fave band of Muppets trying to cut their long overdue debut. We tore thru the show with the eagerness of a 10 yr. old and give our 2 cents. Now The Bad News - We lost one of the all time greats in Tank's Algy Ward. Tank's influence on Metaldom cannot be disputed. So we took a few moments to say "Horns Up!" Crank some Tank tonight! Musically, we spin some of the aforementioned Tank (and the Evo/Algy project), The Rods, Random Killing, Mother Fvckers, World Eater and we introduce Vancouver metallers Medevil in our "Indie Spotlight". The month of May kicks ass! The first couple weeks has a couple kick ass events that caters to the geek in us. Sure we're a Heavy Metal radio show but we don't shy away from discussing some of our there interests. Mat The Fourth is a special day dedicated to all things Star Wars and for fans to celebrate their fandom. Just a few days later was Free Comic Book Day. This special day is the equivalent of Record Store Day. So we share our adventures and the special titles we picked up. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we say "See ya" to MTV News. Musically, we crank some new and used from Vomitory, Hellwitch, Nuclear Death, Blood Of The Sun and Wacken Metal Battle Canada winner Strigampire! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Guitar extraordinaire Nuno Bettancourt recently made headlines. He simply shared that none other than Prince himself once called him one of the Top 3 GOATs to ever bend the six strings. So we thought we'd one up His Highness and take a cue from Jon Kuzak from the awesome "High Fidelity" flick and share our Top 5 picks in both Metal and Rock categories. An interesting chat that you'd be surprised by some of our choices. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss this weekend's Comic Book Day and have an impromptu talk about the Friday The 13th franchise. Musically, we crank some wicked tunes from Knoll, Wytch Hazel, Solanum, Gel and Necrotic Ritual. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

The #1 topic in all of Metaldom is the new Metallica album. "72 Seasons" dropped late last week. And just like the last umpteenth albums from Lars and the Boys, the album has proven to be very divisive. But regardless of where you plant your flag with Camp Metallica, they always make for great conversation. This time out, we both lucked out and our local record shops had album listening parties and we bought the vinyl at the stroke of midnight. So we give the album the once over and rank the album amongst the rest of their vast catalog. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we hit the movie theatres and celebrate Halloween In April (!!). Musically, we crank new and used from Kruelty, Air Raid, Dryad, (80s) Witch and introduce Necronomicon ExMortis (just in time for the new "Evil Dead" flick) in our "Indie Spotlight". There was metric ton of stuff going down in Metaldom this week. So we couldn't narrow it down to just one topic. This time 'round we get into the Bud Light/Kid Rock debacle, the Motley Crue/ Mick Mars legal mumbo jumbo, the "This is Hardcore" fest line up and, most importantly, we put the word out for a friend in need. In our "News, Views and Tunes', we share war stories from the live front and a new(!) K-Tel (!!) vinyl album. Musically, we crank some new and used from Smoulder, Gorilla Biscuits, Day Glo Abortions, Aftermath, Satans Host, Prowl and Majesties. Horns up and Stay Healthy!

There was really only one issue this to discuss this week. The tragedy at the Morbid Angel gig in Illinois is taking up the most space in the hearts and minds of the citizens of Metaldom. So this week we decided to simply pay tribute to our fallen comrade. Be sure to go to gofundme.com and do your part in helping the loved ones of Fred Livingston Jr. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we take in some Death Match wrasslin and crank some new and used from Destructor, Daath, Micawber, Hexx, Sabbatory, Thunderspell, Damage Control and introduce Kilmore in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

RAM is no stranger to the idea of the "house show". We've littered our "Metal Fix" with our experiences. But for the uninitiated, a house show is just as it sounds. A gig in someone's house, generally the basement, as opposed to a club or small hall. And they're always a lot of fun! We have another one coming up (on 4/20 even!!) So we figured it would be a great time to share some of our ideas of putting on house shows in some more public and pop culture houses and buildings. Think the Amityville Horror house. The White House. The Ghostbusters firehouse. And 1428 Elm Street! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss our awesome Friday night! Musically, we crank some new and used from Hellripper, Rotten Sound, Bootlicker, Virtue, Inferion, Direct Action, Texas Toast Chainsaw Massacre and introduce Arkansas' Mortals in our "Indie Spotlight". It's an old story we've all heard before. The legendary KISS have announced (again) that they're packing up their make up kit and going home. Whatever you believe, Gene and The Boys have announced the final (?) 50 dates on the "End of the Road" tour finishing up in the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden. So with that we do a deep dive into these historic final gigs. We compare tix prices, which venues we'd love to see our last KISS show and the German "controversy" over the logo SSs. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we do a bit of Gear Talk and reintroduce ourselves to Count Floyd!! Musically, we crank some new and used from Sortilege, Parasite(84), The Donnas, Spectral Wound, Heavens Gate, Reckless(Can), Category VI and introduce trad metallers Reckless in our "Indie Spotlight". As is tradition now, we go over the list of special RSD releases and decide which records will be ours. So go to recordstoreday.com, click the list and join us. Which records are you looking forward too? Musically, we crank RSD tunes and some new + used from Agnostic Front, G.B.H., Savage Grace, Despised Icon, Undeath, Gatekeeper, Zombified and we introduce Abaddonia in this week's "Indie Spotlight". The Grammys are in our rearview mirror. Here in the Great White North, that means it's time for the Canadian equivalent, The Junos. Of course, the only category that means anything to Metalheads is the "Hard Rock/Metal Album". And as is tradition around here, it's time to play the newly christened "Head or Heart" game. A segment where we share who we'd like to see win. As well, we pick who we think will win. So with Aaron on a short sabbatical, we've enlisted the help of Snowy's "Wrestling Night In Canada" co-hosts Matt Copper and Dustin Maruca. And the winner is... In our "News, Views and Tunes", we give our 2 cents on Ozzy's recent Grammy wins. Musically we crank new tunage from Phobia, Wake, Get The Shot, Kruller and Horrible Earth. "Support The Scene!" isn't just an old adage or a tired cliche'. Local Metal/Punk scenes aren't just a source of weekend entertainment. The "scene" is an important breeding ground for young talent to get their chops in before moving on to bigger ("better" will always be subjective). And it's a great source of weekend entertainment. But the scene needs to thrive to survive. So we all need to do our part. So this week we have a laundry list of Dos and Don'ts everyone should employ for the betterment of the scene. Some are obvious, some are a little more outside the box. But all are important. In our "News, Views and Tunes', we mark out over the new Wednesday series. Musically, we crank bunch of new tunage from Siege Of Power, All Out War, Dead Quiet, Phantom Spell, Carnal Savagery, Take It In The Blood, Phantom Killing and introduce Thunder Bay's(!) There was a whole buncha (yes, that's an official unit of measurement) stuff going on in Metaldom this week. So much we couldn't narrow it down to one specific topic for our discussion segment. So we just thru caution to the wind and layed it all out. We go into "Pantera" being dropped in Germany, a frivolous Marilyn Manson-related lawsuit and Pink Floyd goes "woke". But most importantly, we announce some cool upcoming tours. And the whys and wherefores behind them. 2023 is gonna be lit!! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we dive into the new "That 90s Shows" and hit the comic shops. As well, we have our inductees into the Radioactive Metal Hall Of Fame. So now pour a Lemmy and help us celebrate all that was in 2022! Goodbye 2022! Hails and Horns to 2023! This new year marks the 40th (!!) anniversary of the year 1983. It was a pivotal year for our beloved genre. There were some major band formations of some of our most renowned outfits. As well, we saw some key album releases that would go to become Metal classics. So we're ringing in '23 by doing a deep dive into '83. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we hit up our first show of the year (a house show, no less). Musically, we crank some new and used from Witchery, Manilla Road, Abysmal Lord, Warrant (Ger.), S.O.B., Malhavoc, Hellion, Shining Wizard and Mother Of Graves! We ended '22 with some absolutely gut wrenching news. We lost documentarian, journalist and all around great guy, Bob Nalbandian. Bob's credentials are vast. He's worked with renowned record labels and wrote for promininent magazines. Most importantly, he was a friend. RAM was on the ground floor in podcasting. As was his "Shockwaves" program. So of course we became fast friends. So this time 'round we forsake most of our segments and just talk Bob. We go over his "Inside Metal" doc series, his old school "Headbanger" 'zine and all our interactions with him. Musically, we have a Fistful of Bob approved Metal including Blind Illusion, Laaz Rockitt, Hirax, Abattoir, Savage Grace, Omen, Cloven Hoof, Witchfynde and Hell Witch. Rest In Power, Bob! We love the innovation and creativity that Metaldom never gets from Joe and Jane Average. One such examples is the new Motorhead "Bad Magic" box set. This new take on Lemmy and The Boy's final full lengther has all kinds of cool goodies. A new track, a live show and an interview with Lemmy himself. But the topper is a ouija board (!) with an "Ace Of Spades" planchette. With the idea of using it to contact Lemmy himself! So it gave us the idea of who else we'd like to contact from beyond the Metal grave. And what we'd like to ask them. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss "Big Bulbs" (?), the upcoming GG Allin biopic and "Gremlins 2" (??) Musically, we crank some new and used from Bathory, Bloodclot, Master, Embalm, Lacerated, Jennie Tebler's Out Of Oblivion and introduce Sithlord in our "Indie Spotlight". Recently we lost one of the all time greats in Dead Kennedys drummer D.H. Peligro. This loss was particularly tough as our DK fandom goes back to the band's glory years while we are still in high school. We discovered Jello and the boys along with RAM alum Mark Buell. Mr. Buell is one of the minds behind Connect Humanity, an organization dedicated to bringing the internet to isolated Indigenous areas. And an original Gen X punk rocker. Mark joined us for the episode commemorating the late, great Neil Peart (Rush). But the next time we have him on it will be under better circumstances. We discussed all things DKs. Heavy Metal has always had a strong connection and relationship to the wonderful world of Horror. The #1 topic of discussion amongst Horror conisseurs is the new "Hellraiser" adaptation on Hulu. It's already proving to be a divisive little flick. But what is certain is the impact that the Hellraiser franchise has had on the Metal world. The third installment "Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth" produced not one but two versions of the theme song by two of the biggest names in our genre. So in honour of the new flick, we sat down with both the Motorhead and Ozzy versions in a "watch along" to compare and pick a fave. We had a jam packed week! Jammed enough that we felt it was best to just dedicate the bulk of the show to basically being one big "Metal Fix". More importantly though, we lost one of the all time greats in The Exalted Piledriver. We were huge Piley fans from the get-go and late in his life considered him a friend. So we pay tribute to this great man and crank some key tracks. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we were super busy on the live front, took in the Rolling Stones "Unzipped" exhibit and gave adam levine a big FU! Musically, we crank new and used from the aforementioned Piledriver, D.R.I., KEN Mode, Zombi, Imperial Triumphant, Metalucifer, Vile Creature and Dogs With Jobs! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!!

The #1 topic on the lips and minds of Metalheads right now is the new Megadeth album. The majority of the sentiment so far seems to be positive. A return to the glorious 80s Megadeth sound and swagger. So after giving "The Sick, The Dying...And The Dead" a few spins, we made our selves ready to give our thoughts. Our verdict...Sorry, no spoilers. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we crank some new and used from Manilla Road, Jag Panzer, Dead Kennedys, Driller Killer, Sonja, Skeletor, Cobra The Impaler and introduce Hell Diablo in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

The mighty Begrime Exemious are back!! With an awesome new Dark Descent Records album "Rotting In The Aftermath" fresh on the racks, the Canadian deathsters hit the road. No strangers to this show, axe/vox Derek Orthner was cool to sit down with us and give us all the Begrimey details. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss catching the classic "Jaws" in the theatre. In 3D, no less! And we have one helluva "Metal Fix"!! Musically, we crank the new BE and some new + used from Holy Terror, Artificial Brain, Haxan, Berator, Grave Bathers, Brutal Youth, Epoch Of Unlight and feature death metallers Deformatory in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

As fans of our beloved genre, we have certain special moments. Musical milestones, if you will. Our first album, first gig, first pit, the first time you saw a young lady flash her...well, you get the drift. This week we go over what we consider these special moments, sharing our experiences on the way. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we decide if Snowy's KISS Kollection makes the kut and we created our own Halloween beverage. Musically, we crank new and used from Exhumed, Mortuous, SS Decontrol, Crossfire, Shed The Skin, Power From Hell and Greber. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

As musical connoisseurs, the live front is where we're most at home. Live shows or concerts have some traditional moments that get us pumped and raise the hair on our necks. Right before we wreck them. There's a reason the audience erupts once the lights go down, for example. So we go a list of moments that make the concert experience so momentous. As well, we learn that we are nominated for "Ambassador Of The Year" in the Manitoba Loud Music Awards. So we felt it was appropriate to give a few moments to MLMA committee member Denny Ferguson to give us all the whys and wherefore behind these awards. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we're stoked for the return of CREEM magazine and have a bit of 80s sitcom talk. Musically, we crank some new and used from Revocation, Besieged, Overdrive (Swe), Conflict (UK), Bewitched, Solanum and Slugcrust. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

When it comes to the live front, music of the tried and true has been outdrawing the new stuff for quite awhile now. But now "Classic" tunage has recently overtaken the new stuff at the sales counter too. So this week we do a deep dive investigation into the whys and wherefores and try to figure it all out. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we dissect a rather polarizing Alice Cooper quote and some crank tunage from Sigh, Bat, Critical Defiance, Mvll Crimes and introduce Lethbridge (!!) trad metallers Tyrants Of Chaos in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

"Time flies when you're having fun." That's an old adage we learned as young 'uns. But it gets more and more trve once you get to our age. A lot of key albums, band formations and significant events happened literally decades ago now. But honestly a lot of these seem like they happened just "a few years ago" now. Namely, the first minus Ozzy/Dio Sabbath album dropped 39 years ago. And the last new (material) from Razor came out 25 (!) years ago! Whew! Is that a gray hair??!! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we define "mandatory" with Metal and crank new and used from Grave Digger, Bloodfeast, Harlequin, Cirith Ungol, Resistance, and Volcano! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!!

Who says Heavy Metal isn't educational??!! Yes, the lyrical content has delved into social and political issues over the years. But they've also had us listeners reaching for the dictionary and introduced a number of phrases and expressions. So this time 'round we share a (very condensed) list of said words and expressions that first came to our attention thru the Power of Metal! We're so "stoked"! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we hit the live front and crank new and used from Toxik, Bell Witch, (Scars Of) Atrophy and Hatriot. Halloween comes early as we introduced Montreal's The Occult in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!!
