In this episode, I sit down with Nathaniel to explore his fascinating work and groundbreaking theories on paranormal phenomena. Nathaniel introduces the concept of Necronetics, a framework that connects possession, pregnancy, and otherworldly encounters as processes that replicate life forms. We dive into the evolution of certain beings and phenomena, discussing how they often manifest in archetypal forms that mirror humanity’s collective consciousness. The first 15 minutes or so of this show were lost to the Streaming Gods so we join mid the conversation. Our conversation takes us into deep and, at times, unsettling territory, touching on the nature of gods, religion, and the ways these ideas shape our understanding of spiritual and supernatural encounters. Nathaniel shares the challenges he’s faced during his research, from the potential dangers of diving too deep into these mysteries to deciding how and where to share his findings with the world. We also draw intriguing connections between his work and Whitley Strieber’s studies on interactions with the dead, exploring what these encounters might reveal about consciousness and the unseen. Nathaniel gives us a glimpse into his upcoming book, Skin That Crawls, which will serve as an introduction to necronetics and lay the groundwork for further exploration of his theories. As his research evolves, this conversation offers a compelling look at the mysterious links between life, death, and the forces that exist beyond our understanding. In the Plus show we get deeper still into these topics really delving into the shadowlands of this subject matter. I strongly advise you to do so as this maybe the last time we have Nathaniel on the show as he maybe ending his research into this area because it has become so intense and the phenomena has been pushing back on him. In this episode of Spirit Box, I spoke with Vic Hyland, musician, teacher, and author, about creativity, NLP, and music’s connection to magic. We delve into Vic's book 'Music Magic and NLP' wherein Vic shared his insights into the "cut-up" technique—a method popularised by David Bowie and William S. Burroughs—that involves rearranging words and phrases to unlock creative flow. This approach, Vic explains, extends beyond music and can spark ideas in all kinds of fields by tapping into the subconscious and reshaping our perceptions. We also discussed "sliding door moments," those pivotal life junctures where a single event can change everything, often guided by a mix of art, intention, and subconscious forces. Vic shared examples from music, showing how songs and symbols sometimes act as "hyper sigils"—shaping reality in unexpected ways. This led us to explore creativity’s link to manifestation and consciousness. While I’m somewhat skeptical about manifesting through thoughts alone, Vic and I agreed on the importance of engaging the subconscious meaningfully. He emphasized that true creativity requires shifting between “gears” of consciousness, balancing conscious effort with subconscious flow. In the Plus show, we delved into the deeper purpose of creativity, beyond entertainment or self-expression. For both of us, art, music, and storytelling aren’t just about creating; they’re about transforming consciousness, connecting people, and deepening our understanding of the world. Vic illustrated this beautifully, noting that creativity was once about gathering together, changing perspectives, and tapping into something magical that logic alone can't touch. In a world increasingly skeptical of the mystical, it was refreshing to reflect on the power of art to reconnect us with wonder and a sense of the unseen.

Welcome to Spirit Box! In this episode, we’re joined by Dr. Lenni George and Dr. Nat Clegg, founders of the House of Zophiel. Based in Turin, Lenni and Nat organize and run magical and esoteric-themed events for the curious and the seeker alike. Nat shares his thoughts on using creativity as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious, and explores the difference between Art and Creativity. Lenni focuses on “green work” in gardens to access magic and healing, and we'll also discuss her Moon Garden, dedicated to the Goddess Hekate.
Turin itself is a city steeped in magical history, known as one of the vertices of both the black and white magic triangles in Europe. It's said to be a crossroads of spiritual energy, with links to both divine light and occult darkness. The city’s esoteric traditions stretch back centuries, making it a key location for those interested in the occult. We’ll explore how these magical forces influence the work of the House of Zophiel and the city’s lasting mystical legacy.
Additionally, in the Plus show, we’ll dive into their psychic questing in the UK and beyond, exploring healing places and landscapes where tragedies have occurred—and much more.

Rose Auroras is a sorceress and seer, specialising in Faery & Elf-related issues and spiritual needs. She is part of a spiritual lineage of Celtic origin, but also trained in other spiritual traditions including Trolldom and Hoodoo/Conjure. Many people encounter issues or have spiritual needs related to the Good People (faeries) or the Alfar (Elves). Some may experience Faery-related activity, whether positive or negative, without understanding the reasons behind it, yet they wish to know why. Additionally, there are those courageous individuals who seek to establish a working relationship with the Fair Folk or the Alfar but are uncertain about how to do so safely. Addressing any of these Faery-related needs, and more, is Rose's area of expertise. In the Plus show we get into hybridism, how these entities can manifest. Today we are joined by author and publisher Mark Nemglan to discuss his new title from Scarlet Imprint, Avalon Working. Avalon Working is equal parts grimoire and devotional, gazeteer and visionary journey. The work passionately argues for Glastonbury as centre of emergence and initiation, a latter-day Eleusis. Through essay and ritual, the author invites readers to actively participate in the Holy Island’s unfolding destiny, in partnership with its spirits and powers, to co-create its mythopoeia and, in doing so, forge a new Avalonian covenant. In the Plus show Mark goes into detail regarding the rituals and spirits associated with Glastonbury and the strange encounters people have had on the Tor and Mark shares with us his own incredible experience. Today, we welcome astrologer Elsa, who has been exploring the astrology of people who have had Dark Man experiences. A few months ago, Elsa asked the community on the Spirit Box Discord for volunteers to have their astrological charts analyzed to see if any patterns could be identified. The work surfaced some very interesting results.
Elsa starts the show by explaining how charts break down for the first 12 minutes, so if you're already well-versed in that area, you may want to skip ahead. We delve into some of the evidence in my chart and discuss the parallels and contradictions in the charts of others (no volunteers were harmed in this process). To further this exploration, Elsa reviewed the charts of actors and artists who could be said to have Dark Man-related themes in their work.
Its absolutely fascinating and a similar exploration to the one I undertook in Irish mythology and folklore.
In the Plus show we get into Keanu Reeves chart and delve into the themes of John Wick as angel of death and Billy Bob Thornton as Lorne Malvo the 'devilish' assassin of TV show Fargo. We get into this type of research leads you to the process of shadow work. To close Elsa takes us through their investigation into the chart of famous psychic Eileen J Garrett and her book 'Call me Lucifer'. Its interesting stuff and you will be checking your chart...
Now there are a number of stars we discuss in this piece including Aldebaran, Antares and Deneb Algedi to name a few. The recommendation is to check out Sasha Ravitch's work or to give Elsa a shout if you are on the Spirit Box Discord.
Enjoy!

Today we welcome Phil Hine back to the show to discuss his new book; Wheels within wheels.
Phil has been a practising Occultist for over forty-five years, with a career spanning Wicca, Ritual Magic, Chaos Magic and nondual Tantra. Together with Rodney Orpheus he co-created and edited the UK’s first monthly Pagan magazine, Pagan News (1988-92).
His books include: Condensed Chaos, Prime Chaos, The Pseudonomicon, Hine’s Varieties: Chaos & Beyond, Acts of Magical Resistance and Queerying Occultures. In 2019 he founded Twisted Trunk, a small press specializing in publishing translations of rare Tantric texts.”
Wheels within Wheels examines the passage of chakras into Western Esotericism. Beginning with an overview of how chakras were conceptualized in early tantric traditions, Phil Hine traces how chakras captured the imagination of both Indian and European Theosophists in the late 19th century. He explores their appearance in the early Western Esoteric imagination, from the Christian mysticism of James M. Pryse to the practical exercises of Aleister Crowley. He examines the influence of Sir John Woodroffe’s The Serpent Power and the writings of Charles Webster Leadbeater, and how chakras were psychologized in the work of Jung, to their role in contemporary therapy culture.

Teila Verch Dywenys is a traditional witch and founder of The Cleaner Clootie Campaign, set up in 2018 in response to the growing proliferation of plastic objects left as offerings at her nearest Henge at Knowlton Grange in Dorset. Witnessing first hand how this trend has proliferated widely outside the Pagan Community (fuelled by social media and a disconnection from the original practice of clootie hanging) her aim is to realign the ancient tradition once more within its environmentally reverent origins by educating and by example ~ through the physical clearing of clootie impacted sites and by offering practical sustainable alternatives to plastic or permanent clooties.
Teila takes us through her extraordinary experiences with the fae on the land where she lives and her work with the Dark Man and Dark Mother.

Beginning in her early childhood, the world-famous trance medium and grande dame of parapsychology Eileen J. Garrett had numerous encounters with an entity she called the "Noble Stranger." When she asked his identity one day, this mysterious figure responded, "You may call me Lucifer."
Call me Lucifer: Dialogues with a Noble Stranger, features Garrett's writings about her encounters with this Noble Stranger, and reflections on her intellectual "duels with her Devil." The book includes extensive verbatim transcripts of Lucifer's communication with Garrett, together with Lucifer's Compendium of Guidance.
Though prepared with great care over the course of her life, the book has lain dormant in Garrett's family archives for decades. Her granddaughter, Lisette Coly, current President of the Parapsychology Foundation, has now decided that it should be shared with the public as an aid to our spiritual evolution.
Eileen J. Garrett (1893-1970) was an Irish medium and one of the most important figures in parapsychology. Despite her apparent psychic abilities, which were subjected to numerous tests by the most prominent researchers of the era.
Garrett maintained a lifelong healthy skepticism, always questioning the nature and meaning of her own extraordinary experiences. Her dedication to the objective, scientific study of psychical phenomena resulted in her establishing the Parapsychology Foundation, which published many books on the subject as well as the International Journal of Parapsychology, and the popular Tomorrow magazine.
Garrett was also something of a bon vivant, rubbing shoulders with everyone from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to Cecil B. DeMille, Aldous Huxley, Salvador Dalí, Robert Graves, Anaïs Nin, and Carl Jung to name but a few. Garrett herself was a prolific author, writing a number of novels as well as books on psychical research and three autobiographies

Hailing from Carlow, Ireland, David Halpin is a writer with a deep knowledge of Ireland’s fairy lore and pagan heritage. On his facebook blog, Circle Stories, he explores these themes in great depth. David is also the creative force behind Occult Book Review on Twitter and YouTube.
What I really love about David’s work is he is an active participant in preserving the lore and mythology of Ireland. He goes out and sees the stones and raths and teases their stories from them. Which provides us with a vital link to our past.
In the show David talks how fairy spirits of alleged different forms can manifest in the same ways. He gives his thoughts on the parallels with UFOs and we get into the differences and similarities between cities and rural places with fairies and go down a bit of a rabbit hole after the Pooka.
In the plus show we get into the dangers of summoning the Good People and David regals us with a story of brushing up against the strange while on a trip to a remote stone circle. We also discuss fairy ointments and from there discuss the use of psychedelics in Irish mythology and folk practice and go off on interesting tangents on the Djinn, Our Lady of Fátima and consciousness.

Nathaniel Gillis, an author and religious demonologist, with over two decades work under his belt following his experience in a haunted house. He has actively redefined the understanding of haunting phenomena, ghosts, and high strangeness and is frequently cited for his unique perspective on the demonic, emphasizing "The reason they are playing by different rules is because they are playing a different game,".
Nathaniel brings a unique twist to his exploration of the Devil, demons, and unclean spirits. In his research, he suggests a potential connection between these supernatural entities and aliens. This unconventional perspective that expands the boundaries of traditional demonology and explores the intersections between different realms of the paranormal.
Nathaniel posits the notion that demons engage in a form of self-replication through a process involving hybridism. According to this concept, these supernatural entities are believed to create hybrid beings through interactions with humans, which are often depicted as seductive demons. This unconventional theory suggests a link between the demonic realm and the potential for a unique form of reproduction, involving the creation of hybrid entities that share characteristics from both demonic and human origins. It is a speculative and imaginative interpretation within certain mythological and paranormal narratives.
In the plus show we get into what these spirits might want? We get into some deep stuff on hybridism and how this self-replication happens. To quote Nathaniel, possession to us is pregnancy to them. To close out Nathaniel goes into some of the cases he’s investigated.

Rejoice! The legendary Aidan Wachter is back on SB! Aidan is a magician and the author of three books, Six Ways, Weaving Fate and Changeling. This show is called ‘it’s solved buy walking after a phrase Aidan used in our conversation. We discuss the impact nature can have on us as we’re working through the often challenging landscape of our lives. We discuss how our engagement and immersion into the landscape of our environment can nourish and bring healing to our internal world. And actually just how simple that process can be.
We get into ones allies guiding writing, how it can be a collaborative process. What it’s like to write three very successful books.
In the plus show we discuss what it's like to be a vehicle for the current. The field as an organism and as magical practitioners we have a function. We also go through how it's unlikely one will remain the same as ‘you once were’ if you develop a magical life and how that change will not always be pretty. It rarely is. We also go into how there is a sense that similar is happening on an international level and how to navigate things when confronted with difficult and the downright awful. It’s good stuff.

For episode 28 of season 2 we welcome back the noble and scholarly Douglas Batchelor of the What Magic is This? A podcast for those curious about Magic, the Occult, Witchcraft, the Esoteric, the Paranormal and the Supernatural. Douglas has been doing sorcery and magic for close to 20 years. And has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Today we focus on how his practice and areas of interest have changed since his recent move to the west coast of Canada. And we discuss his recent patreon show on Isobel Gowdie, his remarkable memory and his ability to communicate complex ideas. The title for this show is a reference to a phrase used by John Moriarty in one of his many Irish radio interviews where he talked about not sitting well with the modern world and feeling its separation from nature acutely. Consequently he left his academic career and moved home to Ireland to Connemara in Co. Galway. The conversation with Douglas reminded me of Moriarty’s phrase not least because of their both moving to a rural location but in a topic that came up in the plus section of the show where we discuss the horror of poorly done TV and film adaptations. And how film becomes less story and more spectacle, that as a narrative form it is exhausted, the well has run dry. We discuss the need for new stories, new dreams and round out the conversation with hope and belief in the young generations and generation to be born will dream new stories and new art into being. The show notes are extensive for this one so do check them out there is a wealth of material to be explored there. Enjoy! Show notes: Website https://whatmagicisthis.com/ WMiT? Born in Angola, Africa, David Beth is the co-owner of Theion Publishing and the founder of the Pandaemonic Current and Hierophant of its associated initiatic groups. University educated in Germany and the USA, he has received various Western esoteric transmissions and is well known for his past work as the former head of Michael Bertiaux’ Voudon Gnostic orders. For the past decade he has focused most of his attention on advanced work with a small group of dedicated esoteric students. David is also a Houngan Asogwe of Haitian Vodou and an initiate of Afro-centric secret societies. Having lived and travelled all over the world, David has now made his home in the South of Germany.
David takes us through how the Black Man of the Sabbath leads the initiate into a different type of consciousness with which to engage the world. This type of consciousness is called ‘Night Consciousness’. The path to this type of consciousness can often require one's worldview to be shattered, a difficult and often horrifying experience.
In the Plus show David takes us deeper into his teaching on death and good and evil. David outlines why every life is unique and sacred. There are some huge concepts discussed here and not to be missed.

Dr Christina Oakley-Harrington is Treadwell’s founder and presiding spirit. She was voraciously interested in spirituality and magic since childhood, and grew up in West Africa, Burma, and Chile, only moving to the West at the age of fifteen. In her early twenties, she was heartened to discover Europe’s own native religious traditions and has been a pagan ever since. A former academic, she left university life in 2001 to establish Treadwell’s. These days she serves as a consultant for programs and projects but is usually at the shop. She is the author of two books and numerous articles and was co-founder and literary editor of Abraxas: International Journal for Esoteric Studies.Today we discuss her new book from Black Letter Press - Dreams of Witches. Free, pagan, transgressive: worshippers of Pan, devotees of Diana. The men and women who meet under a full moon in the wild woods danced, sing, made music, and made love; in the home they make potions and mutter spells, be it to curse or cure.
The witch image infused the European imagination down the centuries, appearing in court records, prose, and poetry. The impulse the literature described finally became a practiced mystery religion in the twentieth century, in the form of Wicca as it coalesced in the New Forest in the 1930s and 30s. The poems and passages in this book illustrate the supportive imagination of the New Forest Coven and its most famous initiate, Gerald Gardner. They date from the late medieval period through the Edwardian age, and all were instrumental, influential - inspiring early pagans, and hopefully, too, readers today.
In the Plus show we get into cunning folk. The covens importance around doing no harm and acting with integrity. The body as the source of magical energy and more broadly the adoption of magic and part of ones agency. Christina then poses the question

Today we welcome Indiana Stones himself, the one and only David Keohan. Hailing from Ireland, David is a Stone lifter, a kettlebell world champion, an artist and a musician. He’s been on a mission to recover Ireland's lost stone lifting culture and has done so through our literature and folklore. We spoke all about his stone lifting journey from his lifting of the fianna stone in Scotland which inspired his own search in Ireland. Culminating in the rediscovery of the stone described by the famous Galway writer Liam O'Flaherty in his short story ‘The Stone’. He has rediscovered 30 testing stones, a remarkable act of reclamation and celebration of this lost tradition. Through this act David has created a remarkable and unique magical act of healing of the multi-generational trauma of Ireland's colonisation. These great testing stones, now rediscovered form a chain back into our ancient past, before colonisation, before christianity and in lifting these stones once more the chain is renewed, in a feat of strength and deep ancestral healing. His work is a brilliant and inspiring intersection of folklore, magic, mythology, and strength. In the Plus show we get into ancestral work, and animism. We talk about Peig Sayers and Ghosts leading us to tell their stories. The death stone of Cú Chulainn, the Irish Hercules and to close out the show I read Liam O'Flaherty’s short story ‘The Stone’. Dr. Tomas Vincente is a scholar of ancient religion, magic and esotericism. His past work explores the emergence of Christian monotheism and the resulting decline of the chthonic cults of the ancient Mediterranean and Near East. He is dedicated to recovering the integrity of this archaic spirituality of blood and fire, which has been demonised by the Abrahamic religions for two millennia. In the show we discuss his work The Faceless God. The book has a triple focus—Lovecraftian, Egyptian and Sabbatic—which may seem bizarre at first glance. Through an initiated reading of Lovecraft’s fiction, relating especially to the figure of Nyarlathotep, certain hitherto unexplored connections are revealed between European witch lore and the Egyptian mysteries of Osiris and Anubis. The claim that there was a germ of truth beneath the diabolical stereotypes and accusations of European witchcraft was advanced long ago by Margaret Murray, who argued that witchcraft was an organised cult of pagan origin, which had somehow survived the processes of Christianization. Dr Vincente’s argument is much more subtle, and closer in spirit to the more recent research of Carlo Ginzburg. He would not speak of an organised witch cult, but rather of diverse and analogous survivals of shamanistic practice, which carried forward certain symbolic and ritual elements of archaic and pre-Christian origin. The most novel aspect of his argument lies in the unearthing of the deep symbolic resonances between the lore of witchcraft, relating to the black man and the Goat of Mendes, and the archaic fertility cult of the ram-headed Banebdjedet, who was a totemistic representation of Osiris—or more precisely Osiris in union with Ra in his netherworld aspect. In the Plus show we get into similarities between the Dark Man and the King of the Fairies. We discuss the importance of art and artists and what they bring back from the dark womb. We get into why this experience happens? What is the point of it? Dr Vincente goes on to describe the response to this summons is a radical openness to profound mystery not about the application of will. Big stuff. Wetiko is an Algonquin word for a cannibalistic spirit that is driven by greed, excess, and selfish consumption. It is a virus of the mind that underlies much evil and destruction n the world.
Author and researcher Paul Levy joins us today to discuss his work on the concept of Yet, and reveals that, encoded within wetiko itself lies the very medicine needed to combat the mind-virus and heal both ourselves and our world.
A pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence, Paul is a wounded healer in private practice, helping others who are also awakening to the dreamlike nature of reality. His work has gone through three phases: because of his intense interest in dreams (both night dreams and the dreamlike nature of reality), he was first known as "the dream guy." After writing DispellingWetiko, he became associated with the idea of wetiko. After the publication of The Quantum Revelation, he is now seen as connected with quantum physics. All three aspects - dreams, wetiko and quantum physics are interconnected and complementary facets of a deeper reality into which he is continually deepening his investigation.
He is the author of The Madness of George Bush: A Reflection of Our Collective Psychosis (2006), Dispelling Wetiko: Breaking the Curse of Evil (2013), Awakened by Darkness: When Evil Becomes Your Father (2015) and The Quantum Revelation: A Radical Synthesis of Science and Spirituality (2018). A Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for over 30 years, he has intimately studied with some of the greatest spiritual masters of Tibet and Burma. He was the coordinator of the Portland chapter of the PadmaSambhava Buddhist Center for over twenty years.

Today we welcome back to the Spirit Box the wonderful Mademoiselle Vendredi. Mme Vendredi is a black magician who in her previous appearance on the show took us through her work with Sigils, Servitors and her own brand of seduction magick.
Today she’ll be taking us the reality of Djinn work, Abramelin square magick and working with the The Forbidden Grimoire of Harut and Marut Book by Egyptian Sorcerer Al-Toukh.
We will also go through a recent encounter with what Mme Vendredi believes was a djinn possessed person. Our guest recounts a trip to Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, home to 10,000 djinns earlier this year and goes over the dangers of practicing magic in the Middle East sharing a recent case of magickians being imprisoned and executed.
In the Plus show we continue discussing the dangers of practicing sorcery in the middle east. And how this has led to memorising magickal work and the importance in servitor magick as camouflage. Finally she explains the difference between Demon and Djinn magic, specifically in how the spirits behave and how with the djinn there is waves of after effects.
It's good stuff, enjoy.

oday we welcome Michael Le Flem to discuss his book Visions of Atlantis: Reclaiming our Lost Ancient Legacy.
Michael Le Flem, M.A. is a researcher, adjunct professor of history and philosophy, columnist for New Dawn Magazine, a scuba diver and guitarist. He grew up in South Florida, and attended Florida State University, where he studied Western intellectual history and U.S. foreign policy.
People the world over have grappled with the story of Atlantis for millennia. How much is fact? How much is fiction? How much is something else, filtered through the obscuring lens of time?
Using clairvoyant impressions from Edgar Cayce, Frederick Oliver, Rudolf Steiner, Barbara Hand Clow, Michael Le Flem builds a concerted scientific, philosophical and historical investigation of humanity's antediluvian achievements and Atlantis' tragic demise.
At the same time, readers will see just how the story of Atlantis has evolved from the seminal account passed down by Plato almost 2,400 years ago into those of the present day, as we engage with some of its strongest proponents and harshest critics alike. More than just a dry catalog of Atlantean footnotes, Visions of Atlantis strikes at the core of the great divide between materialist reductionism and the frontiers of metaphysics, enjoining readers to reconsider some of their most deeply held beliefs about ancient technology, psychic phenomena, reincarnation, the vast unknown past, and our uncertain future.
In the Plus show we get into Cuban Anomaly and Azores pyramid. We also discuss the Bosnian pyramid and the mysteries of the polar regions... and creativity and channelling.

Today we welcome Gordon MacLellan to the Spirit Box to discuss his book Sacred Animals He is a writer, storyteller, animist pagan and environmentalist who has recognised that to really involve people with a renewed interest in, and commitment to, the world around us we may need more than traditional stories or religious parables and moral fables. The stories that grow from direct experience are powerful ways of building connections, building a sense of belonging and when we pare away the green-washing, the jargon, the endless blurbs, a lot of environmental urgency and anxiety just now can come down to connection: to renewing (or refreshing) that sense of really being part of the world. This connection forms a deeper purpose, one of rewilding the soul. His book Sacred Animals is not always animals to see or touch or run away from, but animals to see with the eyes of your mind, to encounter in the other ways. Animals to wonder over in the Otherworld and in this, the physical, world. The heart of this book is a spiritual adventure into contact and friendship with the animal world. It draws on ancient knowledge, surviving traditions, memories of other customs and the simple imagination that helps fill in the gaps. In the Plus show we discuss rewilding the soul. We discuss the human - nature divide and Gordon treats us to one of his wonderful Kelpie stories. Today we welcome back the great Joshua Cutchin to discuss his masterwork of scholarship and research, Ecology of Souls This is a comprehensive dive into the overlaps between a huge range of mythological, paranormal and consciousness phenomena. We live our entire lives knowing that death awaits us. The hopeful believe—they insist—that some part of us endures after we make our final transition. Their convictions are corroborated by eyewitnesses who swear to have seen spirits of the dead haunting the living... and even appearing during alien abductions. Is the UFO mystery reaching out to us from beyond the stars... or from beyond the grave? This staggering implication demands not only scrutiny of the UFO phenomenon but nearly every unexplained mystery haunting us today. In the Plus show we get into why Ireland is such a hotspot. What causes a hotspot in the first place? Joshua’s favourite story from the collection. Which religion has the best take on death in his opinion? And his new book on fairies in film. Today we welcome back the great Phil Hine on his new book Queerying Occultures.
What is Queerying Occultures? 'Queerying' is a portmanteau word from 'Queer’ and 'Query'—classic Phil Hine word play. Occulture is another portmanteau word meaning 'Hidden Culture' (from ‘Occult’ and 'Culture').
The occult is Queer. Historically. Intrinsically. Radically. Wonderfully Queer. Yet at times this essential fact can feel unacknowledged in wider Occulture dialogues. Addressing this, Phil Hine’s Queerying Occultures is a collection of queer-themed essays exploring, questioning and reflecting on the diverse trajectories that might arise from applying queer questioning to occultural themes and practices. Drawing on perspectives from Queer Theory, history, Continental Philosophy, and shared experience, Hine explores subjects as diverse as Shamanism and gender-variance; the rise of the Queer Pagan approaches; the uncomfortable history of occult homophobia; Queer perspectives on Tantra, Pan, Sacred Spaces, and Crowley in Boy Bar Berlin. This far-reaching, necessary book is both a celebratory resistance text and indispensable investigation of the Queer in Occulture.
In the Plus show we get into the Aghori, ideas on the left hand path and the innate queerness of the left hand path. The Shivite story of the woman who became a ghoul. We get into the history of Masquerade balls, and discuss the relationship between the battle brothers Cuchullian & Ferdia and the curse of Macha of birth pain on the men of Ulster

Salicrow is a natural psychic medium who weaves the traditions of her Irish Traveler and Blackfoot heritage with modern magical techniques. For more than 30 years she has worked as a spirit channel, seer, and intuitive healer, offering readings and teaching workshops throughout the United States and internationally. She is the author of several books and today we are discussing her latest book, Spirit Speaker: A medium’s guide to Death and Dying/
In this compassionate and straightforward guide to the spiritual process of dying and what happens after death, psychic medium Salicrow answers the most common questions asked by her clients over her decades of work as a spirit speaker. Seeking to normalize the spiritual aspects of end-of-life care, she explains how active dying exists outside of normal reality, in a state in which the dying person and their caregivers often experience a heightened state of consciousness. Describing how the spirit is separate from the body and continues to exist after death, she shares thought-provoking stories of spirit contact and synchronicities that occurred for those actively involved in the dying process. She reveals how these encounters are common and act as guideposts along the journey into death, helping to ease the transition. She offers simple techniques for helping loved ones who are stuck or struggling to cross over and shares practices designed to help honour our beloved dead and develop living relationships with our ancestral spirits.
Presenting an outline of what may be experienced during the dying process and beyond, Salicrow explores the time when a soul is actively dying or recently departed. She explains the multiple ways spirits reach out to communicate with us and provides a deep understanding of the signs, symbols, and sensations that spirits use to contact us as well as ways to strengthen that connection. She also explores challenging situations such as suicide, murder, and healing unresolved issues with the dead.
Crafted through years of spirit communication sessions, this guide details how the spirit world works while revealing the beauty, healing, and love that exist in death.
In the Plus show we get into the subject of body locks which keep people stuck in their bodies when dying. Salicrow also takes us through the moving account of being with her close friend during their assisted suicide. We go through the importance of a practical approach to the spirit world and the state of mind that is most conducive to spirit communication. Salicrow takes us through the many ways in which the beloved dead communicate with us and visit us from time to time. We wrap up discussing how there has been a spike in people having psychic experiences and how Spirit Speaker came out of that as a way to address this and help people navigate these experiences.

Andy has a wealth of information derived from practical experience and regales us with many stories from his 20 years of work as a medium. One thing I really found useful was Andy’s view on boundaries and how he would employ discernment when working with spirits.
In the Plus show we get into some of Andy’s cases and strategies employed to deal with them, ranging from hauntings to poltergeists to demons. This is rich stuff. We also go through the challenges of shadow work and the occult… spoiler, it ain’t pretty. To close we discuss and compare our own past life regression experiences.

Today we are joined by J.M. Hamade on the subject of Al- Khidr.
J.M. Hamade is an interdisciplinary artist, astrologer, writer, and educator residing in New York City. Focusing on the aesthetics of esoterica and the occult, they’re work bridges contemporary artistic practice with archaic forms of knowing. They have lectured, exhibited, and enacted live performances in the conjuration of phantom forms and ritual magic.
Al-Khidr is a figure described but not mentioned by name in the Quran as a righteous servant of God possessing great wisdom or mystic knowledge. In various Islamic and non-Islamic traditions, Khidr is described as a messenger, who guards the sea, teaches secret knowledge and aids those in distress. The meaning of the name has traditionally been taken to be "the Green One" or "the Verdant One". Which connects him to folkloric figures such as the green man and spirits of spring and of ‘greening’. We discuss Khidr’s liminal nature and his role as guide and get into the mysteries of the northern poles.
In the Plus show we discuss Khidr’s association with being two horned and Mose’s being depicted with two horns. We get into the ideas around the non-human language of nature and what Khidr as a spirit of creativity means to our guest. To close we get into the similarities between Khidr and Krishna.

Today we welcome back the one and only Peter Mark Adams! In his new book Hagia Sophia / Sanctum of Kronos, he presents a remarkable study of the esoteric beliefs and spiritual traditions contained within the architectural and decorative features of Istanbul’s iconic Hagia Sophia.
Hagia Sophia / Sanctum of Kronos tells the story of the building's hidden purpose: to conceal and preserve a sacred mystery in the face of rising Christian tyranny, right under the nose of Constantinople's Christian ascendancy. Represented in the sacred geometry, light, materials, and architecture of this astounding and powerful building, this sacred teaching is revealed by Adams’ in his remarkable thesis.
As with Adams’s previous books, this is a meticulously researched, captivating and illuminating piece of work. Punctuated with carefully selected, evocative photography and illustrations, it deconstructs the Hagia Sophia to reveal its esoteric heart.
Culturally, the structure acts as a repository for the metaphysical preoccupations of a Hellenistic culture that evolved from the great mystery cults of antiquity to become the metaphysical engine of subsequent European thought.
In the Plus show we discussed why Saturn is a focal point of Peter’s research and how the other plays a part in his creative process. We get into his next project in this Saturnian current and the relationship with providence and fate. We wrap up the show on the subject of energy work and healing and how this is foundational to Peter’s work and indeed his life

For episode #2 of season 2 we are joined by author and journalist Mike Magee.
Mike Magee is a well-known name to lovers and practitioners of Tantra to whom he has offered for decades the essential, condensed contents of many Tantras of the medieval period. This book is a fruit of his maturity and vast experience. Containing reliable translations and many Kālī Vidyàs, it is a valuable manual for practitioners and an important source for scholars.
Magee has written since the 1960s on matters related to occult and esoteric religions. In 1971 he started a small occult magazine called Azoth, and in 1973 in conjunction with David Hall, and his girlfriend Janet Bailey, started a more ambitious six monthly magazine called SOTHiS. In 1978, he went to India and met with an English tantrik guru (and former student of Aleister Crowley) called HH Shri Gurudev Mahendranath (1911–1992) who was a guru of the Uttarakaula Tantric Order of northern India. Mahendranath gave him the title of a guru and a charter to form a group of students. Magee took the tantrik name of Lokanath. Later this was to become a nucleus for the "Arcane Magical Order of the Knights of Shambhala" (AMOOKOS). This group was highly influential, particularly in the way it brought Tantrik teachings to the West.
Kali Magic brings together Mike Magee’s decades of experience in translating and elucidating tantrik texts. The first section—Sadhana—explores the ritual worship of Kali through mantra, her various aspects, and her yantras. The second section—Tantras—includes new English translations of the Matrkabheda, Todala, and Yoni tantras, plus two Kali Upaniṣads and abstracts of ten tantras related to the worship of the goddess. With a comprehensive bibliography and glossary of key terms, Kali Magic will be of great value to devotees and scholars of the goddess alike.
In the Plus show we discuss some of the rituals in Kali magic in relation to Western Ritual magic. We go through how Kali represents the killing of Ego. Tantra the similarity between sex and death. The importance of waking up. And how Mike sourced the materials found in the book.

For episode #1 of season 2 we are joined by author and translator David Pantano to discuss the recent publication ‘The Hermetic Physican’ on Giuliano Kremmerz. Giuliano Kremmerz (1861–1930), born Ciro Formisano, was one of the most influential Italian occultists, alchemists, and hermetic masters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, though he remains almost unknown to English readers.
In 1896, Kremmerz began writing about natural and divine magic, healing, and alchemy through the journal Il Mondo Secreto (The Secret World). At the same time, he founded a school known as the Schola Philosophica Hermetica Classica Italica as well as a magical group, the Therapeutic and Magical Fraternity of Myriam. Within the Myriam, he sought to use hermetic, magical, andPythagorean principles to harness the power of the psyche and convey collective energies for therapeutic purposes and distance healing. His initiatic order would become the principal esoteric society in Italy—comparable to its British counterpart, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn—but forced to be a carefully guarded secret as Mussolini’s government rose to power.
In this unique compilation of essays, David presents an in-depth study of Kremmerz’s life and work by his student and initiate, Italian esotericist Marco Daffi. Throughout this collection, David Pantano provides extensive annotations, offering the English reader essential historical and mystical context for Daffi’s work. For episode 98 we are joined by author Andrew Collins.
Andrew Collins is a science and history writer who has been investigating the origins of human civilization since 1995. He is the co-discoverer of a massive cave complex beneath the Giza plateau, now known as “Collins’ Cave.” The author of several books, including Gobekli Tepe: Genesis of the Gods, he lives in Essex, England.
In this show Andrew discusses his new book Origins of the Gods co-written with Gregory little.
It’s a remarkable study taking us from Göbekli Tepe in Turkey to the Egyptian pyramids, from the stone circles of Europe to the mound complexes of the Americas, Andrew Collins and Gregory L. Little show how, our ancestors built permanent sites of ceremonial activity where geomagnetic and gravitational anomalies have been recorded.
In the show Andrew goes into how the earliest forms of animism and shamanism began at sites like the Denisova Cave in the Altai Mountains of Siberia and in particular Qesem Cave in Israel more than 400,000 years ago. He explains how shamanic rituals and altered states of consciousness combine with the natural forces of the earth to create portals for contact with otherworldly realms—in other words, the gods of our ancestors were the result of an interaction between human consciousness and transdimensional intelligence.
Andrew discusses the science of quantum entanglement and David Bohm’s theory of Implicate order which support his own theories on what’s happening with these portals and the ultraterrestrial, possibly multidimensional intelligences that appear.

Dr Simon Young is a British folklore historian based in Italy. He has written extensively on the nineteenth-century supernatural. His book The Boggart (from Exeter University Press) and The Nail in the Skull and Other Victorian Urban Legends (from Mississippi University Press) are both out in 2022. He is the editor of Exeter New Approaches to Legends, Folklore and Popular Legends .
Dr. Young has undertaken the biggest folklore survey of its kind, on behalf of the Fairy Investigation Society. A Cambridge-educated historian Dr. Young, revived the society for a new fairy census - 60 years on from the last one. It gathered details of as many fairy sightings from the past century as possible and to measure contemporary attitudes to fairies, the details of which he shares with us in the show.
Simon briefly discusses his new title ‘The Boggart, Folklore, History, Place-names and Dialect. Detailing the little-studied and once much-feared boggart is a supernatural being from the north of England. .
We discuss the Wollaton Gnomes - a famous sighting that happened in 1979 in Nottingham, England. A small group of children were wandering the park early one evening when much to their surprise they were chased by gnomes in motor cars!
In the Plus section of the show we discuss how children's cultural trends and images can become folkloric figures in their own right and create moral panics. We discuss the nightmare and the interest fairies have in human sexuality. Simon goes into detail how fairy interactions have changed over the last 200 years from more intense, sometimes physical encounters to more sedate sightings. The subject of UFOs and the arguments for and against the fairy analogues come up and we explore some interesting ideas around the men in black and the wider thematic interrelations between the phenomenons. Simon goes on to describe the fairies as ‘social beings’ and how they represent a distorted mirror of our own society which provides a way we can think of ourselves outside the box.

Dr. Scott Taylor is the President of the Expanded Awareness Institute. EAI helps people curious about near-death experiences explore what that experience means to them and to our culture as a whole.
Dr Taylor has served as President and Executive Director of The Monroe Institute. He has been a trainer for The Monroe Institute since 1985. He is an expert in the use of binaural beat technology to achieve and hold expanded states of consciousness.
He is also the author and voice of six best-selling CDs of guided meditations on near-death experiences in his Into the Light series. He is a spiritual teacher, speaker and researcher on near-death experiences.
Dr Taylor is also an experiencer and in the show recounts his own moving ‘shared death experience’. We go on to discuss, what happens in NDE’s, what in fact is ‘the light’ and how NDE’s are malleable, participatory experiences.
In the Plus show we get into dimension sliding, folklore analogs for the NDA entity experience. We also discuss the strangest story he ever heard in this territory and finally the importance of meditation in order to be focused when in an expanded state of consciousness.
He reflects on how some of the frightening things people experience are metaphors designed to get our attention and how meditators tend to do better in these cases. Dr Taylor then goes into detail on how binaural beats can be used to induce the same state as experiences during NDEs.
Good stuff enjoy,

Charles Christian is an English barrister and Reuters correspondent turned writer, podcaster, award-winning tech journalist, and sometime werewolf hunter. He now writes, talks and makes videos mainly about folklore, urban myths, history, and the weird. He was born a ‘chime child’ with a caul so, according to legend, cannot drown at sea but can see and talk to ghosts and fairy folk without fear of coming to harm...
He is the author of "A travel guide to Yorkshire’s Weird Wolds: The Mysterious Wold Newton Triangle” and “Saints & Sinners in Dark Age England”. His latest book is “Shuckland: Weird tales, ghosts, folklore and legends from East Anglia’s Waveney valley” – volume one of a new haunted landscapes series – and he is currently writing an almanack of real witches and sorcerers, along with other practitioners of magic – black and white, from earliest times through until the modern era.
If you are fascinated by the weird, the unexplained and the bizarre, then you’ll enjoy this fascinating road trip around what he calls the Wold Newton Triangle, where rather odd events have occurred, unmatched anywhere else in Britain. We also talk about the aforementioned werewolf hunting, and a grisly discovery he made while investigating the Highgate vampire.
In the Plus show we discuss Charles’s upcoming book on Witchcraft and the legends of the Woodwose, England's analogue for the Bigfoot. And we wrap up discussing the nature of folklore.

For episode 93 we are joined Meredith Herrenbruck, a Master NLP Practitioner and Kahuna.
We discuss some of her cases including a ghost in the closet- how she had two clients with serious issues. One a ghost, the other was an entity attached to a toy Meredith describes how energy (sometimes even entities, too) is attached to objects: Rings, gifts, WWII helmets and a knife hidden beneath a newly paved street, wreaking havoc on the living. She stresses the importance of keeping ourselves and our houses clean and vibrant- need to keep things clean, organised and energetically happy. Negativity breeds negativity and entities and come in and attach and deplete you of yours.
Change in personality? New Phobia? Perhaps it’s an entity that is attached. They bring their baggage with them. Still mourning the loss of a loved one years later? Still crying when you think about them? Perhaps they didn’t go to the great beyond, but are actually attached to you.
In the plus show we discuss Meredith's Family constellation practice and how sometimes there are forces greater than ourselves, and sometimes those forces can make a mess of a family. Often when a trauma has occured upstream in the family and has not resolved, the younger generations can come in and grab onto that stuck energy to heal it, in effort to say "I love you." All the while, it is actually wreaking havoc on themselves and their families: and doesn't actually heal the original problem.
Constellations are a great basis to assist in clearing out other parts of our lives, not only stuck family energy, but entities, soul fragments, vows, curses and more. Discovered and expanded by Burt Hellinger, a psychoanalist in Germany, this system has an amazing way of teasing apart what's stuck and offers a resolution to the system. Like ripples in a pond, the resolution allows greater healing to take place.
Enjoy!

For episode 92 we welcome McCalla Ann, founder, podcaster and creator behind SaturnVox, a multimedia occult education and divination platform based out of New Orleans, Louisiana.
McCalla was born in Atlanta, Georgia to a Catholic family on her mother's side and with Jewish heritage on her father's. Though she attended Catholic school until high school, she turned to the occult at an early age, beginning her studies on witchcraft and tarot at the early age of 15.
McCalla left Atlanta for New Orleans to attend college at Loyola University, where she graduated with honours in Philosophy and World Religions with a concentration in Buddhism and its implications on language. Studying Buddhist philosophy and Chinese linguistics gave McCalla a unique perspective into language use as depicted by pictorial symbols, as opposed to the phonetic style of the west. This perspective involves an understanding of each pictorial symbol as holding multiple layers of meanings, and the ability to be able to hold all those meanings in one’s mind, so as to map out a full four dimensional picture out of these two dimensional shapes.
During her Downtime in college McCalla began delving deeper into the more formal realms of occult studies, beginning her study of the Jewish kabbalah and mysticism with vigour. Upon graduation, she was more than happy to turn her attention to these studies, along with those of traditional witchcraft, full time. She currently practices a flavour of witchcraft that flawlessly blends her studies on philosophy, folklore, and linguistic arts into a fusion of animism, theurgy, and kabbalistic as well as astrological study.
In the Plus show we discuss aesthetics and art is juxtaposed with magic and pull that thread into ideas around Tiphereth and explore the concept of living in joy. McCalla also discusses Saturn in further details. An illuminating and engaging conversation!

For episode 91 we are joined by patron Jessica Mitchell who will recount for us her amazing encounter with a ‘dark man’ on the top of Glastonbury tor after a nighttime ascent to watch the sunrise. It's remarkable story and one that will no doubt resonate with many listeners. We go through what it means for the individuals who witness such reality shattering events and Jessica describes the impact of the event on her life and worldview.
Now a point to note which we didn't discuss in the show is the Tor has an association with 'Gwyn ap Nudd'.
Gwyn ap Nudd is a Welsh mythological figure, the king of the Tylwyth Teg or "fair folk" and ruler of the Welsh Otherworld, Annwn, and whose name means “Gwyn, son of Nudd”. Described later on as a great warrior with a "blackened face", Gwyn is intimately associated with the otherworld in medieval Welsh literature, and is associated with the international tradition of the Wild Hunt.

For episode 90 we welcome Dr Alexander Cummins. Dr Al is a consultant, diviner, writer, magician, and historian. He approaches ritual, divination, and sorcery both as a long-term practitioner and a historian of early modern magic. Dr Cummins has worked as a professional diviner for over a decade, and published several works on astrological magic, grimoires, and folk necromancy. He also provides training, workshops, and coaching in many aspects of magical theory and practice. Originally from the Midlands of the UK, Al now makes his home in the US.
We discuss his new title "The Art of Cyprian's Mirror of Four Kings: An Early Modern Experiment of Cyprianic Conjuration". The Art of Cyprian, found in MS Sloane 3850, contains instructions for the construction and use of a magic mirror attributed to Saint Cyprian of Antioch. Along with the preparation of the mirror itself – which includes making and consecrating a particular ink for drafting certain figures of Solomon – come instructions detailing a conjuration of the ‘four worthy princes of the earth’, including a special appeal to the King of the East as their primus inter pares, and a dismissal of these same ‘four kings of the four parts of the world’. In this Guide to the Underworld, Alexander Cummins illuminates further Cyprianic dimensions of these directional courts of the various cardinal kings and their messenger-king attendants in the grimoiric corpus.
We also discuss his journey into magic which including the collaborative storytelling of Dungeons and Dragons and the influence of Aikido and childhood paranormal experiences at national trust properties and the spectrum of ancestor work and working with the dead.
In the Plus show we talk to how the dead can step forward in a practical sense and our ‘family’ is bigger and stranger than we think it is. We also continue Dr Al’s journey into the occult as he started Chaos Magic as a young adult and discuss at point in his life things became ‘real’. Dr Al relays an intriguing story about using divination that returned life changing results for a sick friend whose condition had baffled doctors.
We get into responsibility to others when practising spirit work and co-habiting and keeping oneself grounded. We discuss dealing with the restless dead and necromancy courses Dr Al has coming up. We also go through his approach to dealing with hauntings and dealing with ancestors, especially the tricky, more pushy ones!

Nathaniel Gillis is a religious demonologist and author. After living in a haunted house, He spent 20 years researching what it was he encountered. He is the founder of Preternatural Epiphenomenal Philosophy and he has sought to redefine the nature of haunting phenomena, ghosts and high strangeness. Nathaniel poses the question if the abduction phenomenon is in fact a part of the OBE and NDE family…then we need to re-examine many of the ancient funerary texts. He outlines how the Atrahasis epic states... “The soul of a man is made from the flesh of a god.” This speaks to consciousness being more than mere thought or memory…this speaks of consciousness actually possessing texture of some sort. The soul being fleshly is a reference to the tangibility of an apparition and the way it maintains a solid form. This hidden potentiality is why he has begun to call Greys and other apparitional manifestations as “Inner Dimensional.” In the Plus show Nathaniel takes us through some of the astonishing cases he has investigated and helped with and helped him understand how some of this phenomena works. For episode 87 we welcome back author and healer Peter Mark Adams to discuss his new book 'The Power of the Healing Field'.
Sharing remarkable cases of healing and personal transformation from his and his wife’s more than 20 years of intensive professional energy healing work as well as experiences from other gifted healers, psychics, and shamans, Peter illustrates the role of transpersonal fields of consciousness in healing a range of issues--from inherited family and ancestral problems to past lives and womb trauma to near-death experiences, merged identities, and spirit attachment. Drawing on esoteric tradition as well as scientific research, such as Rupert Sheldrake’s morphic field studies, the author maps out the human energy field in all its subtleties, providing diagrams of the human energy body, the spectrum of states of awareness, the multilayered fields of consciousness, and the psychoenergetic dynamics of the transformation process.
Through compelling testimonials of powerful healings, Peter shows how the processes of healing and of peak spiritual experience are closely aligned with harmony within the larger energetic field of consciousness.
In the Patreon Plus show we talk rebirth, chthonic visions, family timelines, the Spancel of death, spiritual emergencies, the effects of kundalini surges, the difficulties that can arise from managing this high level of energy and all manner of wonderful Peter Mark Adams goodness!

For episode #83 we welcome Gabriel McCaughry to the Spirit Box. Gabriel is an author, a magical practitioner and the founder of Anathema Publishing.
In the show we get into Gabriel’s background, and the interesting crooked path that led him to found Anathema Publishing.
We discuss Pillars periodical and its recently released volume, A Wayfarer’s Hearth, of which I am a proud contributor. This is a collection of stories of holy pilgrimages, transformative journeys and revelatory voyages.
"A Wayfarer’s Hearth’ sets out to share the tales of those who have been deeply affected in esoteric ways by our travels to other lands, who have had our perceptions altered through cultural immersion, through being confronted with our own fears and prejudices. For those who have had our eyes pried open, our inner-selves irreversibly changed."
In the Plus show we discuss in further depth how the themes of the Pillars projects often become the theme of Gabriel’s year. Today we will be exploring the work of explorer Kira Salak and her experiences in Libya regarding the ‘The Fortress of the Jinn' or Kaf Ajnoun.
Kaf Ajnoun is a jagged ridge with several peaks, the largest being The Qala'a (castle), along the Libya/Algeria border near the town of Ghat by the Akakus Massif. As it is in the Sahara, the native peoples are the nomads of the Tuareg and Tibu tribes.
Looking like a haunted citadel crowned with a magical fortress-like summit, the mountain was thus assumed the abode of mythical beings. According to Berber Tuareg mythology the ‘The Fortress of the Jinn' was once a "Hall of Council", where genies met to discuss their affairs.
According to the explorer Hugh Clapperton, who visited the area in 1822, some of the inhabitants of the mountain, apparently with red hair, were heard to beat their drums at night and fire their muskets.
Adventurer and traveller Kira Salak who followed the trail of Hugh Clapperton climbed to the summit with her photographer friend Bobby Model. She reached the top and back safely without any encounters; but according to her around 18 months later, during an Ayahuasca session in Peru she discovered she had been possessed by evil spirits that "entered her body when, against the warnings of the local tribesmen, she climbed a supposedly haunted mountain in Libya". The possession and subsequent exorcism will be detailed in the Plus show.

For episode 80 it is an honour and privilege to be joined by BAFTA award winning writer, Geoff Thompson. He is a highly regarded martial artist. He has a 7th Degree Black belt in Shotokan Karate along with a 1st Degree Black Belt in Judo. He worked as a night-club doorman for about 10 years in various clubs. He became a doorman to face and overcome his fear of violent confrontation.
He has written fifty books, several multi-award-winning films, three stage plays and hundreds of articles, many published in national magazines and broadsheets.
His work Romans 12:20, directed by the Shammasian Brothers has been adapted into a feature film, Romans, starring Orlando Bloom.
A remarkable resume, and yet Geoff will tell you none of it matters, that it all pales into significance against the goal of winning one's will which he defines in the show and he takes us through his understanding of the power and true nature of forgiveness.
In the Plus show we discuss how autonomy of will extends into what we consume in all forms and what we put out in terms of our behaviour. Geoff explains the importance of alignment of self, and the causal body in passionate detail. He asks us to confront the truth of our individual behaviour and take back our autonomy from the parasites that influence us.

For episode #79 it is my great pleasure to welcome the author, visionary CEO and shaman (although he denies it) someone I’m very proud to call a friend; the Reverend Danny Nemu.
Danny’s background is in the history and philosophy of medicine from the University of Manchester. He first encountered ayahuasca when living in Japan. After six years drinking there with a Santo Daime group, he followed the trail back to its source in the Brazilian Amazon, where he was bitten by a sandfly, leading to a leishmaniasis infection. This highly aggressive bacterial parasite quickly colonised a few inches of his skin, with designs on much more, and proved to be a great teacher, providing ample opportunity to study firsthand the intricacies and potencies of ayahuasca as used as a medicine within the Daime worldview. The process took eight months, involving diets and barks, many rituals, and daily consumption of the visionary brew. By the end of it he had lost 10 kilos and gained a deep respect for the complexity and intelligence of the natural world.
He has released two of his three books on the apocalypse and is two drafts into the third... The first book ‘Science Revealed - The apocalypse in science: discovery’, covers the biographies of scientists including Tesla and Einstein, and reveals how our most groundbreaking ideas result not from rational thinking and tapping on calculators, but from visions, dreams, feverish delirium, and other non-rational revelations. The second: ‘Neuro-Apocalypse’ is about veils arising in the course of cognition, and revelations that cut them down. To that end, we discuss the presence of visionary drug use in the bible, most notably Frankincense and Myrrh
He is the founder-CEO of Reforestation and Agroforestry charity RAIN: RAIN focuses the resources and intelligence of a distributed global network via local nodes into vitally important projects to regenerate degraded land. In the Plus Show there is an extra hour, where we discuss apocalyptic waves, novelty, and what shamanism is and what it isn’t. A riveting and informed conversation thanks to Danny!

For episode 78 we are joined once again by the great Aidan Wachter for a Spirit Box exclusive! This is his first interview on his new book, ‘Changeling: A book of Qualities’!
"Changeling considers the craft as a vessel, a container for ideas and approaches that help clarify the path to sovereignty and effective practical magic. It looks at the qualities and practices that when integrated into a life can lead to a more beneficial understanding of self and the world. Changeling helps us to deftly navigate the complexities of having a meaningful praxis and seamlessly weave magic into the whole fabric of our life."
In the show we go over his experience of writing the book, and how it affected Aidan more deeply than his previous outings. Aidan outlines how his previous books, 'Six Ways' and 'Weaving Fate' covered areas he had mastered, but this book has territories that he still is working on. We discuss how the process of transformation is constant, without end, and is not a linear journey... there are regressions and setbacks along the way.
In the Plus show we discuss how power can be gentle but still produce cataclysmic changes, and the elemental qualities Aidan attributes to his collection of work. We also get into being in the moment, being present and having discernment in where you spend your time.
Enjoy!

Dr Maria Vivod is an Ethnologist and anthropologist from Serbia, with an interest in Visual Anthropology. Today we discuss the subject of one of her short documentary films and accompanying paper “The Fairy Seers of Eastern Serbia”
The fairy-seers of Southeastern Europe are usually women who fall into trance through dancing on special days in a year and are able to communicate with women-like creatures from the supernatural world. During the process of communication with the fairies the fairy-seers can prophesy future events. The fairy-seers also bring messages to the living from the behalf of their deceased relatives. Similarly, they can give advice about how to heal an ill individual or they can proceed to the treatment of the ill individual after consulting the fairies. These illnesses are usually a form of a fairy-illness – a disorder which has its origins in a curse or a spell of the human-offended fairies.
The subject of the film we discuss is Ivanka, she is a Vlach woman from eastern Serbia. She sees her ‘sisters’ since her early twenties and is able to communicate with them on three exact days of the Christian orthodox calendar: Epiphany, Palm Sunday, St.Peter's Day. This trance was Ivanka's last. You can find a link to the film in the show notes.
In the Patreon Plus show we discuss Dr Vivod’s own remarkable consultation with the Fairy Seer and the funeral rites of the Vlach people and the views of the relationship with spirits of the dead. Dr Vivod explains the process of curse removal through a process called ‘melting fear’ and an extraordinary rite called a ‘Black Wedding’ wherein the young who have passed before their time are symbolically married so they can wed on the other side.

For episode 71 we welcome Jason Miller. He has written five books including the now classic Protection and Reversal Magick and he teaches a number of courses online including the Strategic Sorcery Training Course, The Black School of St Cyprian, and The Sorcery of Hekate.
In his 20’s he was initiated into a Coven that worked Witchcraft along the lines of Mastering Witchcraft, joined the Ordo Templi Orientis, and the Chthonic Auranian Temple.
In his mid 20’s he took his first Tantric initiation into Vajra kila ya. He devoted the next several years to the study of Tantra and Himalayan Magic in general. Eventually he moved to Nepal in 1999. In Nepal he spent a lot of time at the Cremation grounds of Pashupatinath meditating and on one occasion he got a glimpse inside a normally closed structure and saw an extraordinary sight, he had the presence of mind to take a photograph. You can see that photo here.
In the Plus section we discuss the nature of the separation between the east and west thinking and whether it is actually that different. We also discuss the Phurba, the razor nail of Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, Bön, and Indian Vedic traditions and the remarkable origin of Jason’s relationship with Hekate.

Are we dealing with a self-serving, predatory race using an advanced form of psychological warfare that’s terraforming our reality through the human mind? Or is this predatory intelligence an aspect of some elaborate alchemical process, which, on a macro scale, maintains our reality’s harmonious balance? Michelle uses a unique premise to test her hypothesis that being an Intrinsic Data Field analyser or IDF. We wrap up the show discussing the benefits of getting punched in the face. A few weeks back I was talking about the Puck Fair in Killorglin, Co Kerry, in the southwest of Ireland. For those of you not familiar with the fair, essentially is a Lughnasadh adjacent festival where a wild billy goat is caught on the mountainside the goat is brought back to the town, and the Queen of Puck, traditionally a schoolgirl from one of the local primary schools crowns him King Puck. They are then paraded around the town looking down on their subjects from a kind of mobile tower that looks a lot like a medieval siege tower without the protective cladding to the delight of a rapturous crowd. It reads a bit like the start of a folk horror screenplay, doesn’t it? And to be fair, it should because there is some pretty heavy pagan fertility symbolism laced through this event. There are some adult themes in the show as we also get into overlordship or Kingship depended upon male claimant making love to the territorial goddess and some of the wilder accounts of Kingship rites as laid out by Giraldus of Wales, that involve the consumption of the marriage to the land in its most literal sense. .

For episode 67 it is my great pleasure to welcome author Peter Grey. Peter is also the co-founder of iconic occult publishers Scarlet Imprint and joins us today to discuss his new book ‘The Two Antichrists’.
“The Two Antichrists is a monograph by Peter Grey on the figure of Antichrist in a post-Christian and progressive Thelemic context.
Opening with considerations on the future of witchcraft and its relation to radical ecology, Grey returns to the Babalon Working of Jack Parsons and L. Ron Hubbard, and considers a series of little examined texts from science fiction and the outer fringes of Scientology which form a ‘Babalon Apocrypha.’ By reading across these sources, the familiar story is revealed to have hidden depths and dimensions. Exploring the role of Antichrist in relation to Parsons and Hubbard, Grey provides insights into the initiatory drama of Thelema: of Satanic rites, Abyss and Angel. The Two Antichrists observes the long shadow cast by the monolith of Scientology, and Parsons’ eclipsed sodality The Witchcraft. Looking to the future, he envisions an emergent space witchcraft, infused with the spirit of Do What Thou Wilt.
The book concludes with a series of non-denominational rituals and revised Antichrist workings. The work is a fusion of inspiration, research and ritual, from which Grey draws the first lines of his vision of witchcraft in the dusk of our world.
The work stands as a companion to Lucifer: Praxis (forthcoming 2022), and continues the trajectory initiated with The Red Goddess and pursued through Apocalyptic Witchcraft. The work was completed on Winter solstice 2020.”

Jake’s work is psychedelic, unusual, dark, beautiful, and elegant. His work seeks to illuminate experiences which Jake has had that are outside of the realm of normal waking consciousness, moving into numinous and visionary realms with natural ease. He considers himself an "interdimensional midwife and conduit" believing that the role of the artist is to be able to move outside of themselves and to act as a conduit for higher consciousness to move through them. In this way he says, "I do not claim authorship for any of the works of art I have painted. I am a channel for Great Spirit to create through me."
He is one of the few visionary artists with a formal classical art education, having studied classical realist drawing and painting in Florence, Italy at the Angel Academy of Art.

To give you an idea of what the podcast Patreon is like I've compiled this show from some of last years bonus content from the community. Yes, I'm on the hard sell...
The 'Man in black' is a figure that has come up a few times in the podcast not least as an adversary in the guise of 'Old Nick' or in a more modern context the MIB phenomenon. In this bonus show, I'll talk about how this figure is represented in both Irish folklore and in Irish mythology as the 'Fear Dubh Dorcha'. The stories I have gathered are from Duchas.ie.
"These stories feature the common themes of the 'Dark horseman' trickster that leads the protagonist awry and is quite unnecessarily cruel and spiteful on travellers he meets along the road. ... things take a darker turn and the human visitor gets an unpleasant supernatural brush with death.
The stories propose that the reason for this unnecessary cruelty is a grudge the fairy folk has against humanity, much like the Djinn. I then briefly discuss the startlingly similar origin myths of the Fairies and Djinn."
All these pieces have been gathered from the rural communities of Ireland via numerous folklorists and cataloged meticulously. I'm in their debt, it was a privilege to read through these handwritten stories and testimonies.
Anyway, hurry along the road this dark night, lest you cross paths with the 'Man in black'.

For episode #64 we are joined by occultist, poet and writer Celeste Mott.
Born in England and raised in Australia, Celeste has made New Orleans her home.
She was gifted her first tarot deck in the 90s, and at age 13 she began seriously studying the cards, along with every book about spiritualism, magick, and the occult she could get her hands on. Her personal studies and practices led her to earn an B.A. in Philosophy & Comparative Religion, with a special focus on New Religious Movements and magic & ritual in contemporary religiosity.
In the context of Celeste’s nomadic past we discuss Identity and place, and the importance of discernment with the Occult groups you reach out to and engage with. Celeste shares with us a formative spirit experience with what would become a familiar spirit. We also discuss recent events where Celeste was dealing with a particularly unpleasant spirit that has formed an attachment to her.
We recorded this against the backdrop of a very large thunderstorm and at the 104 min mark the Storm Gods decided it was time to intercede and cut my WiFi. Look out for the 'hold' music!
In Plus section Celeste and I nobly battle on in spite of the storm to delight and inspire you further! We discuss the TikTok prevalence for humanising Spirits or Deities, poetry as an expression for her magical process. We wrap up talking about living in a hurricane alley and the healing qualities of practicing gardening and how we communicate with plants.

For episode 62 we welcome back author, magican and talismanic jeweller, Aidan Wachter.
We discuss he last book Weaving Fate and Aidan’s writing process, including the importance of flow and how his work is made up of broken pieces which makes sense at a later point.
We talk magic as a tool for altering future probabilities and ones past through ritual and manipulation of the mind and the world. Magic and sorcery are ways of being in the world and Aidan's writing offers us his way without conditions or constraints.
Aidan’s work helps anchor us around the understanding that our lives are our own. That we can be our own real time biographers and we can write a better story. He also gives us a good toolkit for doing so in both of his books, Six Waysand Weaving Fate.
In the Plus show we discuss ‘naming’ and coming of age and the idea of ‘the feral self’. I also manage to go down a rabbit hole around my confusion with billionaire's obsession with Super Yachts. I’m not even sure how my brain got there...

In the Plus show we discuss working with the Goetic spirits and the Arbatel, Olympick spirits and Mme Vendredi gives us her views on cultural appropriation.
Cards on the table, we had a lot of microphone problems with this one so the audio is touch on the shite side in places but its momentary... these things too shall pass so stick with it.

For episode 60 we are joined by the charming Douglas Batchelor, a Magician and host of the wonderful ‘What Magic is This?’ podcast.
I hugely enjoyed this show, it was great to chat with Douglas and we really got into his journey into magick and what it has meant to him. We also dug into how the show came about and what the driving goal behind the it is about and the contribution Douglas’s ancestors have made to the direction of the podcast.
We discuss the healing and self development aspects of sorcery but most importantly what magic can give to people. In his own words...
"...my name is Douglas and I have been doing this whole sorcery and magic thing for 18 years. It’s something that I don’t normally share with people but when I do they become very interested. Either that or they stop talking to me. With luck, this podcast will help spread my enthusiasm for magic and these topics to others, because I think we could all use a bit of magic in our lives. Not only that, but what we call Magic might just be the underlying, unknown stuff that this reality runs on."
In the Plus show we talk about Douglas's personal relationships with Anubis and St Cyprian. And we discuss hearing spirit voices and mental health.
Enjoy!

Ivo Domínguez Jr, is an author, teacher, and ritualist. In the show we discuss some of his foundational experiences that set him out on his journey. Before getting on to his new book, The four elements of the Wise, an in-depth exploration of the elements, their lore, history, correspondences, and use in spellwork and ritual.
The four elements are the pillars that uphold the manifest world and anchor spirit to matter. They are associated with a wide range of spiritual entities, from small elementals to divine beings.
This book explores the consciousness of the elements, which provides a system of understanding that supports most of the magic of the West and paganism.
In the Plus show we get into some of Ivo’s incredible experiences including a spontaneous possession by Ogun, a student's attempt to summon something a bit above their pay grade and the nature of Spirit communication and the ability of spirits to read the deeper levels of our consciousness.

For episode #58 we are joined by Sorita d’Este. An accomplished author she has penned the Circle for Hekate (V.1 & 2) as well as around 20 other titles.
Aspects of Ancient Greek and Aegean religious and magical practices, as well as Ancient Egyptian, Hermetic and Celtic threads, can be found in her work that combines her experience gained in Initiatory Craft, as well as traditions preserved in other European traditions, Orphism and the Grimoires.
Today we discuss Hekate, her revival in modern witchcraft and Sorita gives us a superb background to the history of the goddess and dispels some modern myths.
She has travelled extensively, visiting many ancient religious sites – including temples in Malta, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Sri Lanka and India and in the Plus show we discuss travelling and in particular her journey to the Temple of Hekate in Lagina Turkey.

For episode #56 we are joined by author Paul Weston. In an idea laden show we cover the significance of one's own landing coordinates, 'what’s happening around you in your formative years' and Paul takes us through growing up in the sixties on into the seventies and to the concept of Hauntology, which he has many thoughts on.
We segue into a lost UFO experience and unpublished book from a Glastonbury stalwart and his own book that resulted from that. We discuss how Glastonbury being a beacon connected with Extraterrestrial gnosis was actually a far bigger factor into how it developed into the New Age mecca it now is in the seventies.
We then come back round to discuss patterns through time that manifest in culture and settle in the 90’s and how its importance in time is yet to fully come to fruition.
In the Plus show we talk about the systems of control becoming more visible to the public and how this is tied to patterns through time, a very Terrence McKenna idea. We discuss Allen Greenfield version of Crowley's Liber Samekh with the names of classic UFO entities that he has associated with New Aeon English Qabalah inserted. So sign up to the patron for that excellent conversation. We wrap up on the topic of the Diamon, creativity and building the information exchange with the HGA and ones sense of identity is not limited to time and space coordinates and there is a bigger wider thing going on circling back to the start of the show and one's own landing coordinates.

In January 1959, ten experienced young skiers set out for Mount Otorten in the far north of Russia. While one of the skiers fell ill and returned., the remaining nine lost their way and ended up on another mountain slope known as Kholat Syakhl (or ‘Mountain of the Dead’).
On the night of 1 February 1959 something or someone caused the skiers to flee their tent in such terror that they used knives to slash their way out. Search parties were sent out and their bodies were found, some with massive internal injuries but with no external marks on them.
The autopsy stated the violent injuries were caused by ‘an unknown compelling force’. The area was sealed off for years by the authorities and the full events of that night remained unexplained. Using original research carried out in Russia and photographs from the skier's cameras, author and researcher Keith McCloskey joins us today to explore what happened to the nine young people who lost their lives in the mysterious ‘Dyatlov Pass Incident’.
All of the known negatives taken from the group’s cameras were examined in great detail. What they show is that not only were the group present on Mountain of the Dead that last night, but they were also watching something that was going on in the night sky. Keith also discusses the Mansi, the tribes people of the area, their spiritual beliefs and folklore and how they fit into the mystery.
In the plus show Keith discusses the occurrences of lights in the sky in the area including meteors and how the bodies gave off traces of radiation and what he believes this to indicate. Theories of KGB involvement.

For episode 51 we welcome author, landscape punk and creator of Hookland and AvalonCon speaker David Southwell.
As some of you know Spirit Box is the official podcast of AvalonCon and David is the first in the series of guests that will be appearing on the show in the run up to the event.
This was a fascinating conversation and one I greatly enjoyed. David traced the creative origins of Hookland back to sharing a taxi with J G Ballard through to the developed concept providing a magical perspective on the landscape as an act of a re-enchantment.
We also discuss Hookland’s function as a resistance to fascist claims on folklore. From there we go into David's childhood, growing up in Essex, being a 7 year old necromancer and the Southern TV interruption incident in 1977.
In the Plus show we discuss the Usborne supernatural books that had a big influence on us both and the haunted hotel in Glastonbury where a lot of the AvalonCon attendees are no doubt staying. We touch on David’s time as an end of pier fortune teller, classism in the Occult and much more.

Mana Aelin is a shadowsinger, artist, intuitive reader, otherwordian traveler, witch, and cemetery walker. Hailing from the depths of the Underworld, Mana often finds themselves connecting with wolfish creatures of this plane and others, baneful plants, and those who live in constant liminality.
Mana hosts the brilliant “The Real Witches of the End Times,” a podcast where magick and paranormal folk share their stories for an audience of not-just-witches, living people, or humans.
A fun and interesting show we chat about the trials and tribulations of starting your own podcast, imaginary friends, spirit portraits and developing a relationship with a fae entity. We discuss the parallels in our own journeys and how travel thins the veil between worlds. There was also a very weird occurrence in that I seemed to know exactly what Mana was going to say on several occasions!

For episode #46 it’s my great pleasure to welcome Mr Devin Hunter. Devin is the bestselling author of the Witch Power Series and is the creator of ModernWitch.com (Podcast, Blog, Magazine), as well as a professional psychic medium and occultist. He is part owner of The Mystic Dream in Walnut Creek, CA, and an initiate of multiple occult orders, including his own, Sacred Fires and is the cofounder of the Black Rose Tradition of Witchcraft. He has been featured in multiple publications and is a frequent presenter and keynote at conferences, and festivals throughout the US.
We talk about the formative psychic experiences that led him down his path. We discuss how his witchcraft is unique to him but how one's journey or ‘The lonely road’ as he calls it is something we all will undertake if we’re called to this territory.
He outlines how we must honour our individual experiences and not always try to rationalise things from a left brain perspective. That the goal should be to balance both the left and right sides of our brains Devin gives his view of a crystal I picked up many years ago (check out the show art).
And in the Plus show we get into crystals in some depth and the forces found within the crystal types, the Devas and the Dragon a subject he goes into in his upcoming book.

For episode #45 we welcome Pierre Sabak. He is an expert on ancient symbolism and etymology and is widely recognized as a leading academic in the fields of religion, mythology, mysticism and the esoteric. New Ufology is the Study of Occult Symbolism to deconstruct the Ufological tradition, a restricted teaching equated with the Flying Saucer and its occupants (a Crewmember of a Vessel).
A completely new field of research, the focus of New Ufology is Skaphology (the Study of Angelic Boats within Religion and Mythology). Pierre Sabak's work on the Saucer Cults details a Secret Alien Code within Language which he calls the Artefact, one that is identified archaically with the ‘Angelic Sailor’ and its human and non-human Hosts.
Sabak contends that it is only through studying the occult tradition that we can truly comprehend the UFO phenomenon, its astrological origins and more importantly its intentions for mankind! - to that end, what are its intentions for mankind?
Quite a bit to unpack there and some interesting twists and turns from the regular themes on this show. Which is good. No one and no system has all the answers so it is important to get off the map sometimes.

For episode #44 we welcome my creative partner in the creation of the Sigil Engine, creative technologist and photographer David Tidman.
In the show we go through the how the project came about and unpack the creative and esoteric concepts behind the engine. We breakdown how the project was technically approached and the challenges that arose from attempting to create a magickal tool via digital methods.
We discuss what people are using it for, how the engine has a global user base and what's next for the project.
The fundamental question is 'does it work?'. The first ever sigil created on the live tool was for a successful launch and in roughly10 days there were 100k sigils created and we're currently closing in on 150k. It was so successful we had to upgrade the server.
So 'does it work?', time will tell for users, but it worked for us. Incidentally the project had a little write up on Boing Boing.
In the patrons plus show we discuss our photographic work and reflect on a few of our mountain adventures over the years.

For episode 43 I have the great pleasure of welcoming back Dana Fox to discuss his new project ‘The Valley of the Four Houses’ Firstly, it’s the name of the book he’s writing. Secondly, it’s the name of an ongoing series of talks and lectures he’s giving on Patreon. The talks encompass film reviews, but not in the usual way. Dana present’s theories about particular films. It’s experimental. It’s a type of magic. The magic for me is learning to discount nothing, to see tiny hints of something which might lead you in an unexpected direction. Links as always in the show notes.
In the show we cover all of the above and we talk about some of the paranormal subject matter, magick, philosophy and some rare and tragic cryptids. There were some audio issues during the recording so there is some background noise in places but nothing too unbearable.

For episode #42 we are joined by author Moon Laramie who discusses his new publication Blavatsky Unveiled Vol I. H. P. Blavatsky's original occult masterpiece, Isis Unveiled, covers a wide range of topics from ancient Egyptian Mystery schools and cosmogenesis to the conflict between science and spiritualism. But Blavatsky's elaborate Victorian prose presents a major stumbling block for the 21st-century reader. In the book Moon Laramie addresses these linguistic challenges by rendering the original text, for the first time ever, into easily accessible modern English, with detailed notes and a comprehensive 'Who's Who' section. It’s a psychedelic ride through a world of seances, skeptical scientists, multiple earths, Atlantis, Lemuria, Giants and a vastly different view of human history. For episode 40 we welcome American artist and photographer Shannon Taggart and her documentary work with the spiritualist community culminating in the magnificent photo book SÉANCE.
Her project evolved into an eighteen-year journey that has taken her around the world in search of ‘ectoplasm’—the elusive substance that is said to be both spiritual and material. We discuss what inspired Shannon's journey as well as some of the strange experiences she had and how it changed her.
With SÉANCE, Taggart offers haunting images exploring Spiritualist practices in the US, England and Europe: 150 of her original photographs, many of which have never been published, as well as rare historical photographs. Supported with a commentary on her experiences, a foreword by Dan Aykroyd, creator of Ghostbusters (1984) and fourth-generation Spiritualist, and illustrated essays from curator Andreas Fischer and artist Tony Oursler, SÉANCE examines Spiritualism’s relationship with human celebrity, its connections to art, science, and technology, and its intrinsic bond with the medium of photography.

Well this was a lot of fun! The legend that is Joshua Cutchin is back on Spirit Box to talk Changelings and Fairy child abductions, the subject of his superb book 'Thieves in the Night'.
Get out your fairy, jinn, ultraterrestrial bingo cards because we get into a lot here.
We talk about the topic as a global phenomenon as Joshua presents in the book. We discuss the correlations with the Alien abduction experience and the reasons why these events were believed to take place. We discuss the reasons 'Iron' and 'Fire' are used as a defence against these beings and why calling on a higher power seems to work, irrespective of which higher power being invoked.
I get a chance to play Joshua the ' Fairy Witness accounts' I've recorded and in the Plus show we get into the 'Man in Black' of fairy folklore, black eyed children, Santa Claus, Jinn and the ubiquitous 'Men in Black' of ufo folklore.

An egregore that receives enough sustenance can take on a life of its own, becoming an independent deity with powers its believers can use to further their own spiritual advancement and material desires. " In the show we discuss Mark's book, Egregores The Occult Entities That Watch Over Human Destiny were he examines the history of egregores from ancient times to present day, with detailed and documented examples, and explores how they are created, sustained, directed, and destroyed. We discuss Saturn and its relationship to egregores, how reality is constantly manipulated both in a material and immaterial sense and the dark magickal practices which facilitate this. The Gnome Manuscript is a part of a set of three books including, The Gnome Grimoire and The Gnome Compendium, the later two being due for publication with Troy Books. All three are based on the works of J.H.W. Eldermans concerning gnomes.
The original source manuscript is lost but a copy is held in the Museum of witchcraft and magic at Boscastle. The artwork in the manuscript is remarkable, some of which you can see in the YouTube version of the podcast. It’s worth having a look to get a sense of the complexity of this work.
We discuss the elusive and complicated figure that is Eldermans. We discuss the importance of stories, place and community in our lives.
In relation to Gnomes Wilmar proposes the areas most associated with Gnome mythology were previously lands of Celtic tribes and a residual belief of those people. Wilmar also reveals an unexpected possible origin myth of the Gnomes. Witte Wieven, also make an appearance. Translated the White woman who have almost identical mythology to the Banshee and Wilmar warns that if you see a Witte Wieven you have to run, they are not friendly.
In the Plus show we further discuss what was Eldermans trying to achieve with the book and the stories about his engagement with local people regarding the Gnomes and a secret grimoire Eldermans penned covering a remarkable range of occult subjects, hinting at an ambition of producing a larger body of work of which the Gnome manuscript was a part. Wilmar goes on to discuss the sexual component to Eldermans work and what his view of magick was and what was needed to practice it. We also go through a story around Eldermans connections with Occult groups. If that sounds like it floats your boat join the Patreon and you'll get access to all previous Plus shows and much more.

It is not a system, grimoire, or belief system. The focus is on the development of healthy spirit ecologies with a decidedly animist bent. We talk spirits, dirt sorcery and rural life. Aiden takes us through a moving experience he had through his work in deep trance states. We discuss the influence of society on the self and how solid praxis and discernment can help insulate oneself against that which does not serve you.
In the Plus show we discuss Aidan’s encounters with the Man in Black, Luminous threads of attachment and practices to protect oneself from hungry spirits. We also chat about the occulture obsession with the lineage and authenticity of magical practices. To that end we discussed the consistent methods & tools that have allowed people to dip into the old currents throughout time. The book narrates the true story of Father Gabriele Amorth, the former chief exorcist of the vatican who performed more than sixty thousand exorcisms over a thirty-year period in Rome.
The book details the experiences Fr Amorth had during his career like the windows icing over during an exorcism in summertime in Rome, dealing the results of magical attacks and some startling manifestations including a possessed young man producing nails from his mouth. We compare elements of the accounts and techniques detailed with the Islamic equivalent and look at the reasons while individuals can be open to obsessions and possession and discuss the fate of fallen angels from both the catholic and fairy lore perspectives.

This week we are joined by Joshua Cutchin and Timothy Renner to discuss the book they co-authored, ‘Where the Footprints End’, an exploration into the high strangeness surrounding the bigfoot phenomena.
Joshua is an author and musician, and a well known figure in paranormal circles having appeared on some of the best known paranormal podcasts out there. Timothy is also a musician and author and on top of that he's a brilliant illustrator and host of the superb Strange familiars podcast.
So, what’s the premise of the book? Despite their apparently physical nature, bigfoot and its hairy hominid kin consistently appear mired in High Strangeness—the peculiar, ineffable, and nonsensical absurdities so often encountered in paranormal phenomena. Some sightings seem more consistent with mythology than biology. Bigfoot often present supernatural attributes, like luminescent eyes or the ability to pass, ghostlike, through structures. Anomalous lights are regularly seen in areas of frequent sasquatch activity. Footprints persistently, if rarely, display odd numbered toes, and—most bafflingly—bigfoot trackways suddenly terminate in the middle of open, untouched terrain.
In Volume 1 of Where the Footprints End: High Strangeness and the Bigfoot Phenomenon, authors Joshua Cutchin and Timothy Renner carefully examine not only the intersection of hairy apemen with global folklore—of poltergeists, faeries, extraterrestrials, magic, witches, ghosts, and archetypal women-in-white—but also question the fundamental assumptions underlying contemporary cryptozoological beliefs surrounding bigfoot.

In the this episode Dana talks about Non-terrestrial writing/communication. Things seen on the exterior and interior of witnessed alien craft; writing which has been the result of possession; and so-called automatic writing and channelled texts. Our use of written language sets humans apart from many of the other beings on earth. It is also apparent the we share this method of communication with the ultraterrestrial intelligences who come here still. As if that’s not enough we talk phantom airships, Kenneth Arnold, Black Triangles and Ghost rockets. Episode 8.
For the title of this lecture I’ve used the Islamic term ‘Waswas’ in place of Christian term ‘Obsession’ to describe the experience itself but used the Christian / Western term ‘Demons’ in place of Djinns to illustrate the universal aspect of this experience. Please note this is not to diminish either faith it’s simply that the parallels offer a good reference point for my listeners. I would ask for the duration of this podcast to park your assumptions and keep an open mind as we explore this subject.
There are some very obvious parallels between Waswas and mental health problems. I'm not suggesting that mental health problems are all Waswas, that is clearly not the case. I do suggest the sources may not all be internal. Either way if you are experiencing some of the symptoms described in this podcast go and see both a mental health professional and seek spiritual guidance.

Episode 7. This podcast is made up of two recordings, the Dark horseman and the Fairy wind.
The Dark horseman covers two stories from Lady Wilde's book 'Ancient legends of Ireland'. These stories feature the common themes of the 'Dark horseman' trickster that leads the protagonist awry and is quite unnecessarily cruel and spiteful on travellers he meets along the road. The stories include the visit to the fairy palace and all its beauty and joy and then things take a darker turn and the human visitor gets an unpleasant supernatural brush with death. The stories propose that the reason for this unnecessary cruelty is a grudge the fairy folk have against humanity, much like the Djinn. I then breifly discuss the startlingly similar origin myths of the Fairies and Djinn.
The Fairy wind refers to a method of travel employed by the fairies and how if one is stuck by the wind, you are not long for this world. The interesting point here is the Jinn are famously associated with wind, being born of the scoring wind of the desert and travelling via it across great distances. Another remarkable similarity between jinn and fairies.

Episode 6. The idea that there must be a large mountain of lodestone called Rupes Nigra at the North Pole to account for the earth's magnetism goes back to at least the 13th century, not long after the invention of the compass.
It was held to be surrounded by four islands with inward- flowing rivers, great mountains and inhabited by Pygmies. The source of this mythical polar geography is a lost work by an unknown author of the 14th century. The book was called the 'Inventio fortunata'.
The book is said to be a travelogue written by a 14th century Franciscan friar from England who travelled the North Atlantic region in the early 1360s, conducting business on behalf of the King Edward III. He described what he found on his first journey to the islands beyond 54 degrees north in a book, "Inventio Fortunata", which he presented to the King.
The geography attributed to it described bear remarkable resemblances to Hindu, Islamic and Buddhist cosmologies. The description dominated the depiction of the Polar regions on European maps with up to the 1700s, yet we know almost nothing about the contents of the book save a summary in a second text, the "Itinerarium," written by a Dutch traveller named Jacobus Cnoyen. By the late 16th century, even Cnoyen's text was missing, so most of what we know of the contents of the "Inventio Fortunata", other than its use on maps, is found in a letter from the Flemish cartographer Gerardus Mercator to the Anglo-Welsh astrologer and occultist John Dee dated April 20, 1577. Episode #5 is A reading from the book 'Living with Djinns - Understanding and Dealing with the Invisible in Cairo' by anthropologist Barbara Drieskens. This book explores the importance of storytelling in Egyptian society and recounts first-hand experiences of djinns.
A unique ethnographic study, it investigates possession, manifestations, and concepts of person and space. The djinn is an invisible spirit with a will of its own that may lurk at the bottom of your teacup or seep through your pores to possess you; they have long been an explanation for illness and misfortune or an excuse for unconventional behavior.
Barbara Drieskens is an urban anthropologist and an assistant visiting professor at the American University of Beirut.

Dr Robert Alcorn is an Author, a Psychiatrist, a shamanic practitioner and energy healer. Over this hour we spoke about his journey Psychiatrist Toward Spiritual Healer and Shamanism. The personal experiences that drove this development and the healing techniques from Shamanism that exposed Dr Alcorn to how the spirit world is interacting with the human world on an industrial level. We discussed the nature of schizophrenia, waswas and the energy drain associated with spirit attachment.
This of course brings us to the Djinn and in Dr Alcorn’s own words the ‘woowoo’ experiences he had with the Jinn during shamanic journeying. But also his clinical experiences of working with clients under attack from the Djinn. We spoke about what they are? And interestingly how they are ‘not’ demons but in fact elemental beings.
The previously mentioned show on the Catholic view on Spiritual Warfare and degrees of Demonic possession got bumped for this show but will be up soon.

I first gave this lecture at Treadwells Occult bookshop in London. It documents my experiences photographing the Aghori while working as a photographer travelling around India. The Aghori are a Shaivite sect who practice cannibalism and commit profane acts living in and around the spiritual capital of India - the ancient northern Indian city of Varanasi where I spent two weeks tracking them down to shoot the work referenced in this podcast.
The Aghori believe that nothing is blasphemous or independent from God. The Aghoris are distinct from other Hindu sects and Sadu’s (priests) by their alcoholic and cannibalistic ceremonies. Skulls and other human bones are obtained from the cremation grounds and used due to having life-force which they believe can be harnessed for ritual purposes. They are also alleged to pull bodies from the river Ganges, which are then eaten.
They do things which a common man finds to be terrifying, so they overcome fears by facing them and acting out horrors, since they do it regularly it is a common thing for them. They have been known to consume human flesh and human waste and use alcohol and drugs as part of their religious practice. It is said that they are crazy or ‘God-possessed’. They call this transcending of boundaries; ‘Non-discrimination’.
It’s worth orientating westerner occultists. These Sadhu’s are Left hand path in their ritual practices but the outcome of these rituals is not necessarily designed to attain a dark outcome.

In 2002, an article appeared on an Arabic Internet web site that purported to be an interview with a female jinn who had possessed a human being. The article was written by a 'Mr. Abdalrazzak'.
The interview is set in Damascus, Syria, and includes discussion of jinn kingdoms and the phenomenon of jinn possession.
The article consists of various conversations between the author and his paternal grandmother, Husna Khanum, which took place, as he put it, 'when I was quite young'. The dialogues were not literally with his grandmother, he says, but rather with the jinn that had possessed her.
The spirit had taken possession of her many years before, during the French occupation of Syria in 1920, when the constantly exploding shells had caused her psychological trauma’s and opened her to jinn possession.
The manifestations of the female jinn would come and go, depending on circumstances, over the years.
At times, Husna Khanum would seem totally normal; at others, the personality of the jinn would take over. The writer's discussions with his possessed grandmother are recounted in this episode.
